He seems a little shy! She has exposed her belly to him and wants to be near him, although chasing him around the enclosure is kind of embarrassing for him. She is learning what he is good with. They both want each other’s company because that’s how they are designed to exist. Cats can only sleep 💤 when they feel safe and these two are very happy to be sleeping with each other.
Okay in the 3rd session, that had me laughing! You could almost hear the wheels turning in his head, deciding if he wanted to risk another swipe by sitting too close to a possibly pissed off female haha. The hesitant paw, the nervous side eye 😂 Love seeing this behind the scenes stuff that only you guys are privilege to!
I thought the video was so well done, showing and explaining socialising procedure clearly, but also moving swiftly through progression . Also, explaining safety precautions. So interesting. Thank you . 🦁🐱
Thanks you for sharing this video. Millions upon millions of us have no idea how your organizations work. The lions look healthy, beautiful as if 15:44 they were in their natural environment because of your care. Still heartbreaking all animal/species are endangered for one reason or another today.
I love how Kasanga gave up his bed for Imara when she moved in on the first session, but when he tried to encroach on her space on the second session, she was "heck no!" And he just sat back ... what a gentleman!
Could you use soft cleanable mats in there indoor environment or give them something other than dried grass on hard concrete. There are raised beds that can be cleaned easily or soft mats that support their joints. The grass is not enough for their size etc. Thank you for the work you do!
My thoughts exactly re: the mats. There has to be a reason why they do not do that but because no one responds to peoples comments or questions, we'll never be able to understand why.
I'm thinking anything that could be torn up by claws and not safe to eat would be a safety issue. I volunteered with cat rescue (regular pet cats) and that was a problem because you can't watch the cats 24/7. They eat toys and lick cat litter off their fur.
@@lizsays3324 I know, I've had cats all my life. But so too with dogs -- a dog will eat anything & everything -- cats are a little smarter than that. It's also why it's easy to give a dog medication & not so easy with a cat.
Well that was a really fun process to watch. I kept thinking, if only we humans could show as much respect and patience with each other as these two lions have.😂😂😂 I'm so glad that they have each other now. Lions are not meant to live alone. Thanks for taking such beautiful care of them❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning to see how animals interact with each other. Even more stunning is too see the huge similarities between the interactions of animals and the interactions of humans and their partners. No matter how much the modern times try to alter and fight against the behavioural instincts of male and female humans, their natural instincts remain fixed and consistent.
@@loribaker8339 I'm at the point where I leave a reactor site & will not watch. I just found one that has singing -- I was out of there in 3 seconds. We're overly saturated with music in everything from TV movies, to documentaries, to commercials -- some so loud it drowns out the narrator. Why does the world think music has to be aded to everything produced, when for 100 yrs. we got along very well without music only to be added in its proper place for good reason. Ludicrous!
I feel she didn't like him sniffing her all the time.I like how the king lion run's from her.Than outside she started to smell him which is a great sign. Her defence mode is becoming use to him.I think it will take some time. (Very slow going) but they will be used to each other. They are beautiful *💚)
Watching lions decide to bond never gets old! The success was largely to do with the weeks of preparation. That she immediately went to him and submitted, was the signal they had already agreed through the fence before the gate was opened. We eagerly await to see the head bump, to seal the deal.
@@natashakingston8302 Thanks, man. You know? Amara reminds me of my adopted lioness Nala. The only reason why she was adopted was that her mother wouldn't raise her. Thanks to my internship at Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, Virginia, I was able to take her in for conservation purposes.
Ok um how did you get these wild animals. They should be in the wild not in your enclosure. I see that you are trying to get the 2 together. Ok but really how did you get them? Ok so I am watching and you guys better take care of them big time I'm watching you
Seemed very cramped? Why they were caged with not being let out? They seemed to look at the outer openings of each others' and of their own side of their confines. From what could be seen. What it looked like, which it seemed, as mentioned. Of course i do not know the whole story, how it was outside? Only from what were shown in this video. Whether it was not safe to let them out? they do not like being out? There was no room or no place for them to roam when out? or? .. wondering
It was their first introductions. If things went wrong it would be easier to contain and isolate the two of them. If things had gone wrong in the big enclosure, the keepers would have been unable to separate them which could have resulted in serious injuries to both and possibly the female killed by the male. Although you clearly didn't watch it all the way through as you failed to notice that they did eventually go out together in the larger enclosure where the could roam in a more natural setting, and exhibit more natural behaviour.
Once they start rubbing heads together all will be ok. She is doing it to him but he is slow. Why you stood there with the vet who is the most hated person there and now your treated more as the enemy to is beyond me.
my experiences over several decades are with horses and dogs AND what I have observed with them seemed to be played out here as well .Namely that Females of the Species are the Dominant gender . Maybe because SHE is the one , as with Homo Sapiens , that must be supplicant for breeding . Thus the male must know she is ready To accept his more forceful advances . Something I do not think those not given The Privilege of being closely involved with other species understand believing the Male is the Aggressor . Think again and watch the nuanced interaction . Think.itbacpity this is not explained to us as children then adolescence because if it were maybe l there would be far less misunderstandings . Other species instinctive ty about such matters is an advantage .....
They didn't even mate. And even then, if you didn't want to see it, there was a chance it could be in this video so why'd you click? Just leave, you don't have to make a comment.
Forever grateful that u peeps try ur darndest at trying to understand how these beautiful creatures function naturally.

Here's hoping they will eventually make the cubbies

Kasanga has a girlfriend!! So happy for them both - Kasanga is a true gentlecat

Imara is such a Tease.... swipes her scented behind in his face then when he goes for a whiff, 🐾 💫💥😖right in the face 🤣 😂

Wonderful footage of interactions between these two! I’m glad they have taken to each other. Thank you for the work you do. 🌈💜🇺🇸
Oh that was so wonderful to see - here's hoping that they continue to make progress & that it all works out positively for them.
So sweet. He’s so sweet
What a beautiful couple ♡♡

Very interesting to see these wonderful lions interacting. Good commentary as well.
I think she was saying, "Hey, it's too soon to be sniffing me there". He got the message.
Beautiful lions
Thank you! Just love these big cats!
The real "Can you feel the love tonight"
Beautiful kitties.
She’s a gutsy girl isn’t she? Good for her.

Looks like she is claiming his territory 😆 poor guy has lost his house
Great work all of you
I enjoy watching these videos, but I'd rather hear the lions than listen to the music.
Same
I put it on mute and fast forward her
It's the only thing that spoils it

Great seeing the process but boy is your music ever LOUD!

They seem to have bonded, he does love the way her butt smells and she has to accept that about him, but they seem to have accepted each other.
Do the African and Asiatic lions in your care ever interact with each other? If so, I'm very curious to see how they fare together

Wow this girl is so active, does she attend a gym or something?😂❤
Looks like you may have some “kittys” before you know it!
To know what is going on inside their heads during these interactions.....
Wonderful video. Just two big pussy cats getting to know each other. Thanks.

What's the Lionesses name, and is she white or pale?
Amara

Yes ! Actually it would be great to hear them, it can be more impressive

Music is AWFUL 😮
They need a larger place to live. That prison is too small
The space they were meeting in was a smaller section of their enclosure, they have big areas! That was just a den
