Bob lee is fake a character name used for a movie the story if fictional Carlos Hathcock how ever is real a Vietnam Marine NCO that is Non Commissioned Officer who has 93 confirmed kills which the Bob lee characteris inspired from. For impactshooting to like the Bob lee comment just shows how little he actually knows
Former soldier here, non SF. They're a disorganised mess. Your run-of-the-mill grunt knows how to provide more meaningful corrections: "Come right two points of aim," "Splash one metre below target," etc. Give the shooter a reference relative to the point of aim and they can adjust their zero (or shot placement) accordingly. This is par for the course for Lunker's videos, lots of screwing around, little (or no) preparation and a long runtime. At least the swearing is military grade.
Lunkers was force recon not even SOF my theory is nick former ranger was just being humble and not showing him up on his own channel after he let him promote his new book. Recon guys are known for telling everyone they are snipers cuz they went to a school once and never used their long guns
@@g.D1776 pretty sure he was Army. Said in one of the few videos I watched of his he was an Army sniper and used the M24 but it’s been a while and I could be wrong.
I think lunkers attended a basic designated marksman school, not a classic "rear sniper program", from what I understand he was somehow attached to a group that contained SOF members and he carried a SCAR 17 mostly... I think Lunkers is purposefully misrepresenting his actual military record in order for social media influence, The Nick guy seems to not be misrepresenting his service, although I haven't looked into the "most deadly" claims, Nick seems genuine and like he was pulled into the spotlight by his "friends" wanting to use his credentials and service record to boost their own greed and fame... Just my opinion. Lunkers ex-wife can attest to his character as well...
The big thing you’re missing here is that the world of professional/competitive marksmen is completely different than combat marksmen/snipers…. I’m a gunsmith in Texas and have regularly worked with guys who place in king of the two mile as well as some combat snipers ….. in my experience the competitive guys tend to outshoot and out run the combat guys at that type of shooting…. The biggest strengths of the combat sniper is the ability to make calls and adjustments on the fly in extremely stressful situations….. most spotter sniper pairs develop personal jargon that allows them to communicate quickly while only having to imply information without always having to be explicit…. Just throwing in a new spotter or a new shooter into the mix won’t get the same results ….. Lunkers isn’t a great spotter….. but Nick is a great shooter ….. but like I said combat snipers are a different world from competitive guys ….. I’d rather have the competitive guy on a hunt….. but I’d rather have the combat sniper with me if the things I’m shooting are shooting back ……
I hear what you are saying but they were not making calls and adjustments on the fly, they changed their measurements and took way too many rounds to get to Zero. It was just a bad video, im sure Nik is alot better than that.
@@wilfdarr Maybe, but at their "Level" you expect a little more professionalism. If you read the comments people really though thats the way you do it. Just because someone has been in the US military and seen combat doesnt mean they are above reproach! I love having fun on a Saturday with guns, we still keep it solid though.
@@capetownoke2780 I'm willing to cut them some slack: both these young men have seen "some shit": the fact that they're as well adjusted as they are is no small miracle. I'm not going to demand they be "professional" on a Saturday morning, in a video made for people's entertainment.
I love watching Mark and Sam after work from Australia. They do extreme long range and Sam does a wonderful job calling impacts "half target high, one target right." I have tried to improve my skills to the point of being able to sight in my rifle in 2 or 3 shots then confirm drops at distances. I am by no means a professional shooter, but I agree this is really poor communication.
Agree 100%. They live not far from me. ( Im a West Aussie, so "not far" can be couple miles to half a days drive. lol. Theyre about 400 kms south . Not that far ) A great shooter spotter team. Simple , easy to read comunication. And omg. Mark sends some insane distance hits out with his various rifles on that 24inch square target they use. Dunno if theyve managed that 5000 yrds yet, but theyre trying.
YES! Mark and Sam after work are the best! I watch all of their videos. His information videos are other worldly (obviously in a good way). Anybody that hasn’t seen them PLEASE go check them out. They work extremely hard on their videos and are very under viewed and under appreciated. They even make their OWN precision rife shooting components. They are top notch. As you can see I very much appreciate their knowledge and work on their videos.
"I dont know why he's swearing so much" - In the US Army especially among the Infantry, swearing is a normal part of everyday life. Thats just how it is. So when we are among others we can identify with under a shared experience, we cuss a lot. It doesnt mean anything. We dont talk like this to everybody.
Not every American feels the need to curse. I curse more than I mean to sometimes but you’re honestly a loser if you actually think it’s a self-identity to swear 😂 I assume you’re 13 years old
As a former military guy I can say that these are two guys, that share a similar background, getting together to shoot some good old 308 down range. Both have their own traumas but share a lot of the same traumas. This is simply therapy and messing around. To dissect one’s shooting ability that actually used these skills in combat is a bit elementary. This would be equivalent to a TH-cam basketball player critiquing some of the greatest to ever play the game based on a shoot around. If you’re doing this for views, you win. You got my view. End of the day, this is some weekend warrior content from a guy that’s never served or used any of their shooting knowledge in any practical application outside of hunting. I understand your goal is not to disrespect their service, but you’re comparing practical shooting to precision shooting. These guys don’t train like you train, hence why there’s a difference in technique. The “lingo” you speak of is not for TH-cam lol. This is how they learn to communicate. You’re really on your high horse with this video. They took a personal moment as two former snipers and shared it with the world. You’re using that moment for notoriety. You shoot for fun. They shot for country.
Agreed, I would also add that he seemed very butthurt when he stated the number of followers Lunkers has. This stinks of jealousy. This video was terrible to watch once.
You nailed it!!!! This video is so cringe I can't stand it. It speaks jeolousy!!!! I watched the original and thought how awesome. Two of America's finest enjoying a day out shooting. That was it. And this guy just shreds them for it!
Man, I couldn't' finish that [original] video much less stomach a full reaction to it. Thanks for the video Pieter, your breakdown made it worthwhile. EDIT: let us know when you're ever back in Texas :)
not sure if you have seen any of Ryan Cleckner’s videos but there’s a guy who knows long range shooting. His no nonsense hit the target real world application mentality is what got me interested and one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed your channel. If you two did a colab, that would be AWESOME!
Agreed!! I bought it. Read it twice(which is a significant accomplishment for me) and I keep it in the gun case of my rifle along with the journal he suggested to keep; where I am happy to share that I never collected air samples of the days I ever shot to pointlessly store with my journal.😂
Former US Army 11B, and yes this does look like a mess. I think it could be a combination of factors. When you are shooting in the military while in garrison it is very controlled(At least in my experience). Also, you will hit, and hit consisentently or you will get guidance and training until you do. While deployed, experiences can vary hugely. I deployed twice to Iraq and only fired my weapon in anger on one occasion when our COP was attacked my first tour. I know just based off of these guys background they experienced ALOT more combat than I did so I have alot of respect for them based off of that. Now that they are out, they are both social media influencers, content creators, authors, etc....They might just not really care much for shooting anymore. They still do, to make videos and for fun, but they may not take it anyone near as serious as they once had to. When I was in I was a great shot with an M4(not trying to toot my own horn but I was). I was a dismount, a rifleman in a mechanized infantry company/combined arms brigade. I took it very serious and I gave 100% percent effort. I got out in 2012, I shoot my AR everynow and then for fun, but not with the laser like focus I use to have. Also, both of them being social media influencers, I think they may have had there focus on the camera(making a video that will get views) and not on performing the task at hand effectively.
The problem with this critique is that people are now equating what happened on a TH-cam video with these guys bona fides. Some are actually questioning if either guy was qualified or had even earned their accolades. You gets points for trolling them for views and comments, thereby making money, while accusing them of trolling for views and comments, thereby making money. But the lack of respect shown isn’t good long term.
Yeah I question whether he was qualified or even had earned his accolades. DEI is a pretty big thing in the military. When I was in, if you were the right color you could get away with ANYTHING
@telesniper2 But you shouldn't. Thinking someone isn't qualified because they aren't white is just as bad and WRONG as thinking someone IS qualified because they are white.
I’m glad you did this video, I stopped watching Lunkers years ago cuz he would pimp out his sniper background and kill my expectations on his knowledge and skills. He used to be decently modest many years ago but he just annoys the heck out of me
I’m an avid shooter and I’m very proficient. I got into long range shooting and got addicted to the sport, to then bring my new skill set to the field where it increased the range I was willing/capable of taking game. I had a pretty big fight with my dad last year after he started rattling rounds off at an elk at 800 yards while demanding I help give calls to walk him on target. After giving him a couple, I told him he needed to stop. Hence the fight. I know his competency, and I imagine now, we looked like Pieter and “the reaper” in the field. One of us knew what we were doing but the other didn’t. What made matters worse was I practiced daily for months leading up to the hunt with my newly built 338 EDGE to shoot across a specific canyon I knew I’d likely see elk in. This same day, I made a 1 shot kill on a 6x6 bull at 1007 yds, so my dad assumed if I could do that, 800 for him should be easy? Pretty toxic logic. This video was as hard to watch as that situation was to be in.
When I first watched Lunkers video I thought it was just 2 guys out having a good time shooting. It sucks if there are individuals out there that believe that's how long it actually takes to properly zero your set up however, I don't believe this video showed their true abilities to seriously get a rifle ready. I would love to see you do a video with Nic or Rob and give them a fair showing. Thanks for all of the excellent videos you put out!
I haven't watched Lunker's video, but I've seen several of Nick's, as well as ines he has done with Matt om Demolition Ranch, and he never seems to have these issues. Maybe they were drunk
@@jasonmorgan27 dude you have no f-ing idea what you are talking about.. You need to do some serious research on reaper and then come back and apologize for your ignorant comment.
Nicholas Irving was a former sniper in the 3rd ranger batallion. Important to note that he is not killing people for a living anymore and is probably out there just chatting shit trying to have a good time. I’m sure if it was someone’s head and his life was on the line, this would be a very different video.
Legends have built up around special operations and snipers. In some cases, like the US Army Rangers, "sniper" is part of an actual MOS, not just DM or designated marksman. I have read two of Sgt Irving's books. I have also read and watch podcasts of Ryan Cleckner, whom I could wholeheartedly recommend. Cleckner was a sniper team leader in the 1st Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. He explicitly states in his book on long range shooting that he is not and never was a sharpshooter. That would be something along the lines of the channel host, here, being a competitor in precision shooting. Cleckner was, in his own words, a tactical shooter. Not trying to pierce ear lobes at a mile. Trying, however, to put 220 grains stopping energy in an standard target out to 600 yards. Average range of combat is less than 800 yards and many is the shot that is 300 yards or less. I agree, this video might be for show. Since they are no longer serving in an active unit, they might not desire to hold to a standard phrasing of communication but I agree, you need to have agreed on terms. And stay within the measuring system you want to use. And Irving also mentions in his books with some of his stories of combat, you are trying to make the most of the situation. And so, you would think, on a calm day in Texas with no one shooting or lobbing ordnance at you, better shots can be made. Or at least sooner. I don't know, it just seemed like they were having fun. Most people who I have known who served had salty language. Except for my mother, who did not serve. But she could curse enough to make a sailor blush.
Thank you, comp shooting vs combat has some similarities yet far more differences. The simple fact that he made it home should prove he isn’t a joke. I also doubt he’s trying to be the most technical with his call outs when he’s out joking with his friends.
Well the real misconception is the military works with what it has. If u shoot relatively well ur doing better than most green recruits. Not everyone is a marksman sniper assassin. It's really more about tactics that actual marksmanship and knowing ur limitations. But yes I noticed he couldn't shoot that well in another video.
@@djl5634 That is something I also learned. The standard expected of green recruits is 4 MOA. This translates into being able to hit the enemy at 100 yards, or CQB. Can the new guy hit a 18 inch wide by 20 in tall target from house to house? While moving, possibly off hand. Guys who shoot better than that can become DM. Others specifically want the work of long range combat. Well, being a sniper is not actually about splitting the X at 1,000 yards which can certainly be the goal of various competitions. A big part of the sniper activity is getting into closer positions and you do that by being a sneaky bastard. Less distance equals greater accuracy. According to Cleckner, and others, such as Milton, a retired SEAL sniper and instructor, average range of engagement was less than 800 yards. Sometimes, quite a bit less than that. And the object was not the x ring. The object was to place 220 grains in center of mass of an 18x20 in target. For example, Cleckner would use a .300 Win Mag. Dial elevation from DOPE and hold left or right edge of target into the wind. And this is while an enemy is actively seeking you and shooting at you and trying to kill you. Same which can be said for Sgt. Nicholas "The Reaper" Irving, 3rd Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. For a number of tours. Do these guys talk like PRS dudes? Probably not. Do the talk the way they did in service? Maybe, maybe not. Often is a the case where shooter and spotter develop their own lingo. No rule says that you cannot. And are you going to tell these guys no? Just remember, they are retired paid killers. It was the job to end lives per orders. And do so quickly, and efficiently, and don't take all day. And I think that is going to be just different than maybe an F-Class match with a 16 pound rifle designed to sit on the ground on a hill under a shade poking holes in paper. I could be wrong. I am not a veteran, certainly not a competitive shooter.
This is a weird video that popped up on my feed. It’s just weird. Nicholas Irving is a proven, elite sniper, in actual combat. I don’t get what the video is trying to do.
The guys trying to stand in them to raise himself up. Like a surgeon trash talking combat medics to make themselves look better. I like precision shooting, but no way I'd watch this dude after he decided to go after service members for having fun after a long time away from precision shooting.
@610610billy610610 if that's the case you missed the hole point of the video. Just bc someone is in the military doesn't give them a blanket safety net from criticism. Come on that's retarded.
I got outta the Marines 22 years ago and that's a very great class on how not to sight in a rifle..I don't see common military disciplines associated with shooting.
Honestly the fact that the dude was dropping bodies overseas is good enough for me. You shoot for a sport, idk if you have any military or LE experience but it’s a big difference taking a shot under duress in the field vs playing a game where you won’t get targeted and shot back at. You critique because you’re a sportsman and good at this one craft, this guy is NOT a sportsman obviously, and has played around a lot on demolition ranch so it’s pretty well established that he doesn’t take himself too seriously. There a lot of guys who in theory shoot better than someone in an infantry unit, but in a war scenario I’d have to choose the infantrymen as im not as confident that a sportsman will share the same resolve under pressure. Lastly it’s easy to become great at shooting if that’s all you do, military personnel have numerous other duties to accomplish besides sitting on a range for 8 hrs a day popping reloads on AR500.
Honestly, watching the video when he can't hit shit and even can't zero his rifle makes me think that he never dropped any body, except by accident and just full of bullshit.
@@Dexter-nw2fe Nick came in clutch on deployments as he needed to be. Easy to shoot a target when its not shooting back at you with NOT JUST AKs and RPKs but RPGs too. Nick said it in his book he wasn't the world's greatest sniper, but he gained his "deadliness" tag because he was in a target rich environment. He has nothing to prove. He saved many lives during his deployments. Long range shooting is a perishable skill and when Nick was in his prime (i.e. deployment ready) he was able to do what he needed to. This video seemed personal.
@@dantenicholson9744 I agree!! I came across this video because I have been very interested in getting into the long range shooting sport. But the attitudes of the so called “expert shooters” in the comment section as well as the presenter, is a bit off putting. I didn’t know who Irving was before this, but I went and subscribed to his channel. I may not learn to become “expert long distance shooter” from watching his content, but I can appreciate a person who have been through tough situations and can still have fun in life.
@@Dexter-nw2feyou can punch a punching bag very well with correct form better fundamentals than a battle tested veteran boxer.. But that correct fundamentals won't necessarily translate to a better outcome in a real boxing match... Takes no guts to throw a punch at a bag
Nick (Reaper) is the real deal. Idk wtf was their issue in this vid but he’s genuine. That said their video was an embarrassment, but a lot of grunts are not gun guys snipers included. The rifle is a tool to use, they get out and forget everything, it’s quite common. AND Lunkers sucks and prolly sucked as a DM.
Just found this video. I have many family and friends who served and none of the special forces members act like these clowns. They don't brag about killing people. They don't glorify the numbers they have. They don't make videos for million plus people to pick apart their shortcomings. Thank you for your efforts to share quality information and real lessons on safety and efficiency when handling firearms. I would love for you to show some carbine (16-18") barreled AR platform distance shooting. Like 5.56/.223 or .300blk, etc. Kept up the good stuff.
Yeah, I watched a couple of their videos some time ago, entertaing at first, but anything military related they talk about started to sound fishy really quick, more so when you see them actually shoot
Most military guys are the most LOUD mouth. This is just facts... They love talking about how good they are... Love to use the word civilians in family gathering... Bunch of lil boys acting like men.
I went to the range with a vet one time and he couldn't hit shit. He kept blaming it one the fact that my ar did not have an m203 launcher so holding the rifle without felt weird. I humored him but it was pathetic
If you didn't make him feel less, then you made him feel more and my man, that is the most honorable thing you could have done. Long distance High 5...for allowing a man to keep his dignity.
What’s even more pathetic is you coming on here and trashing some mystery vet you claim to have shot rifles with. I think it’s funny that you “humored” him face to face. Meaning you didn’t run your mouth because he probably would’ve extracted some of your teeth. You’re a textbook perfect example of how people come online and feel free to say anything rude condescending and disrespectful without the fear of getting punched in the mouth.
@@jdizzle5083 I know I should have just kept my mouth shut and moved on to another video but I couldn’t help it. People that say things like that just trigger me. Most of the time I keep myself in check but every once in a while. . . 😂😂😂😂
As a follow up: Pieter, you wondered why the shooter kept asking for holdover in MILS when the spotter kept giving them in MOA. In the US military we dealt almost exclusively in MILS. Either the scope reticle was in MILS (don't know if you could ever identify which scope they were using) or the shooter, being a former military shooter, is only comfortable/thinks in terms of MILS regardless of the equipment he is using. I speculate the spotter was using a ballistic calculator or spotting scope set for MOA and he doesn't know how to either change the settings to MILS or he can't make that changeover calculation in his head (which most any seasoned long range shooter can do fairly easily.) There is a tremendous amount of pressure in the US to put combat veterans on a pedestal. As a veteran myself, in a family of retired veterans, I feel ok saying DUDE BROS like these and the guys at Black Rifle Coffee and the like get a free pass on acting like jackasses on social media. In fact, they are rewarded for it. As a passionate long range shooter dedicated to furthering my shooting capabilities, I would much rather watch videos like yours where I can learn more about shooting and about new calibers and equipment, than watch these peacocks strut around for 20 minutes. Thanks for your videos and keep up the good work. R Conn - citizenconn, Houston, TX
Both idiots knew nothing about either. Jargon from a few movies and books. If you were trained at all you would see clearly that they had no sense of the values expressed in either value.
I respect veterans for having the balls to get off the couch and risk their ass, BUT they do NOT defend our Constitutional rights, nor defend the American people. Modern wars are fought for the multinational corporations and bankers that seek to enslave us.
All I can say is nick struggled with PTSD for a while so I’d assume he put the guns down for a while as well, since he ALSO tried taking his own life at one point. Comp shooters are the best in the world at a target from a set range. But moving targets rain know shine with a few seconds to hit your target is tough. Ever heard of people who work best under pressure? People who fail class work but ace every test? The conditions they are shooting in is more foreign then not. If you notice nick got better the faster he tried to move while shooting. And lastly as far as language goes it’s different from comp and real life combat. There’s plenty of professional mechanics who use technical terms vs regular car guys you meet at cars and coffee. For example I argued a guy down on the term “boosted” as he was speaking on his “procharged” vette yet no one besides technical people refer to boosted as its definition name. The term boosted is only ever used for “turbos” not regular forced induction. The point of what I’m saying is the technical terms you want them to have they won’t and the reason why they aren’t on the same page is because they don’t have the chemistry which is why they seem so awkward together. In comparison to comp where everyone is on the same page or people or the difference between each individual is very slight and easy to adjust to
Given that moving targets are commonplace in PRS comps, I'd bet on Piet to hit it instead of Nick. All of his hunting videos showing that ability to hit moving targets and targets whose range is changing just reinforces that. The "technical terms" aren't terms they're units of angular measurement and are not equal. 2 MIL does not equal 2 MOA in any lingo. That'd be like saying feet are the same thing as yards. The sniper worship in the comments here is what incentivizes snipers to lie about their accomplishments, like most of the famous ones do.
@@jimothy-johnson we can agree to disagree, I see your points and I’m not saying they aren’t valid I’m saying cut the man some slack. It’s not worship it’s respect. Great jobs Pete, it’s channels like your’s that actually teach and provide us entertainment that make shooting enjoyable. Remember that anyone can put out content on TH-cam, but it doesn’t make it true or worth watching.
I spent 10 years in the Marines and I was a POG, NGL that was cringeworthy for me to watch. 15 rounds to get on target at 300 yards. I will definitely blame a lot of it on lack of meaningful communication and lack of fundamentals. There was a lot of back and forth large adjustments. That being said, I'm sure he was on point when he needed to be and when he was constantly training. Shooting accurately is a perishable skill.
Every other video I've seen of Nick shooting, he has been on point. I wonder of he was trying to avoid showing Lunker up on his own channel. Although, he never really seems to have issues when he is on Demolition Ranch, either
When I went to basic training in 1999, they showed us how to hit targets out to 500 yards using iron sights on the m-16a2 service rifle. Hitting at 500 yards with a scoped high end precision bolt action rifle, using a .308 cartridge should be a chip shot.
@@copo2835Nick was never a sniper, he was a designated marksman he doesn't really know what he's doing, he tells the internet he was a sniper bc it gets him game and money

He is not discrediting Nick's service in the military; the video was just objectively poor shooting. It may have been due to a combination of them not actually trying, the spotter communicating information poorly, Nick being a bit rusty, etc but nonetheless it was poor shooting.
@@r2020E My problem is making the video in the first place. Putting his pic in the thumbnail and implying he’s a troll. As well as these worthless duffle bags in the comments talking smack from behind a keyboard. I think it’s problematic and disrespectful to call him out like that over one video. Nick is a decorated sniper who performed in combat. Sure his military peers might criticize him, but not in this way. Because they know what he’s done and understand what he’s been through and sacrificed.
This was clearly an issue of having a spotter not giving the right info to Nick. Also, Rob was the trigger puller overseas and obviously didn’t keep up on his spotter ability since he basically does mostly fishing now.
This is clearly two people that can’t zero a rifle. The splash of a .308win at 300 yards is easily evident in the PIP frame on my tiny cell phone. Through the glass is a cake walk. A scout sniper should not be missing static targets within 700 yards with a .308. Especially the Fed GMM loading that he was using at the end of the vid. I can understand being reliant on the spotter for range and atmospherics, but known ranges are simple with any decent training (like a 2 day precision rifle course). He should be center plate by 3rd shot, and all hits after that from prone off a bag.
@@christopherfreeman3095 You're absolutely correct, and I remember watching this video and thinking, "Is this a joke? Are they high???" Lunkers has always rubbed me in a wrong way as being overly cocky. His Ukraine War coverage is super cringe. You'd think he believes he's Norman Schwarzkopf. I'm pretty sure he wasn't a military strategist in Afghanistan. In fact I'm positive of it, but you wouldn't know it from watching him talk about predictions of BOTH Ukraine's and Russia's entire military game plans. He's always been overly cocky and unless you're Nick, you're not half the rifle shot he is. He just assumes how great he is out of the gate compared to everyone. Now that they're all teaming up with Demo-Ranch and Kentucky Ballistics, you get a chance to see them on multiple weapons platforms and it's rare Lunkers shows up. Nick also looks uncomfortable with most weapons outside of a bolt gun and an AR variant. I can't dispute Nick having a large number of confirmed kills in combat, and while that's admirable, it doesn't make you the best marksman in the world. The guys by the truck in this video are thinking exactly what we are: Wow...this is embarrassing. It's like 2 monkeys f***ing a football. I got into shooting at a very young age. I've competed in 3 gun, intermediate, and large caliber long range shooting competitions and get togethers all over Kentucky, my home state of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, and there's some Country Boys out here that'll embarrass you with a 7mm mag deer rifle. We've pushed out past 1000 with .408, 6.5, .338, and some obscure loads and have pulled off some pretty great shots in conditions that were far from optimal, and I'd never make a video this pretentious. This, and his military commander role-play, have shown me all I needed to see. Not to sound like lunkers, but at 300, all I need is my 15" AR with an eotech and a magnifier to get hits like this. I'm far from the only one that can do it too.
They seem like they are just guessing for the most part. I would really love to see your opinion on (MarkandSam after work) Some of their videos are surprising what they manage to hit targets with at long range.
Mark and Sam are awesome educational and entertaining videos and very grounded folks hard working and you can see there progression through the years with there videos and they sell great parts
Definitely some questions. I watched this one when it originally came out and had some of the same reactions. The scope appears to be a Vortex Diamondback "Tactical" 4-12x40(the only one with the fiber optic on the windage turret) which had a MOA reticle.
Had the same exact scope on a Ruger American predator in 6.5 creedmoor for a few years. Such a nice scope that made walking the shot in so easy. Shot to over 1000 yards with it with less issue than these dudes.
I remember when this video came out and how it was an instant meme throughout the PRS community. Their shooting was absolutely atrocious and the people who defended them was even more cringy
He sighted in the rifle, takes like 10 shots scattered around the 500 yards. Mean while you shot the king of 1 mile without missing until the 1 mile range.
Where I come from we have a name for guys like you. "Diploma" Dudes with their knowledgeable B.S that doesn’t do shit for you, especially when rounds are zipping past your head. These guys have been in combat and seen traumatic scenes, so what if they drop F bombs, you have obviously never been part of a brotherhood. Thank you brother's for your service.
I’ve made reasonable shots at 300-1000 with inferior scopes and cartidges and holding in thin air without requiring too many follow ups. (Lots of practice). The inability to use a mil-grid or turrets which greatly assist in first round hits is bonkers for spec-ops guys.
As a Navy Vet, your video reminds me of the fresh out collage midshipman who could perfectly navigate a ship under basic sea fairing conditions, but I have literally watched many melt under pressure of real world combat situations when AV-8 jump jets are landing 10 feet from the bridge and helos taking off on the aft end. Shooting @ targets and slow moving animals is one thing, but when u add in a mission and real life or death scenarios theoretical experience and practical experience are separate things, but I am sure you reach your goal of gaining more viewers.
Although what you are saying is true that’s completely irrelevant to the fact that they did a very poor job communicating with each other. With that logic if he was truly that bad in a calm scenario how bad would he be under pressure. What’s most likely is that they were just messing around.
@@reddirtwarrior5956 I get your point but imagine if that military sniper were to take a precision shooter into combat, the perfect technical jargon, and waiting for the perfect precision shots would be thrown right out the window. That military person could make the same video, but title it "Precision Shooter Folds Under Combat Pressure."
@@reddirtwarrior5956 and I get that this is not combat, but most of the operators that I know will tell you is that all they need is an 80% solution to solve combat situations because there are two many variables, what I saw in the video are guys who still stick to that even when he is making a TH-cam Video.
@@keithm.8230 I agree that being under pressure has a lot to do with how someone performs. I’m not denying that he is very lethal it was just strange how poorly they communicated. Of course in a real combat situation you’d be lucky to have a spotter. I think in all reality he was just screwing around. He wasn’t prone trying to get on target at 300 yards most of the precision shooters talking crap couldn’t do that without being in prone.
I watched this guy “review” a budget rifle a couple years back and called BS on his knowledge and ability almost immediately. He seemed angry and rushed throughout the video. He completely shit in the rifle for not performing on the same level as rifles he (may or may not) have owned or that he has used prior. It was absolutely unprofessional, foul mouthed and impatient. It was as if he was offended to have to shoot and discuss an inexpensive, budget rifle. I think it was a 6.5 Creedmoor in a Ruger American if memory serves. Honestly, his primary motivation seemed to be that he wanted his audience to know that he is an alpha. Literally NOTHING I’ve seen from my his guy has been quality content, nor has he provided insightful, useful information, only “I’m the man, I do dope things, and I have cool sh$t.” Ugh.

You are witnessing guys that a very much out of practice. If you don’t use it, you CAN lose it. Utmost respect for you as well as lunkers, and Nick. It is very obvious that you are currently in your prime and very good at what you do. I do remember watching this a year ago and noticing the same thing, but I attributed it to being way out of practice
Nicholas was definitely getting annoyed with Rob as Rob was never really in a spotter role when enlisted and was giving him horrible calls. I think the reason nicholas wasn’t correcting his own shots until the end was because as a sniper you rely on your spotter to give you the correct calls. We also have 2 different classes of snipers here, there’s Rob who was a basic sniper who would go out with SEAL teams sometimes and then there’s Nicholas Irving who was Master Sniper of his platoon, a team leader, and was a tier 2 operator who had tons of training and would go out with tier one dudes. Not to discredit this video but there’s plenty of videos with great sniper lingo of Nicholas. He has one on his channel named Reaper 33 on his channel that was created a few years back. My dad served as a 1st Battalion Ranger Sniper and as a sniper MILS are engraved into your brain, all your scopes and equations use mils instead of MOA. So it makes sense that when Nicholas is annoyed and just wanting to hit the target and get half decent shots off that he’ll go back to the basics and ask Rob for corrections in the units Rob learned in. At the end of the day it was just a couple of guys plinking around and there’s multiple factors that goes into this video. However I think the video was horrible in terms of Rob giving accurate corrections and the corrections made by Nicholas as he probably confused himself going back and forth between units of measurment.
Nicholas was never a sniper, and never had a spotter, he was a designated marksman he shot between 200 and 600 yards, he just says he was a sniper on the internet for clout
I spent five years in 1st Bat and have been a police counter sniper for over twenty years. They are obviously having fun at the range and not trying to do things the way they were trained. It’s not hard to tell they are former military dudes having fun. I’d be willing to bet this guy has OCD and other social problems based on his interpretation of the video.
I stopped watching a lot of shooting videos several years ago for this exact reason. After competing in f class then progressing into elr shooting about 10 years ago, the more I learnt, the more frustrating it is to watch 90% of the so called experts. I would of been upset about wasting ammo sighting in if my bore sight was that bad....Anyway Pete, keep doing your thing and try not get side tracked by the clowns that are in abundance.
Did bro just break down a video of 2 dudes having fun and critique it as if they were tryna prove something is WILD. What a clown 🤡 Let them live. He's already did what he needed to do.
He is calling this guy's bullshit that's all if you actually learn to shoot those skills don't leave you if they do you never learned them to begin with
@@fishlife1013 Okay and the difference between the two is one shoots things that don't shoot back the other shoots at things that shoot back. I'm not saying this guy is a bad shooter, but both is trained in two different fields. Now I agree if they were to have a shooting competition on none moving targets this guy would most likely win. But throw these two in a biome or terrain to try killing each other id put my life savings on nick. because that's where he's trained on.
Also, for some reason, the US military at some point (probably when Nick was active duty) did mix mils and MOA, I kid you not. So Nick may actually have the most practice using an MOA scope but making adjustments in mils 🤷♂️
It is a perfect example of why most TH-cam videos on shooting are apparently trying to appeal to a LCD audience to boost views and subscribers rather than provide real information, I have watched a lot of things like this for purely entertainment purposes or examples of what not to do. Thank you for sharing a more detailed analysis, unfortunately it probably won’t get as many views as things that play to armchair soldiers.
Totally different game you play. Nick is legit. He was just having fun and messing around and I didn’t think he was acting as if it was super awesome he was just having a good time
Been shooting for 37 years and hunting for 20 years. Saw their vid some time ago and remember thinking "wtf are they doing? That's so complicated and utterly false zeroing practice".
Saw this video a while ago. I can tell you this doesn't speak to the true shooting ability or training of a SOF sniper. I have to believe they were clowning around. Unfortunately, they look very inadequate. I won't demean their service, but their video should have never been posted, especially as any type of tutorial.
Completely agree with you, I know some gentlemen that use to be snipers in their day that shoot incredibly well. They are also humble and down to earth and I have never heard them bragging about how many people they have killed.
I had basic training in the Philippines Navy, just watching you, I can’t imagine your frustrations. Thanks for your videos, I am new in building precision rifles for hunting and I am learning from your videos. I am buying some MDT products now. Thanks to you.
I watched this a WHILE ago and it was just atrocious to watch. They jumble corrections, mix up MOA and MILs, change positions. Makes no sense to anyone that knows what they’re doing. These guys are not representative of real special ops snipers… Check out Phil and Caylen at modern day sniper.. I’ll be honest, if I can’t zero a rifle in 5 or 6 shots I get embarrassed. Usually my bore sight puts me a few inches from center at 100. If they had just zeroed on paper then started the video it would have hidden a lot of their incompetence. Also they’re way too excited for 300 yards… I can hit 300 yards with irons on my M16a4 clone EASILY. These guys are essentially larping
I'm not really sure but I think this is a reupload or something I've seen this reaktion video last year or something and if you scroll through the comments you can see that there are comments from a year ago even though the "upload date" is today 😅
Nick is an actual veteran, sniper in the military, maybe Marines? Not 100% sure on the branch. He has a decent kill amount. But yeah, this video is hard to watch. I can only assume that he's been out of the military for a while and hasn't done much of this. That's what I want to say, anyway lol.
@@Lovell93 yeah, I know all about Nick. Not knocking his military service at all. He's a bad dude, but this video he released with LunkersTV was a poor display of skill and a bit much on the ego part. They could be a little more humble. Shooting is still just shooting regardless of military accolades. That's why a lot of these guys stay out of the competition world, because they would get smoked by every day people if the task was just shooting. Guys like Nick are highly trained in tactics, fieldcraft, and putting bullets on bad guys that get within their comfort zone - things I personally know nothing about.. but I can zero a rifle in 5 shots and if I'm prone I probably won't miss my second shot - and I'm just some random guy that likes to shoot a lot
In fairness to Lunkers and Nick, precision shooting =/= sniping. Waaaaay more to sniping than just shooting. Shooting is a key part, but you have tools to help you over come that (plus daily training that they haven't had in almost 2 decades for lunkers, idk how long for nick) like they aren't those guys any more. I use to ruck 15-20 miles fairly easily, now I'd struggle and some recreational hiker could easily destroy me out there, doesn't make him a better infantryman that I was just means I'm far removed from my glory days and he's current. I'm not saying this justifies the complete shit show, but just keep in mind these guys haven't been billy badass in a while, but when they needed to be they did, in fact, get it done.
Unrelated to nick but the wooden troll in the cover photo of this video is from aullwood farm in Dayton, Ohio. I live 30 minutes from that location. I watch all of your content but when I saw the troll it especially caught my attention. Keep up the great content brother.
I remember watching this video when it released and it almost entirely put me off of long range. I figured "well if this is what a pro sniper looks like, then what's the point?" So glad I decided to try it myself, sooo much fun.
This. He clearly doesn't understand the difference between a precision shooter and a sniper. Anyone can lay on the ground and shoot a target with a dialed rifle and a ballistic calculator. Not everyone can stalk and identify targets without being detected, and make fast adjustmentsunder stress. If this guy was dropped in a forest with nick, he wouldn't make it out.
@@610610billy610610Thanks for pointing that out man. That's the kind of comment I wanted to see. He's bragging so much in the video but man I bet that he wouldn't survive Nik in a 1-on-1 combat situation in the forest. He wouldn't make it. Nik would easily kill him.
I had watched this vid a few weeks ago and was very unimpressed, i thought he was full of crap, i am ex military and know special ops guys are a lot less full of themselves. I turned it off half way through it.
Lunkers is an actual army sniper combat veteran and the other guy who is sniping is a 75th ranger combat veteran sniper there is a video on lunkers tv to shut up most people where lunkers shoots by himself and no spotter
I remember watching that video before I got into shooting and thought it was brilliant, after about a year of shooting and wasting a boat load of money and ammo I came across impact shooting, it inspired me to get into matches, to cut down on useless kit, to get to know my kit better and it made me a better shooter. No disrespect to lunkers and nick I still think they’re funny guys and I love the American shooting community, but thanks to Peter and the shooting community in the UK I’d say I’m a better shooter now than what they showed in that video. So here’s to you Peter! 🍻
Bc Nick was never a sniper and doesn't really know much about it, he was a designated marksman, he tells the internet he was a sniper bc it makes him money and fame
I asked him why he found it so funny and he said I've always been curious how the shittiest jobs in the military become the sexiest you would think you'd think motor pool or accounting or any other that doesn't require being shot at would be the jobs people would really want to go for but maybe that's because they never heard somebody tell him I would sacrifice 10 of you for one good logistics guy while your covered in mosquito bites and your balls be chafing so bad you want to just cry but everybody sees themselves is the hero not the guy who buys it during the opening credits cuz you didn't want somebody looking at him while he was taking a shit
I am so glad you made this video! I watched him do this last year sometime and couldn’t believe how horrible he did. The lingo was all over the place and I didn’t understand why he kept swapping from MOA to Mil. I am also a veteran and have the utmost respect for them. However, they can’t shoot worth a crap.

You will love it. I put my Mossberg Patriot .308 in to an MDT LSS Gen 2 with a folding stock adapter and an SCS buttstock. That brought the Patriot to an average of 1 MOA after 60 rounds of heat. And just recently, I put my TC Compass II in an Oryx, the sister company to MDT. In fact, the shipping info comes from an MDT email. To me, chassis are so great precisely because they are adjustable. And the metal frame is superior to any other kind of bedding.
My goodness. All I'm going to say here, is that the dude making this video seems like a decent kid, but very young, and while I may be wrong here, I don't believe he has ever had to examine and successfully overcome all the variables involved in examining intelligence on an area, deciding your shooting location and ingress, knowing the consequences if you fuck up, then laying perfectly still at times, while being eaten by ants, mosquitos, mites and God knows what, while trying to ignore the dysentery cramps and your own smell, acquiring your target, killing another human being to protect your brothers and then being basically interrogated afterward, aa if you were under investigation for murder. These guys are out having a good time, in a very LOW STAKES- HIGH FUN environment. Cut them some slack.

Good thing the targets weren't moving or shooting back, you are spot on a sniper and spotter work hand and hand so they can surive down range and complete the op.
Seems like the review was a bit on the personal side, from your reactions and criticisms. Your normal demeanor is a lot more endearing and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your precious videos. I have no previous military experience and am an admitted pretty novice shooter, but if I had to guess it would be that running and gunning in the military might be a bit like working in a donut shop, the last thing you want to eat when you get home is a donut. For others it may be quite the opposite. I would expect their skills to drop off a bit as any other perishable skill if not practicing regularly. In the grand scheme of things, Its not that big of a deal, just a couple of guys out having a bit of fun shooting, you shouldn’t take what others do so seriously. It doesn’t seem like lunkers is trying to compete in the same space that you are in, so to expect them to be as proficient as you would be a bit unreasonable.
I agree with you. These guys shoot for a past time not a living. And personally (being a novice to long range and vehemently hating to zero optics) 15 rounds to get on target isn’t that much especially when you can literally pick up those exact same loads from the store. Hand loads maybe a bit dif.
This is incredibly valuable tuition from you Pieter. Learning from others mistakes (including your own) is always the way to go, clearly you can offend but if you desire to become better in your art then you must accept that there is always room for improvement (humility). If you ever feel like trying offshore sailing holla back. Peace
Damn my confidence was so high like I could’ve been the deadliest sniper in us history after watching their video and then back down to nothing again after your video. Irving can’t use the excuse he hasn’t shot in a while he definitely gets invited every day and goes a lot.
That's Nick the Reaper right? I've seen him on a few podcasts and he seemed pretty solid. Not sure what he's doing here but wandering if he dumbed it down to fit it with the other clowns. Sure seems odd though.
exactly, This is dude doing the breakdown is taking their play time and screw around time way too serious. ITS CRINGEY WATCHING THIS DUDE REACT TO THIS AND TAKE IT SERIOUS
So many variables here. World's Deadliest Sniper != World's Best Sniper, or at least, it doesn't have to be. The world's Deadliest sniper could just mean that he stacked the most bodies. Could be 2 mile shots, could be fish in a barrel. That title is meaningless outside of holding a record. There could be thousands of better shooters that never have the "opportunity" to achieve a record. Is he the best? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe he just got "lucky". But that doesn't mean he can't hold the title of deadliest. He was an Army Ranger, which are no joke, and he has 33 confirmed kills, which is a significant count and likely far from a total.
It’s funny that precision shooters shit on this guy. I’m a radio operator and highly doubt HAM guys could effectively operate how I do my job successfully. Different worlds. Regardless of the basics.
I served in 75th Ranger Regiment. Swearing is an "art form". The use of the "F" word is an art form. You can routinely hear the "F" word being used twice in one sentence. That being said, i was a bit older when i was in and while i did swear a lot back then... and still do from time to time... i'm fucking over it now. LOL I think what happens is that when you serve.. and especially during war time... your brain sort of reverts to its more base "Kill or be Killed" mode. At least that's my feeling having served there myself. The "group think" also has a strong influence on the way you talk, carry yourself and the way you think. That being said... the older you are... with the more life experience before you come in... you can think a little bit more for yourself and walk to the beat of your own drum a little bit more. I know i did and people nick named me "Tiger Land" because of it. If you've seen that movie.. you'll understand. I pretty much did my own thing... the way i wanted to. One last point... i wasn't a sniper when i was in. I was a spec ops combat medic. I'm in the medical field now. All that being said, i have taught myself how to shoot long range since getting out of the military. (after being shot twice and getting a medical discharge). I have hit out over a mile on 18" steel. I have hit a spray paint can in 2 shots at 910 yards from the top of a windy mountain to the side of another mountain. I have made some really nice shots in very windy conditions in the mountains where i live now.. .but it's because i'm passionate about it and i shoot at least once a week and usually twice a week. I also have a good head on my shoulders and can learn things relatively quickly. There's a lot of jack ass types in the military and even SOF. It is what it is. I never cared for those types but without them, the military would certainly be a lot thinner on man power.
I’ve shot the majority of my life (open pistol, 3 gun, and long range) and this is absolutely ridiculous…. To start with the language makes them sound 14 and me and my shooting buddy can do that in no time. I stand behind and support anyone in our military but that was pretty sad!
Agreed- ive never shot competitively nor was in military- but myself and any of my dis-functional buddies would have no problem sighting in a 308 at 300 yrds with less than four shots- and that’s if we had just picked up a rifle we had never used and slapped a scope we bought on way there from walmart on the clearance isle- we don’t know shyt about mils or MOA either- we just know how to shoot- we give corrections to each other in target sizes and rarely at that- because we know how to use our own eyes and coordinate our own corrections- and not to mention we rarely miss-
Y’all do realize military guys mostly do a job rather then specifically use their weapon as much. Any competition shooter could probably out shoot mil guys, as a veteran that’s not our biggest point of focus, being proficient at completing the mission is the case. And for snipers their main job is recon not necessarily actually using their sniper, many don’t even use it when they go out on missions

I spent half a day yesterday with Charlie Melton, seal Sniper retired and now precision instructor. We sighted a CZ 457 .22 at 50 yards until I was placing bullets exactly where I wanted them. Then the wind picked up, gusting 16+ mph, and we decided to go for an IPSC at 289 yards. With .22’s, we were consistently hitting on that target using StrelokPro. Now we struggled with those gusts some, but we’re talking within a mil and still consistently hit until we were going for headshots :). I honestly believe they had a bad day of shooting but were just having fun goofing around, which honestly is what lunker’s channel mostly is. I don’t think Nick shot like this in service 😛. I have a video I posted where I included misses, and I’ve literally had death threats on that video. But it’s also my most watched video currently (which sucks but also happens to be monetized so I’m not complaining). As shooters, I would say it’s more important to just do the right thing and support others, lifting them as we can. We all make mistakes and sometimes even post it to TH-cam; I just hope my mistakes don’t get used to describe my whole meaning :).
My goodness I don't think Nick shot like this during his service either. But damn son, its not like his been retired for 35years and only picking up a rifle before this video again. 289yards with a 22rimfire is nuts in that wind! Well done!

Dakota didn’t say that. This guy is missing the point of a sniper. Many pro shooters can Zero a rifle MUCH faster than a US army sniper. A snipers job is to evade the enemy-recon and kill a target. The fact is IF you took the best competition long range shooter and put then on a battle field… they would probably die. A snipers job isn’t just shooting lol. That was dakotas point. @@IMPACTSHOOTING don’t you have a video title 33 kills? Unless you consider other mammals not living. Beside that my point on bringing his confirm kills is to show case his skills when he was in active duty and Nick states he retired from the army due to PTSD which led to his drinking also affecting his shooting skills. Yes this video puts him in a bad light but knowing his background is also important on knowing why his skills are lacking. @@IMPACTSHOOTINGYou literally said and i quote 'Watched a lot of movies and played too much COD.' when referring to them. Not sure about the other guy, but Nick hasn't been in the military for some years prior to this video. He's not training every day as if he's going to war, which is literally what he did. He suffered with alcoholism and PTSD. Their video, whilst a bit clumsy, was just two guy's shooting the sh1t as they say. Now you on the other hand, have never been in the military, you've never had to fire your gun at another human being. That is a whole other level to what a competitive shooter is. The mindset it takes to take a human life is way above someone who has only ever shot competitively. Until you've walked in their shoes, seen your brothers bodies ripped apart from IED's, seen heads explode and watch your brothers die, but you manage to make it home alive, only then can you question their ability. And who cares he speaks on how many lives he's taken, that's his story, maybe that's his way of healing. You have no idea what living with PTSD every day, does to a person. Your story is nothing in comparison, but you chose to make a video to critique their ability. It was two guy's bonding over their trauma and just shooting for sh1ts and giggles. And then you want to flex by posting a video shooting the same gun and same range. You should be ashamed at your grift to get attention, purely because for whatever reason, you're bitter at the amount of followers they have. If you and Nick were dropped out on a location, having to find a good sniper spot, get there without being noticed and then make the shot to take someone's life. Guess which one of you is going to make that shot, it sure as hell wouldn't be you.
I agree with everything you said. The one thing that really confused me that wasn't mentioned was: if you're having problems hitting a target from prone why would you move to a less stable position(kneeling) like at 6:38?
I hate shooting prone, my neck is short so I'd always get kinks in my neck sighting in for to long periods of time. Kneeling on the other hand I can hold it for hours if need be lol
I can hear the anger and frustration in your voice. I felt the same way. I have watched Nick's videos and I like them. Lunker though, I can't watch his stuff. It's like watching the Kardahians. I follow this channel as well as watch a lot of stuff from Nick. I don't really enjoy Lunker's channel and sometimes watch his fishing content on occasion, but it seems too "youtubish" for me on the whole. If that makes any sense. That being said; I really don't like YOUR video on this. Generally, I avoid any of these videos where people on TH-cam are dumping on each other for the point of showing how much better they are than the person they're dumping on.

"I dont know why he's swearing so much" - In the US Army especially among the Infantry, swearing is a normal part of everyday life. Thats just how it is. Yup, it's just a different dialect of American English.

Im just glad you took the time to be respectful yet ask the questions people aren't asking about some of these influencers
I’m glad you did this video, I stopped watching Lunkers years ago cuz he would pimp out his sniper background and kill my expectations on his knowledge and skills. He used to be decently modest many years ago but he just annoys the heck out of me
Googan baits also suck really bad
I used to love his stuff, but he got too much moola and became a bit of a dick. Havent watched him in years. Jon B is still the same!
Id argue that you and your dad had one more person that knew what they were doing compared to these two
When I first watched Lunkers video I thought it was just 2 guys out having a good time shooting. It sucks if there are individuals out there that believe that's how long it actually takes to properly zero your set up however, I don't believe this video showed their true abilities to seriously get a rifle ready. Nicholas Irving was a former sniper in the 3rd ranger batallion. Important to note that he is not killing people for a living anymore and is probably out there just chatting shit trying to have a good time. I’m sure if it was someone’s head and his life was on the line, this would be a very different video.
Yea people don’t get that lol
@@710vet3 They're both snipers.
@@MF-Rell what!!? Yea scrap what, I said this guy won.

I speculate the spotter was using a ballistic calculator or spotting scope set for MOA and he doesn't know how to either change the settings to MILS or he can't make that changeover calculation in his head (which most any seasoned long range shooter can do fairly easily.)
There is a tremendous amount of pressure in the US to put combat veterans on a pedestal. As a veteran myself, in a family of retired veterans, I feel ok saying DUDE BROS like these and the guys at Black Rifle Coffee and the like get a free pass on acting like jackasses on social media.
I've never been in the military and find this video cringeworthy.
When I went to basic training in 1999, they showed us how to hit targets out to 500 yards using iron sights on the m-16a2 service rifle. Hitting at 500 yards with a scoped high end precision bolt action rifle, using a .308 cartridge should be a chip shot.

The man hit his targets in combat with his life on the line, that’s all I need to know. The amount of disrespect in these comments is unbelievable.
Exactly...how many of these other ppl can say the same?
@SHAK3 N Because you say so. Got it.
U fell for the scam. 😂
@@christopherfreeman3095 oh really

@@dontbetreadin4777 exactly
When I watched the video I got the vibe of it being way more just fun and relaxed screwing around, not being super serious shooting.
LOL
I think what happens is that when you serve.. and especially during war time... your brain sort of reverts to its more base "Kill or be Killed" mode.
@@Jrod110 Bull.
I'm former military myself, and I absolutely had to be proficient with the various weapons systems that I used.
These guys don't know basic shooting fundamentals, but they're passing themselves off as elite.
It's embarrassing
Language wise, as active duty we definitely use a curse word every so other word in our sentences when we are bullshitting with our buddies
@@M240D nick Irving is passing himself off as elite? He’s retired and he knows it. His time serving and sniping is over and he’s not claiming to be son deity. Relax bud

So I’m a combat veteran Iraq war 2007-2008. I’ve worked with soldiers that when we were in garrison(in the USA ) preformed extremely well in training but in theater(war zone) all that went out of the window. The guys that were average seeming soldiers back home were straight savages with ice water in their veins. When it really counted!
I always asked myself why everyone liked this guy. Hearing his stories I could tell he was full of it.
He was in combat and his military record isn't in question so idk what you're talking about
@@Loyal69 No one is denying that. However, listening to his stories of these "epic tales" and what he did always sounded fake and the fact that he can't zero in for 300 without taking 10+ shots just doesn't add up.
@@crypt0sFX I don't really think you should take a video of tow guys having fun too seriously. It's like Messi casually playing football with a fan and your calling him trash because he wasn't dominating. @@CoreTradingMastery Really bad argument, he's clearly trying to hit his shots in the video. Sure they were messing around, however his reputation was on the line as that was the whole point of the video and he failed miserably.
@@crypt0sFX Reputation on the line? Bruh He has a 100+ confirmed kills. His own battle footage is on TH-cam he has nothing to prove.
Well done!
@@IMPACTSHOOTING it was certainly a fun day of shooting with 22’s 😃.
I do like how you invited anyone to come to a match and shoot with y’all to learn how to really get on target; that’s exactly the kind of thing we need :).
May I ask where the wind was coming from? Was it straight on from the front or behind? Or did it come from left or right?
@@andrewstoll4548 it was blowing from the 3-5 o’clock position; the up drafts at that range are due to its location in a canyon. I had close to a mil of additional elevation when it was gusting hard.
It also helps to look through the optic as you make a correction.
Personally shot with Nick. I have one of his guns that was made early by Arsenal democracy, the owner a prior seal team member, owned. It was an Ar15 with a shilen barrel. The guy can flat out shoot. Idgaf about nothing you guys say.
When he said “I’m going 2 revs up”, my eyebrows went 2 revs up.. then, you put up 2 fingers: and had the exactly same expression on your face. The whole office heard me crack up laughing! Thanks for another great video, this was a fun format!
fkn oath, I was like, wait what, he went from 5moa to 2 whole revs in elevation.... is it a red dot? haha
‘Never want to close the bolt unless you are on target’. That wouldn’t go over well amongst military folks.
Glad I'm not the only one that was astonished when I watched this. I found these guys from Demo Ranch, and wow. As a hobby shooter/long range shooter, I don't claim to be any pro, but I've been speechless watching these two's videos. Not calling them frauds, but me and my hunting buddies have taken new rifles, zero'd and got dope to 1000y before these guys got zero...
I should add, no disrespect to these two, or any vets. I'm not hating or anything, just weary and possibly, disappointed.
Well one of them uses the name "Reaper".... yeah, no.
Nobody gets to choose their own name. Sounds like The Raven, or Ghost Wolf or some other video game bs. If you pay any attention you will notice that he says far, far away from other SF guys on youtube.
Ever notice how guys like Tim Kennedy, Joco Willick, Mike Glover, Andy Stumpf never ever mention their war names?
Devolution Raunch is what that group should call themselves. I can't make it past 3 mins on any video of theirs. Very creepy vibe to me. But they do have their fans.

This is yet another example that you don’t have to be a military member to train as Dakota would have you think. You get out what you put in just like anything in life. I appreciate all who served. Now, for the rest of my civilians out there, train like you’re life depends on it, hopefully it never will.
I might be one of the few to know that reference to Dakota. I would invite others here who know about it see Garand Thumb's rebuttal to that rant by Dakota.
@@ronws2007 Exactly people took Dakota out of context.
Most citizens train for “perfection” while in war it’s more of killing without being seen
@@vrcmf3172 Snipers are still required to be proficient with their weapon system.
As a light machine gunner I had to shoot often to maintain proficiency, especially leading up to deployments.
These guys came off a complete amateurs.
It isn't that they weren't up to par with a pro shooter, it's that they didn't appear to know what they were doing at all.

I'm only 16 and just brought my first scope with moveable turrets and I already get that MOA and Mrad are two different measurements. switching back and forth sighting in is not a good idea.
Yeah you got this guy Pieter Malan who is just an competitive shooter who is criticizing Nick(an actual vet) “The Reaper” who had 33 confirm kills in 4 months consider top 10 deadliest snipers in USA history who has been transparent about his struggles with alcoholism and PTSD since retiring from the Army. Next time take account on how PTSD can affect a vet after leaving the service before passing judgment on their skills after leaving the service.
I focused on the skills and not Nick as a person. Having said that, I don’t condone those bragging openly about how many lives they have taken like its some sort of flex.
That’s like judging you on how you would be as a cyclist now without knowing your background
