Now you know what TAHITI stands for: The Alien Hidden In The Incubator.
Actually, it's later confirmed to be "Terrestrialized Alien Host Integrative Tissue I[..]" -- it's not known what the last 'I' stands for, but it's theorized to be "Initiative"; or possibly "Implant" or "Infusion" or something like that.
Side note: it's true that all comments and posts that start with the word "actually" are entirely pedantic in nature. So, logically, that must go for this one too.
You might be right about what it stands for, but ShadowCat's acronym was hillarious. Thanks for clearing that up though.

I think the reason May acts so cold is because she has feelings. She tries to keep them under control so that they don't interfere with the job, and because (if you remember "The Well"), she'd probably go crazy if she didn't.
May always had feelings. She just normally can hide them as a coping mechanism. This is her team to protect and in her own weird non emotional way - to love them by beating people up who dare to hurt them.
This is a cool episode and I think it really gets the action for the rest of the season going. Great to see Bill Paxton and to meet Trip.
Man, I miss Bill Paxton.

I think this was one of my favorite SHIELD reactions of yours so far! I didn't get that scared when I watched Sky dying because I didn't believe she would, but seeing you reacting, it was whole new experience this time around!!!

When you were talking about your hope of Skye not dying I smiled and thought, 'Don't worry, Joss's younger brother and sister-in-law (the showrunners) have a different type of style when it comes to plot line writing.'
How is it a different style? Did Joss kill off Buffy in season 1? (Yeah, she did 'die', but obviously that was not killing her off.)
"Style" is the wrong word. The word I was looking for isn't really a word so much as a phrase meaning they don't kill main characters off nearly as often.
Joss doesn't really kill the main characters that often, either, especially if you exclude the cases where it happened because of problems with the actor and the cases where it happened in the series finale/the last installment of the franchise (so to speak). His reputation in that respect is quite exaggerated.
I never said they did. But "I smiled and thought," what I thought because Joss does it more often than his brother and sister-in-law do. That is all I meant.

Going back to places you have wiped memories of- while _knowing_ that fact- is so intimidating, especially in a situation like Coulson’s… and _especially_ if the place is empty, and what little memories you have show it being occupied. He was dead, then got brought back to life. Sure, it would be scary going back to the place where you died, but death is natural. In this show’s world, resurrection *isn’t* natural. It’s chilling to think that, after losing his life, his lifeless corpse was brought here, restored, and his memories of that moment were erased. And now he’s back at the place where he became an anomaly in nature. A dead man walking, which is supposed to be impossible. It makes returning to the site of his revival more intimidating than if he was returning to the site of his death. That’s why I love this shot.

Awww. Bill Paxton. He was an actor in movies I grew up watching on tv. Like Commando, Predator 2, True Lies, Tombstone, Apollo 13 and Frailty. The most memorable one for me is Twister. Miss that dude. RIP Bill. So I guess TAHITI is NOT a magical place. Nope. I wonder how Skye's gonna react once she knows what they injected her with. That was one heck of a tough call to act on. Not sure if it was mentioned but that was a Kree alien corpse in the tank. Ronan the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy is one.
May ALWAYS had feelings she is just good at hiding them, but she really has a soft spot for Skye, she really sees her as a daughter, you will see later on the show.

If you've read any Thor comics you might have heard of The Enchantress (Amora), Lorelei's older sister.
I didn't know they were sisters.
I wouldn't have either if I hadn't looked her up after seeing her in SHIELD... she's quite a minor character even when compared to her sister, to be fair... at first I thought she was supposed to be Amora and they'd changed her name for some reason in the MCU...

It's kind of funny that you are that into Skye because back then, a lot of people resented her because she felt that she took too much centre stage in the show. The writers eventually rescued her from the Scrappy heap, though. Nowadays Skye is popular as everyone else (though I guess most people have either May or Fitz as favs).

I'm surprised people like Fitz so much. Nothing wrong with him, but he never really interested me that much.
Skye was always my favorite in season one and not has a three-way tie with Coulson and Simmons.
I never understood the Skye hate. The "she took too much centre stage" criticism makes no sense, knowing that Coulson had over an hour more of screentime than she did in season 1. Skye and Ward had almost the same amount of screentime.
(That's a fact - IMDB user ninewheels calculated all the MCU characters screentime a while ago. Unfortunately, it looks like the list has been deleted, though I have the data saved.)

Finally we see what TAHITI is all about. That was a Kree, they use him to bring Coulson from the dead. That's why he didn't want them to inject Skye with the substance.
