It is probably too late this year unfortunately. You have to start lisianthus 12-13 weeks before your last frost.

That's awesome! How many seeds did you sow per cell for the others? it looks like you had a great germination rate!

Just ONE! I only saw one seed per cell for everything unless the seed is 3 years old or more! Check out my 10 tips for growing Lisianthus if you want to see what I did to get this great of germination!

How do your seed saving plants do?

It went great! I started having some health issues mid-season though, so I failed to continue filming updates on this experiment. I know that every lisianthus plant I planted done well, but I'll have to check my videos to see if they grew true to color. I planted every color in its own row, & I dont remember seeing any rows with multiple colors, so I'm pretty sure they grew true to type!

I'm zone 6a. I usually start my lisianthus mid-late January. I have a video going over my 10 tips for growing lisianthus if you wpuld like to check it out. I always have great success with them!

This is awesome! Could you let us know when you harvested the pods though? In your previous video you mentioned that you waited until the pods were dry before opening them, but when you harvested the flowers did you also wait until the whole stalk was dry or just the flower was dry before cutting the pods off of the plant? I'm at that point now with my lisianthus plants where I have pods and the flowers have dried, but the stalk beneath the flower is still kinda green. So I'm not sure if it's too early to cut it off of the plant...

If I'm remembering correctly the the stem directly underneath the flower was turning pretty yellow but the rest of the plant was still pretty green. Hope this helps! 👍
