"Revenge is mine says the Lord". He should not have tried to take revenge. Thank you for another great story.
Thank you!
I love how your words paint a vivid picture of the surroundings, the people and the events . It's surprisingly easy to understand for a foreigner .
I really work hard to put the listener in the story, like they are there and they personally know the characters.
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller
….and You do an OUTSTANDING job of it friend.
When i get finished listening to your stories from the Appalachian Mountains i have to go listen to the song 🎶" You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive"🎶
My favorite song❤
My Granny was born in Harlan
My grandfather ❤️ Died from black lung at a local hospital. 1958,
Patty Loveless is also a real Coal Miner's Daughter from Eastern Kentucky, and her cover of that song is haunting.
Great song.
Like the ole phrase goes “when you go out seeking revenge, always dig two graves”, another riveting story, appreciate ya J.D.!
❤️
A wonderful story told by a great storyteller. ❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I live in a semi-remote area of southern middle TN. We have hills but no mountains. Around these parts there was a civil war battle called the Battle of Middleburg TN. After the war the little town disappeared. Other than that many of the stories shared here on this channel could have happened here. Tennessee is a blessed state full of deep heritage. JD, thank you for this channel
Thank you so much brother
You are my favorite storyteller. I declare, I could listen to you all day. You make these stories come alive! Thank you for using your talents to enrich us.

You are the best story teller I believe that I've heard. I'm going to get your book but I'd rather listen to you tell them than read them. I'm sure your book is great but you tell them so well.

@@TheAppalachianStoryteller the same to you. Easter is my time to make traditional Uranian dishes for my family.
When I was n the Army, I often traveled through Frozen Head NP. Truly beautiful country. Always wanted to know why it was named that.

Thank you Bessie, have a blessed day my friend
Happy Tuesday!
Same to you!
I look forward to you posting stories listen to them over and over waiting for the next one thank you
thank you so much!
Good Story. Sometimes revenge can boomerang back on you. I do believe land/mountains can have ghosts or be cursed. Many place are ancient Indian burial grounds for hundreds of years, could be Frozenhead's history. While I'm not superstitious I think it's best not to find out for myself.
What are odds of bodies still being on that mountain somewhere. Great story J.D. Happy Easter brother!!
Happy Easter Rusty!
I bet there *are* still undiscovered remains on that mountain. Eventually I started thinking about Yellowstone's 'Train Station' which for some time I didn't realize was symbolic terminology. I really thought they were putting people on a regular train and riding them out of town on a rail.
Great story !!!
Bored at work and then I get this notification, thank you!
happy to help ya get thru the day working for the man
Hi JD, I'm late, but another good story. You made it come alive. I could picture the scenes in my mind as you told the tale. Thanks and take care.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER, look at you! That is exactly where it is. I actually was there today filming again for another story. email me your mailing address and ill send you a free sticker theappalachianstoryteller@gmail.com
❤WoW❤
You know there will be trouble when someone wants revenge...🙄
I went camping at Frozen Head many years ago and it got really cold...lol
Great story JD 👍💐
it is cold up there!
Since I come from the Dakotas and Minnesota, the name Frozenhead caught my attention.
Frozenhead is a mountain about 30 miles from my house that I can see in the skyline... its the first one in the area to frost at the head and the natives called it frozen head, the name has stuck til this day. Although when compared to Minnesota... well there's no comparison im sure! All the footage of the mountain in this video, I shot from Frozenhead.
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller very cool.
JD you have a way with words i feel that im really there
Good story
Thank you!
Can you pls tell me some good books to read pls .. love your stories so much sending love from London England x
I have a book I wrote here www.theappalachianstoryteller.com
Ok JD what does Squire actually mean. Is it a name or salutation? Oh and I loved the dust from the rock slide. Great video on this holy Friday. Thank you.
Well, when I was growing up, anyone elderly with a reputation of respect was called Squire. I still use that term even if it has been forgotten, great question
@TheAppalachianStoryteller I felt like that was the case, but have learned to ask. Have a blessed Easter.
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller - Lots better than being called a cockwomble. (I like old words too.)
I read this book to my Mama.
Thank you for the tells. I spent a lot of time in Frozen Head hiking. Who does your writing for your tells?
90% of the stories on this channel are written by me, occasionally I worked with other authors. They are always documented in the video descriptions.
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller Awesome job on telling this stories. I’ve been to a lot the places you mentioned. I’ve lived in Oak Ridge for a while. Keep up the great work.
That story sure had a twist!
❤️

Whatta cliffhanger!
I tried to hold the ending back as long as I could! it was a real "cliffhanger"
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller - Absolutely.

Yes sir
This is my home town
Awesome
@TheAppalachianStoryteller this was an amazing story to
Great Story! My question is, What part of the southern Appalachians are those mountains located JD? I live in the southern most Appalachians of North Carolina. Are those located in Georgia or Alabama? I don’t blame those mountain folk for being skeered of those mountains! 👍
The footage in this video I shot with my drone of the actual Frozen Head Mountain. I can see frozen head thru the window of my studio. It's about 30 miles away in the distance. They are located in Morgan County Tennessee
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller thanks JD.
💚💚🌹🥰
👍
😀
I live about 15 minutes away from Frozen Head.
Me too!
i backpack Frozenhead. rugged mountain!
Where is Frozen head?
@@LJFZR Wartburg TN
Ought naught to be messing about on ol Frozen Head.
For mountain folk to be so "Christian" and church going, they sure have a lot of vengeance in mind. "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord".
😎
Jd hey buddy
If you give in to the devil’s deeds he’ll get ya, one way or another.
Exactly
Revenge is best served frozenhead?!?
ahhhh, I like it
👍
