- Veteran leader Kapil Sibal dumped the Congress party and filed his Rajya Sabha nomination on a Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday morning. Issuing his first response on the big switch, the legal eagle said that it was necessary to be an 'independent voice', and raise prevalent issues against the Modi administration outside the 'constraints' of being a member of a political party.

@@ashm4261 actually he consulted Mamta. She accepted to send him to RS on condition from TMC. But he is reluctant to join in TMC. So he negotiated with Akhilesh for support as independent. He is the man who got bail from SC for Azam Khan after one year. So Akhilesh is bound to accept.

Anything other than economy, unemployment, inflation, fuel price hike are some of the 'achievements' of BJP. Kapil should speak against these. What is an ancient temple, church or mosque to talk about. Such issues are brought up to cover up important and pressing issues and BJP is good in doing that.

His great lecture of Independent MP was only to be delivered when he was sidelined by Congress. When he didn't get RS seat from Congress ,he suddenly discovered the need of Independence from party line. What was he doing from last six ? Had he not realised the importance of independence then ? Or he received this enlightenment only when knew he was not getting RS seat from Congress. It appears that philosophy of independence is nothing more but hiding his loss of place and importance in Congress.

Congress got chance recently to revive their footprint when they were having govt in Punjab , Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh , Maharashtra ( MVA) , Karnataka , Chattisgadh with neighbouring friendly allies of TRS , UDF , AITC but they couldn't sustain it lost Madhya Pradesh , Karnataka and Punjab after a short while , G23 and core committee are constantly trying for parties betterment while party is not going by the way of proper constructive criticism , persistent disruptions will make it ordinary kind of opposition but certainly congress is the India's oldest political party they must do some out of the box unusual moves by proposing concrete pragmatic ways and opposing with conviction rather than ordinary way of slogans , disruptions etc .
