Gurlitt - Little Flowers Op. 201, No. 1

  • Cornelius Gurlitt (Feb. 10, 1820 - Jun. 17, 1901) was a German composer. His studies took him from Germany to Copenhagen, where he'd reside as an organist and music teacher for 4 years, before moving to Leipzig, then finally Rome. His breadth of compositions ranged from songs, cantatas, symphonies, and operas.
    This is the 1st of 12 pieces from his Op. 205 work: Kleine Blumen (Little Flowers). Repetitive? Yes. But it sounds nice. I've been playing a lot of Gurlitt lately.
    Also, for some reason this recording had a lot more static than normal. I'll have to figure that out for next week. Maybe unplugging and plugging in the cords will fix it.
