I'm Australian but happened to be visiting New York when this was playing at the Lincoln Center. I lined up for ticket cancellations and got a seat near the front at the very last minute! It was the best! Paulo's voice & delivery was perfect..
I've listened to this songs, by several great performers, ever since "South Pacific" debuted; one thing has never changed: in my opinion, it is always far too short. A great song that should have been longer.
Oh, my. I saw this production at Lincoln Center. Amazing!. The first revival of this show with the full orchestra as in the original Broadway production. After the show we wandered over to Central park and wondered what the hell was going on. Crowds and cops and...It was the NYC Marathon! We worked our way in and found ourselves at the finish line as the first runners came in! The ticket and round trip bus from Poughkeepsie was $25! Special event for Marist College Students and Staff.
I am in love with Paulo Szots voice and he can be found on Instagram. I just ordered the CD from this production top of the list for my Broadway Musicals.❤
Other musicians have called "Some Enchanted Evening" the greatest song ever written for a musical. All I can say is that I think it may be the second greatest...

Totally! - the older I get the more I appreciate the effectiveness and value of a beautiful vocal line with trust in the words.
I definitely feel like there are too many actors who sing this song as if it's grandiose rather than somber. This version is perfect.
