This. Preferably one for current gen consoles but I doubt that will happen. I think another reboot would be best. Move the conflicts beyond taking place on one world, be it Earth or Mars, And move it beyond the Sol system as well. Maybe have the game set in the aftermath on an apocalyptic event that devastates humanity's colonies, or at least the colonies in the region that game takes place in. Various surviving factions blame each other and start fighting it out with discovering the truth behind what happened being a key part of the plot. Instead of forcing the player to start with a pre-made Core allow them the option to build a Core by purchasing parts from a selection of starter level components using a pool of money. Of course include a selection of pre-built Cores to purchase for players who don't want to make a custom Core before playing any missions. Maybe include a side story mode similar to Formula Front. There is some planet that has valuable resource but for some reason crewed units can't be deployed there so factions send automated mining gear to harvest the resources while using AI controlled Cores to defend their operations and attack hostile operations.
The most enticing part but Armored Core games is the prospect that you get real control over how to build the internals of your core. The power core, the radiator, the computer system, that's what really hits the spot in the armored Core Series. That's what really makes it special, and stand above other mech games.
This is what still draws me to armored core to this day. The story of 3, SL, and LR are great but the fact that there are hundreds of customization options and no one suit type is a give all guarantee style to beat the game easily. Hell I even tried using a few flight variants and realized that a zoom and boom tactic is somewhat better than just sitting there with a tank firing round after round. Sure you're not doing the damage but you're keeping the damage off of yourself which affects your grade just as much. The fact that armored core factored in so much is just amazing and well worth it to be launched again in today's day and age. Sadly though I doubt From Software nor the former developers want to work on another AC game..... No matter how successful it could be now....
That was the WORST part! There were only two or three optimal parts per internal type once you can get them all. And as a friend commented years ago, there should have been only one turn speed, and three weight classes of legs (light, med, heavy) that make part selection faster 100 times over.
Ah, Armored Core...I wonder how many hours of my childhood I spend designing the perfect mech. And oh the joy of finding out that you're 1lb overweight, and having to scrap the design and start over.
To be honest, I'd love to see a sort of AC and soulsbourne hybrid. With more focus on the melee weapons than the traditional mech gunplay. Not saying lose all the guns, but rather make them powerful sub weapons. Really most weapons used in AC could feasibly only carry a fraction of the ammunition, like missile pods etc. Just a thought.
@@SuperRoboPopoto And the mech designer of that hybrid could be Hideaki Anno, because these are gonna be biological mechs, much like the EVA units in Evangelion. This was just a theory.
@@abrahamambriz892 maybe, maybe not. But most mech games generally(Or at least the good ones) amount to how much firepower you can lob down field while simultaneously evading or covering return fire. AC is notorious for this, particularly with missile weapons. Get a lock and spam hundreds of missiles towards your opponent. Most are going to miss or get taken out by ams. There have always been ammunition limits, but generally they're very forgiving in AC at least.
I think Daemon ex Machina is going to scratch a lot of the same itches as FA.. It plays pretty similarly when you adjust the control scheme to be more like it, and looks like there'll be a good variety of interesting giant bosses... Spirit of Motherwill, and the Answerer are what defined FA for me...
@@richardconnor2871 Ah man I used the Aaliya parts because they were what you started off with and they looked real sleek. Later I used the white glint parts when I got them because of respect I suppose. Carrying on his name in a way
I've been a fan of the armored core series since I was about 10 years old. 18 years later I am still eagerly awaiting an new installment becuase this is such a beloved series to me.
You need an Xbox 360 to play it because it's not backwards compatible but armored Core 4 answers can be found in your used game section. If you want to have fun with an armored Core game than get it
I remember timing whether running was faster than the laser blade forward movement with different leg types. And the ending of the first Armored Core. I also liked the 3D minimap and different aiming mechanisms and zones and range of options. I liked how slow the input was, like you were really a third party controlling the robot using some intermediate controls, which were themselves clunky, so you had to anticipate that lag
Armored Core as a franchise is probably one of the best possible candidates for being moved into a sort of Warframe-style mission-based MMO, in my opinion. The franchise has always been about nameless mercenaries doing missions for megacorporations, so you wouldn't really have the "chosen one" problem a lot of MMO games have. You could have standard ACs vs MTs for PvE content, some opposed objective PvP missions (Protect/Destroy the objective), and if you want to get really brave throw in some "Betrayal" missions, where a player is dropped into a team PvE mission with the objective of eliminating one of the other players on his own team, reminescent of invasions from Dark Souls... There's always a mission in every armored core game where your teammate turns on you halfway through the mission. (Though I would say that it would be entirely opt-in. Specific non-critical, high reward missions would put bounties on your head other players could pursue, and you'd *always* be informed beforehand if you were opening yourself up to something like this.) Throw in a PvP arena ladder and some high end pve content and I think you'd have a great game on your hands.
but what happened is that there are tons of mech games been released at all platforms but still cant keep up from the armored core legacy I also grew up as a raven and im so saddened that vday is the last ac franchise😢
Sadly only one company took that chance since 2013 and that was Marvelous with Daemon X Machina. Good news is, new leaks and rumors of a new Armored Core game are out in the wild
This video didn't explain what it says in the title, I came here to know WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ARMORED CORE SERIES, not the explanations of every single one of them
Basically, Armored core was one of those franchises that was more of a cult classic. It did barely enough in sales to continue being marketable until the 360/PS3 Era. Dark souls was immediately wildly more successful and made a ton more money, so Armored Core was put on the wayside. Probably forever. It makes me sad.
4 Answer was my most beloved. Fast paced, crazy customization and you need a giant robot in order to fight even more giant robots! The series doesn't work if you aren't giant robotting enough...
I found Armored Core on the PS1 demo disc and was so intrigued by this game. I played everyday for over two years, lost tons, to only find that’s how you got the sick ass laser gun that you couldn’t buy or build because it wasn’t compatible. The game assisted you to make a guy that was generally impossible to make without the great loss on missions. I’ve tried to get all my friends into this game but they thought it was to difficult. I wish we had the network that we have today online back then when I was into video games. I would want to challenge everyone to a battle on these comments or find someone who could even hang with me in a battle. Man it was so much fun to play and battle with all the dynamics and politics of building your core. The things you wish you could do but your couldn’t because you were to heavy. That was my life back then...work my real job, then head home to make money on missions on my PS1 on Armored Core, lol.
@Simon Chase You obviously don't know shit. Armored Core was their main bread and butter plus there is always an audiences for this game sure not as big as the souls series which btw is also a niche series as well but there are real dedicated fans of it. It's even have a loyale online fanbase for 4 answer and verdict days.
Simon Chase lol what?! Theres a damn good reason why AC had so many titles under its belt and why it lasted for so long. Youre a bandwagoner and blaming it all on DS. The main issue is that AC is hardly ever marketed worldwide.
I'm asking the same questions for years wtf happened to my favorite armored core games. Man I'm such a mech fanboy thank god there's a game called daemon x machina coming out this Friday. MechWarrior is coming out too but on epic store damn.
If MechWarrior is coming out for pc on Epic Store then you could wait for the cracked version and if you want to support the developers then buy the steam copy if it comes out bro.
Yeah, armoured core was pretty awesome would love to see another game in the franchise. Also since you're a mecha fan and interested in mecha games you might be interested in an early access mecha game called M.A.S.S which is coming out tomorrow on steam to give it a look :) .
@@HekateMGO Armored Core would have been so damn popular if they actually advertised. I've been playing since the ps1 demo disc and that's the only reason I know the series exists. It's my favorite franchise. Really want another one already.
Armored core has been, imo, one of the best fusions of Japanese and western mecha I have ever experienced, taking the design style of japanese works and making them more industrial and modern-military-like. No better example, I think, than AC4's intro with White Glint and Spirit of Motherwill.
Wow i didn't know there were so many armored core games because i just came from armored core 6 trailer and i didn't even heard of this game untill today but seeing that it's from from software it intrigued me to what is this game.thank you for the history lesson.❤️
I would definitely love to see the series return. I believe the gaming environment would be right for it as people could get lost trying to min/max their AC the best possible way.
I just love how many different ways you could make your mech heavy defensive tank to long range sniper to a lightweight close combat. There were just so many different ways to play
Have any of you even played armored Core 4 answers? It's the last game they made before the franchise committed suicide with five. You have so many different weapon options it's insane. I had like 20 different mobile suits and all of them were different. Also if you get the right generator and the right thrusters then you can fly indefinitely. You're not breaking any speed records but you're also never going to touch the ground
I only played the PS1 and PS2 AC games, and in those games there was only 1 mech style you could use: -Energy weapon and blade Since they charged you for solid ammo and you couldn't make any money unless you used energy weapons (which were free) there wasn't much choice unfortunately. I wanted to use solid weapons, but I needed to make money.
paper thin armour as much speed as I could squeeze out of it full flight action with a rifle and back cannon loadout screaming around the top demolishing all six main guns that was the day i cut down Motherwill and its sticks with me years later god i need a new NEXT based AC game
@@IamKounari i got in at the tail end and i can tell you the amount of fun i had with clans as well the cs blade matches were insane but i think the game had just lost a majority of its US players which was an absolute bummer more people need to give these games a try
Blue balled for what feels like a decade since armored core for answer. Hope they focus the game around that style vs all the others. And make it available for pc. It deserves a modding community for weapons, armour and campaign. It could be the game we all wanted. It could be every mech anime ever.
MechAssault practically carried Xbox Live until Halo 2 came out. Didn't care for the second one though, I think they completely misunderstood what people liked about MA1.
Armored core was basically the most important thing from my child hood i want them to reboot this game so bad armored core for answer was my favorite one ever
AC4/AC4A were my favorite, the speed involved in them were a rush and made V/VW's combat a jarring back-step even if they had some nice quality of life features.
the fact that Armored Core has now missed an entire console generation is an absolute disgrace. If From Software cares about this series as much as they indicate, where is the new release?
It is. In lucky that when I shelved my 360 I still had verdict day on it. So I could fairly readily set up, and play it, if I wanted. I think the servers were still up back in like 2016.
it has less to do with how much they care, and how much gamers care.. and most gamers dont really care.. shit most dont even know it exists unless they are at least in their late 20s. they make game of the year quality games with the souls series, and besides armoured core 2 and verdict day to a lesser extent.. are pretty avg (to below avg) games with a very small niche audience.
@@im_cart8656 That is perfect said. Let me expand on it. Armor core was not very popular in JP. I mean it was, but not how we think. Its competitor is gundam, the legit premier mecha definition in Japan. Then Armored core was also console, which hurt them a lot, as arcade community was more into mecha, and collectors or mecha merchandise didn't care for playing a game, and more about building replicas. You can see gundam build fighters, which was a succesful anime, but terrible for merchandise once they leaned into gaming. So you basically have an indie studio, trying to create something in an niche gameing environment, to pull and get fans of the genre who preferred different mediums. This is exactly why from soft is doing what they are doing. Armored core blew up in the west, cause they didn't have the conditions of Japan already. In reality, Armored core is a what ever game in Japan. Fromsoft isn't just know for dark souls, but respected for dark souls in Japan. They are not respected for armored core. This is a big factor. Most JP studios live by their national fans. Fromsoft doesn't. Fromsfot made success globally, and Armored core is one of them. Miyazaki has always wanted to make the game he envisioned. JP now loves their souls series, but fromsoft is still intent on the global market. It is what gave them that chance. I am confident that fromsfot will make another armored core, but it won't be any time soon. I am sure Miyazaki is concocting some incredible mecha game, if not armored core sequel. I just think that what ever they release will be something, they were waiting for. Something they wanted to release to be as is, not because the fans want it, or to cater to a demograph, or to reboot a genre. They will release a game that will be everything they have learned, experienced, improved, and want to portray in a game. This wil be a mecha game unlike any other, but at the same time a game that reflects what mecha games should be. That is just my thoughts on it.
I mean, its been 5 years since a dark souls game came out, which is by far their most successful series. 5 years is almost an entire console generation.
maybe they should've made an AC Arcade game, but you can do customization on PC (or any other possible media) then use it through usb drive or something. (like some gundam arcade game).
I feel like AC3 did the most right personally. I'd love a remake bundle with silent line with a graphic overhaul that maintained the core of what made it great while maybe adding content like legacy parts/missions/co-op/online arena.
@@whitewolfgod7013 AC3 and Silent Line are probably my favorites, but I really liked all of the ps1 and ps2 era games. Definitely play Nexus and Last Raven. Ninebreaker has a ton of arena and training matches but could honestly be skipped. AC4 and AC4FA are really good mecha games, but not so great AC games in my opinion. I tried a little of AC5 and knew immediately I was out.
@@gjg5789 I was about to ask you which ones are the bad ones in the franchise and why I would like to know more about the franchise like a loong retrospective but there is little info about it
"What The Hell Happened To Armored Core?" Where in the video did you ever attempt to answer this question? This was just an armor core games recap, nothing else.
Fuck that trash, for answer was the best..it was so high octane with a background of customizability that I haven't gotten since..that last 2v5 mission to get s rank was the first time I was better than my brothers at a game...it was just sooo Smooth i get goose numb thinking about dropping a mech with precise grenade launcher arm shots and dual back gatlin guns to smother an enemy. And the flying was the best of any of the series
I am spending my budget on Astral Chain this month. But I'm definitely getting Daemon X Machina next month. My PS3 crapped out on me and I'm really hungry for a decent mech simulator game.
These games were so damn difficult to learn and master. I remember being 9 when I played my first armored core and being totally immersed and frustrated with it. There's a huge learning curve, although I'm in love with the game, I'm sure this is why it wasn't more popular in the us. You can't just pick up and play. There's a ton of math and logic that comes alongside building mechs.
I was a teen when I first started playing the Armored Core series (essentially when it came to the US) because I was use to playing the MechWarrior series and their massive full keyboard layout and mass of different amount of loudouts you could make. Hell it took me a bit to get really good at it but then I taught my nephew to play at 9, he took to it like a fish in the water. Only took him two months before he could seriously challenge me, but that was two months of summer vacation. I notice most his age (and likely yours) and younger were spoiled with games that never truly challenged you in not just cheesy mechanics like enemies with infinite stamina and such but made you have to think.
Me and my best friend back when we were 14 used to take turns before the weekend taking a whole day to build 3 mechs and then save them to our save cards and then on Friday night we would stay at one of ours house and we would load it it up and pull up our mechs and see what each had built that day and colored and shit and then we would go at it.. Damn good times... we got so good at master of the arena we would just use the rocket launchers and pop each other with em and it would take us like 15 mins a match lol... think im getting old -_-
"Why isnt the Armored Core series more popular than it is?" It's very simple, or rather the answer is very simple, because building your own AC that is viable in just the single player content takes hours and hours of sitting in the garage menu screens and testing stuff out in the practice level. You know that first time in a souls game when you didnt know about how weight affects your dodge rolling? Yeah well, take that confusion, multiply by 3, and that's just what it takes selecting a proper leg/torso combination so your AC can look left or right fast enough. Armored Core is very niche in the west, and I'm a huge fan of the series, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for a new title/a new title worthy of the AC series's name. Not many people enjoy hitting thier heads against a brick wall getting AC specs fine tuned to make your build not even good, just passable. The mark of a true masochistic is anybody who rejoiced when armored core 4 let us save more than 3 builds at a time.
Dark Souls is easy compared to Armored Core and I always laugh whenever there's a game journalist that say "dark souls of ...." As for AC being niche in the west, I don't believe that is true. Mech is niche in general. I believe there is only one good mech game that was popular (Titanfall). I think it's just the anime concept of it. In the west, we aren't into anime before. This is why majority of games in the west are very fantasy like, sporty, or arcade-y. I believe that once Miyazaki directs another one serie of AC, it would be globally accepted as anime is now becoming more and more popular and trendy.
I still boot up my 360 just to add and test out designs in ACV. From HAS to make another AC game: The fan base is as loyal, if not more than, the Soulsbourne fan base. I remember putting friends onto DS ages ago, and I'll do it for AC as well. We should all speak up when something matters to us.
After playing Front mission evolved i reignited an itch for mech games, playing Titanfall and sorts, but never really scratching it, then Daemon X machina got announced and i jumped on but disappointed in the lack of variety among the parts, so sad that non of these games came to pc as i never owned a console besides nintendo. Monster hunter (less in world/iceborne) is also a good example of sitting around trying to configure stats to be what you need, i tend to take 1~2 hours to just get a build im close to happy with, but all my friends just grab a full set and done, so i can see why games where thats a must isn't going to do well.
The difference is that in AC4 /FA create builds was cool because better balance and possibilities thanks to QB that made viable a lot of crazy builds, V could have too, but the balance of everything and specially the lack of powerfull generators was a nightmare that make the game fail. Also the point about it being niche just because complexity is wrong, it was complex, but not at that point, the real point is that until ACFA they didnt really aimed to make a worldsell succes with this series, when if I dont remember bad with the soulslike game they did that since the beginning with Demon's Souls.
Armored Core was by far one of my favorite series/titles back in ‘97! To this day I’ll still pop in the first 3 titles, just to get a dose of “nostalgia”, and challenge! Gotta love finding all the secret parts lol especially the Moon Blade
I've been playing this series since the first one (man do I feel old lol) but I really do want this series to come back so bad, it's still amazing to this day.
I loved the old first gen iterations, all starting with the Sony Interactive Demo version. The customization, the different strategy needed to beat missions, the fact missions were designed to force you to use different setups. I enjoyed the slower pace, especially with the steeper learning curve for the controls. Not saying it was perfect, certain weapons were OP, certain parts were useless, certain mech builds had no true benefit. I also liked how if you had two-handed weapons you had to actually aim from a secure stationary position ---- when the game got too fast, it lost it's originality(just like when Front Mission ditched the turn-based element)
I believe that for Armored Core to be taken seriously in a modern market, it needs a few things. First, it needs solid fast-paced and approachable gameplay as well as the ability to customize your AC in-depth without alienating newer players from excessive complications. This would also include a measure of changing stats to be somewhat agnostic from aesthetics within each class of parts, possibly through an upgrade system or tech tree (Upgrades for armor rating, weight, energy drain, etc. for Light Biped legs, Medium Biped Legs, Heavy Biped Legs, Reverse-joint biped legs, quad legs, etc. as one example). Second, it would need a multiplayer portion completely removed from the single-player campaign. The multiplayer economy would also need to be inimpeachably fair to players, with it not being possible to advance through non-gameplay means. The last thing we need are players being able to buy Kurosawa Beam Rifles and Moonlight Laserblades if they dump $100 USD into the game the moment they boot it up. Third, it would need a good story and good marketing, and the ability for the story to appeal to both Eastern and Western players. A narrative is important for any game, but poor marketing and exposure can ruin even some of the best titles.
I hope Armored Core VI gets some really good marketing, which is one of the biggest reasons why the franchise never sold well to begin with. Even then, I feel like it would sell decently enough from just Fromsofts name alone due to their current popularity.
Non Japanese just don't have the hype for mecha, there was a perfect springboard for kids growing up watching Power Rangers and Transformers to get hooked on Gundam and it just didn't happen. Maybe it's the toy makers fault for not drowning the advertising for model kits and action figures but for whatever reason that bonfire didn't light. Heres an idea, make the next Armored Core in the Dark Souls universe. "Get in the robot, oh chosen one"
that and I think AC is far too difficult to control for people nowadays. souls game are much more simple and actually playable for most. I can't recommend to play any of AC to my friends since I know they'll hate everything about it. Its really a niche game.
I suppose I was one of the few American kids who loved that stuff, but in general my other friends (including currently) didn't and don't care much for mecha stuff. Not even Gundam, which is kinda the biggest mecha suit genre for shows and video game series. They like their hardcore brutal stuff or heavy fantasy stuff. Like Fallout, Skyrim, anything where you can seriously fuck shit up if you wanted to. One of my friends was obsessed with DRAMAtical murder, if that lays the image out for ya better. So I tried getting them to watch Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans to get that perfect middle-ground. They haven't even watched it. Ack!
I would love to see true remastered games, especially this. Take all 3 PS1 games, remaster them, add in new missions and options/parts and bam! Instant classic. Can do that with PS2 versions as well and PSPs. I know I would buy the hell out of them. I love AC, and would love a new game to play.
Hated AC:V. First AC I didn’t finish. Classic AC made multiple play styles viable and forced you to adapt on the fly. AC:V and VD forced you to tank and drudge your way through the map. No mobility, no flight, it didn’t feel like Armored Core at all. Would love to see this series back. Somewhere between AC 3 and FA is the ideal for me, moving forward.
I didn't mind AC5 as it was something that you had to work together instead of being a lone wolf. Issue was not many new people was going to get into AC5 as other more interesting games were out at that time.(Me personally I bought the game cause some people I met online while playing AC4 Answer ask me to buy it. I got it at least 2 months after release.) Also in the case of Vday that was dead on arrival as Saints Row 4 released the month before and GTA5 released the same day.
I remember my brother being invited into a Japanese team even though he new no Japanese at all, he was just good enough at the game. His mech was called 7 and i remember it was the fastest shit and was unhittable
I only ever played the first armored core game as a kid (for context I just turned 21 Last month) and I had no Idea the series was still going strong!... or that it was made by the same psychopaths that made Dark Souls...
A new Armored Core game probably won't come out until the mech genre becomes popular again. People forget that when Armored Core came out mecha was everywhere. We've simply been left behind.
My boys are now 24 and 19 and we played all of these games. Thank you so much to the creators for all of the good times and good memories. Please keep creating more games in this franchise!!! Maybe one day, I can play with my someday to be grandsons or granddaughters!
I commented on this two year ago. I forgot that FromSoftware's games are published by Bandai Namco. Bandai Namco owns GUNDAM. From Software is owned by Kadokawa Corporation, so they could give us a really high quality GUNDAM game. All of the stars are lined up. Forunately Armored Core VI is confirmed and slated for 2023.
Sorry for the long comment, but I’m passionate about this for some reason... Armored core 2 is probably the best armored core gamefor a lot of reasons, while there are many games in the series that do certain things better, no game is more well-balanced, stylistic and fitting the armored core essences (which gave this franchise its nuanced spot as a series.) For this reason it is very approachable and to be honest aged somewhat well. It’s 2000 style is in an age where said style and game design is currently getting fantastic remasters. AC2 is neither too new to be remade properly or too old to where it’s outdated playstyle and content would need a complete overhaul. (Seriously, it’s content is bustling and it’s customization would go great with potential multiplayer.) I didn’t even mention it having the most appropriate and satisfying soundtrack in the series, though some tracks could use some remaking. I also believe Armored core 2 has the most creative and consistent continuity in the series that was never stale- And it’s story is self-sustaining enough that it would not need an AC1 or similar titles to be remade before it. All the context connecting them is given, and this would also paint an air of freshness and ambiguity around the games events, which is great for a game with a somewhat adaptable story. (Seriously, I’m lucky to have had AC2 be my first AC game. I got to uncover all of the AC “uniqueness” through it.) Because of the similarities the AC3 continuity took from AC2, it would be an incredibly interesting idea to connect the two and make a few tweaks in AC3 to actually exist in the same narrative. The fact that AC2 and AC3 have a lot in common and that AC3’s sequels slowly differentiate, I think that would make for an incredible and lengthy Rollar-coaster through the franchise. The journey by then would hit harder, and it all starts at AC2. (Of course the franchise started dropping with later AC3 continuity sequels so the mistakes of those games would have to be fixed to remain up to par.) Also, this wouldn’t include the AC4/AC5 continuities since they are fairly modern already and are more secluded as games as a whole, not to mention arguably less sensational. I would go more in detail to these points but it’s late and I’ve rambled enough anyway. Armored core 2 probably makes the most sense getting a remake, a solid remake of it would definitely revive this franchise, especially if it gets a more meta producer and more publicity
Thank you for your comment man...I think about this game till this day on and off. What a great platform, but it just never took off like COD did. I have always wondered why?
I miss armoured core so much. I would love open worlds like Mars earth the moon with bases on each world with garages and living homes and character pilot customisation aswell as all the mech customisation we know and love. Open world could consist of getting in and out of your mech to explore mountain bases your mech cant go for schematics for weapons and mech parts. The ability to get in and out of your mech to see its shear size in comparison to human is unreal to me .the missions could be transmitted direct to your mech console or at base
I desperately want this but because of dark souls we are never going to see it unless a fan-made project is made .......... The big cheese at fromsoftware don't see us as profitable
ethan spaziani I agree... I haven’t played any of the armored core games but I can see that they’re fun and action packed. I want to make a fangame like that but I cannot due to coding not being my strong suit and model texturing also not being on par with what I see of this wonderful series
@@kennithsimmons529 I desperately want to see something done people are saying stuff like daemon x machina are going to replace it and I think that that's a f****** lie I can't deal with it anymore it's pissing me off I don't have the resources or the smarts there's something called project 6 it's a fan-made creation but it's slow on going and not an actual armored Core remake I want to see a game that includes all the different other games all the different locations explorable world space and let you use all the different parts and weapons from the Siri is combined all updated in at least new graphics....
i've played most of the armoured core's. When i played 'For Answer' i could not stop. I remember my cousins telling me i played that game to much. i loved it. Can not wait for another one to come up.
Dear author: thank you for finally connecting a string between between macross/Robotech (my favorite anime of all time) and armored core, one of my all time favorite games. I've never dug deep enough to find that string, and somehow that makes my inner child so so happy. Like a light bulb going off in his kind and suddenly understanding why they both just fit together so well at that time in my life. Did anyone else prefer the slower, more ground based, not flying all the time like a gun damn kinds of armored core games? Or wad that just me?
I know it's been 2 years - but this has been the most informative video about what's been or might go on with the series - and honestly, I never enjoyed the game more than I did during Armored Core 4 - For Answer; and I enjoyed the fast paced combat and in-depth customization. Elaborating on that design would be what would most entice me - but speed was the most critical in that game by far - and broadening customization by making some of the more bulkier/tank/low-mobility but extremely high firepower builds more viable would go a long way to allowing a lot of players to fulfill their mech power fantasy.
I love the amored core series. Especially for answers. That was such a perfect game. I even think armored core nexus was one of the first games i ever had on the ps2 another great one.
I usually don't like Mech games and anime but Armored Core Silent Line (I think) was one of my favorites. I spent every day one summer break building the best armored cores and pitting them against the AI challenger in the arena. If a new one is made they REALLY need to give it good pvp and armored core customization.
Agree while I didn't enjoy five, I sure hope at some point in the future the series makes a comeback, just seems like the soul games have pretty much taken up fromsoftware time.
"What would you like from the next Armored Core game?"
How about a game. For starters.
Absolutely yes. Exactly what crossed my mind when he mentioned it
Same. And throw it on PC too
Nope heres another souls game that doesnt have soul in the name *cough* Sekiro *cough* (Shadows die [twice]) guess what game you're getting next.
That and for it to use NEXTs
Really wish they would make another, and for pc. Would be Fkn awesome
Lmao I literally made the Nu Gundam in last raven and used it to destroy the arena's #1 and story ACs. Customization is beautiful in Armored Core
@@kentanakamura89 that might change soon!
That was the WORST part! There were only two or three optimal parts per internal type once you can get them all. And as a friend commented years ago, there should have been only one turn speed, and three weight classes of legs (light, med, heavy) that make part selection faster 100 times over.
wow this is really validating, I thought I was the only person who grew up playing armored core

It's a bit late, and key crafting points has gone into Daemon X Machina. Back the devs for the new rides and weapons looting and using on the fly.
White Glint in AC4 FA is one of the best macha design ever
White Glint is amazing, but I'm a sucker for the Aaliyah chassis from 4/4A personally... Also, Vixen from Phantasma
Yes it’s the best armor core mecha design period. I want For Answer to be remade.
I think Daemon ex Machina is going to scratch a lot of the same itches as FA.. It plays pretty similarly when you adjust the control scheme to be more like it, and looks like there'll be a good variety of interesting giant bosses...
I would play the shit out of an AC game like this. It would work so well with the Warframe-style too.
Based on the rough concept alone, I'd play the hell out of this.
Warframe style? Now I am hype for it.
I think it would work well if they revived the continuous 3 faction war from ChromeHounds in an AC game like you're describing.
I would play this.

Basically, Armored core was one of those franchises that was more of a cult classic. It did barely enough in sales to continue being marketable until the 360/PS3 Era. Dark souls was immediately wildly more successful and made a ton more money, so Armored Core was put on the wayside.

Armored core has been, imo, one of the best fusions of Japanese and western mecha I have ever experienced, taking the design style of japanese works and making them more industrial and modern-military-like. No better example, I think, than AC4's intro with White Glint and Spirit of Motherwill.

I only played the PS1 and PS2 AC games, and in those games there was only 1 mech style you could use:
-Energy weapon and blade
Since they charged you for solid ammo and you couldn't make any money unless you used energy weapons (which were free) there wasn't much choice unfortunately. I wanted to use solid weapons, but I needed to make money.

No i would have to say this has more to do with the generations changing to less attention spanned moronic people seeking instant gratification. :)
Damn good times... we got so good at master of the arena we would just use the rocket launchers and pop each other with em and it would take us like 15 mins a match lol... think im getting old -_-
It's a combination of things really but that's definitely part of it
"Why isnt the Armored Core series more popular than it is?"
It's very simple, or rather the answer is very simple, because building your own AC that is viable in just the single player content takes hours and hours of sitting in the garage menu screens and testing stuff out in the practice level.
Dark Souls is easy compared to Armored Core and I always laugh whenever there's a game journalist that say "dark souls of ...."
As for AC being niche in the west, I don't believe that is true.
The difference is that in AC4
/FA create builds was cool because better balance and possibilities thanks to QB that made viable a lot of crazy builds, V could have too, but the balance of everything and specially the lack of powerfull generators was a nightmare that make the game fail.

Who else is here after AC6 announcement at TGA2022?

Yo mama
Basically the 90% of ACFA
I hope Armored Core VI gets some really good marketing, which is one of the biggest reasons why the franchise never sold well to begin with. Even then, I feel like it would sell decently enough from just Fromsofts name alone due to their current popularity.
I used to read a lot of fan-fiction, and draw my own mechs... my love for this game and universe goes deep
Does the thrill of battle still call to you, Raven?
Ack!
"Chosen one, the last of all fires has gone out."
> Mech eyes light up in the background
"But we don't need fires to power an ion drive."
Armored Core stopped being fun for me after ACFA, but I'm loving Daemon X Machina right now. Great spiritual successor to Armored Core.
Armored Core 1 with 2019 graphics, and a sort of there story with a lot of missions and maps. Boom, pay me From Software
Agree! This is actually a very good idea. The reboot of the old games for modern systems.
I would love to see true remastered games, especially this. Take all 3 PS1 games, remaster them, add in new missions and options/parts and bam! Instant classic. Can do that with PS2 versions as well and PSPs.
I know I would buy the hell out of them. I love AC, and would love a new game to play.
One thing I would like is simple: ditch the 5th generation AC's
The fifth Gen units weren't fun at all.
Armored Core 5 was a huge let down in a variety of ways.
The design philosophy with AC:V never made any good looking ACs.
I got it at least 2 months after release.)
Also in the case of Vday that was dead on arrival as Saints Row 4 released the month before and GTA5 released the same day.
Armored Core was such a good game.
I remember my brother being invited into a Japanese team even though he new no Japanese at all, he was just good enough at the game. His mech was called 7 and i remember it was the fastest shit and was unhittable
Armored Core was my favorite game... Designing and redesigning your mech was half the fun... Hope they bring it back in an open sandbox world...
I only ever played the first armored core game as a kid (for context I just turned 21 Last month) and I had no Idea the series was still going strong!... or that it was made by the same psychopaths that made Dark Souls...

I didn't like the battle system but I did love the huge customization options.
Armored Core 2 ANOTHER AGE does not take place on Mars like AC2 did, AC2AA takes place on Earth.
Haven’t played armored core since Ps2 , completely forgot about it , good video
It was definitely one of the best ps2 games you could play
A new Armored Core game probably won't come out until the mech genre becomes popular again. People forget that when Armored Core came out mecha was everywhere. We've simply been left behind.
You gotta be freaking out right now lol
yeah like AC6 huh
i tell you what, new gen will be freaking out about mecha from now too
Rest in peace Armored Core.
We will never forget how we was fighting the great mech wars.
Miyazaklord: armored core 6 though?
IT'S COMING BACK BABY!
I remember when i got Armored Core 2 for my birthday, i never heard of it before but damn i am glad i got it!
My boys are now 24 and 19 and we played all of these games. Thank you so much to the creators for all of the good times and good memories. Please keep creating more games in this franchise!!! Maybe one day, I can play with my someday to be grandsons or granddaughters!
*spongebob interlude guy voice*: 4 years later
I ask this question every single day
Bad title. It should have been something like "The lore of Armored Core".
Fromsoft did developed gundam game. Mobile suit gundam unicorn in ps3
Be resdy my friend , this video is about to pop!
I got to uncover all of the AC “uniqueness” through it.)
Because of the similarities the AC3 continuity took from AC2, it would be an incredibly interesting idea to connect the two and make a few tweaks in AC3 to actually exist in the same narrative.
@@kennithsimmons529 I desperately want to see something done people are saying stuff like daemon x machina are going to replace it and I think that that's a f****** lie I can't deal with it anymore it's pissing me off I don't have the resources or the smarts there's something called project 6 it's a fan-made creation but it's slow on going and not an actual armored Core remake I want to see a game that includes all the different other games all the different locations explorable world space and let you use all the different parts and weapons from the Siri is combined all updated in at least new graphics....
ethan spaziani I hear ya man, I’ll try to do something akin to it. As soon as I figure out how
I’ll tell ya what happened to Armored Core. ITS BACK
We're back babyyyyyy!
i've played most of the armoured core's. When i played 'For Answer' i could not stop. I remember my cousins telling me i played that game to much. i loved it. Can not wait for another one to come up.
Man I tell you what, the one thing I remember more than anything about the AC series was the music. The soundtracks were amazing.
Innocent People,getting harmed in Mars...
*They must've predicted Gundam IBO.*
Forget the Spoiler that AC2 Universe is about ALIENS from Mars!, This is the reason why the companies want it.
Don't worry anymore, Armored Core is coming back in 2023
This aged well

Mech warrior was the start for me .. I’m old school
On the year of our lord 12/11/2022, Fromsoft has heard our prayer. AC6 is coming boys. See you on the field mercenaries
I love the amored core series. Especially for answers. That was such a perfect game. I even think armored core nexus was one of the first games i ever had on the ps2 another great one.
ARMOURED CORE IS BACK BABY
I usually don't like Mech games and anime but Armored Core Silent Line (I think) was one of my favorites. I spent every day one summer break building the best armored cores and pitting them against the AI challenger in the arena.
If a new one is made they REALLY need to give it good pvp and armored core customization.
I wished I played armored core four. If they ever decide to bring it back I would hope it would be available for the PS4/PS5.
this is what Armored Core 6 needs:
- weight of AC5
- Customization of AC For Answer
I'd love this combination.
And the story and simplicity of AC3.
What AC6 needs: to exist at any point in the future
Wow you have a sub...
Armored Core V was not my favorite, but I didn't want the series to end.
Agree while I didn't enjoy five, I sure hope at some point in the future the series makes a comeback, just seems like the soul games have pretty much taken up fromsoftware time.
Daemon X Machina feels very much like Armored Core, but you might miss the variety of leg types because all Arsenals(mechs in that game) are bipeds.
@@E2Moto Darn
Last Raven was the hardest MF game I have ever played in my life. So extremely unfair.
The arena was crazy and amazing at the same time. The number 1 raven AC was beast, he stay in the air the whole freak battle
Missile boats and running away finally put that deamon down
the intro in ac for answer... just perfect, right up there with the intro from the witcher 2
We got Armored Core 6 in 2023, that is what happened and the game is amazing. The reveal trailer and story trailer are amazing and so is the music
