I believe the ending 6 is the real ending. It makes sense Durandal was the brain of his stage play to look hes a hero and remove the witness from the truth
Ending 6 seems the most unique. I like to think that certain elements of it could be what could have been a rewrite of Destiny. Shinn and Lunamaria finding out about Durandal’s plotting and rebelling made perfect sense and could had potentially worked in the anime due to Rey’s defection towards Durandal side by leaving the Minerva’s forces. Although this ending is by far the most depressing one of the bunch, everyone just dies. Archangel and the 3 ships alliance are dead, the Minerva crew is implied to be killed off as well, and presumably Dearka and Yzak are the only ones that survive.
After watching Gundam Seed Freedom, I find this video and these endings to be very interesting. Especially since these different endings could definitely have affected the events in Gundam Seed Freedom
There are several mangas that change Destiny a little. Two different manga adaptations in particular depict Shinn being able to hold his own against and even nearly beating Athrun. While he still loses he at least looks competent instead of… y’know, what we got.
@@VoidTemplar I agree with you on that mang. The Edge did his character SO MUCH justice(no pun intended) than the anime and goes into a lot of detail about his inner thoughts and relationships with the Minerva crew around him. Unlike the anime, where viewers might have to rewatch the series a couple times to understand certain characters and their actions, I felt like the Edge really nailed it in the first go where a rewatch or in this case, a re-read won’t be necessary. Even in SRW Z, Athrun’s character is done way better than certain aspects of how Destiny treated his arc. Both the Edge and SRW Z really did show the true potential of what Athrun’s writing could had been if they didn’t shaft him out of his protagonist role.
1:16 But GOD Would I LOVE to watch Videos for Hours Dissecting the Super Robot Wars Timelines of Characters and how they act across the Classic, Alpha and Z Timelines to even the Recent Titles from International Era and beyond!
I’m probably just gonna focus on the SRW versions of the characters and plot of SEED DESTINY and how Banpresto takes the story in their own spin. The timeline of SRW is too complex for me to understand lol, there’s too many entries and mecha anime shows to keep track of. Not to mention the various spin offs too(Compacti hero series that had the Gedanst) and due to my lackluster basic understanding of Japanese, it takes a while for me to translate the words. It’s gonna take a lot of time for me since I gotta focus on other things(dragon ball Daima) lol.

Anyone notice the Destiny palm hand can fire at long range? It also confirm in the Gundam build series (complete forgot the name) the Destiny shoot beam out his hand
Originally it was planned to be like Iron-Man’s repulsers and like the Kamehameha itself. If I remember correctly, one of the mangas stated that it is a mid to close range weapon. In my eyes I think it works best as a close range weapon. I mean the beam is strong enough to work as a mid range beam weapon but it’s true effectiveness works best as a zero range weapon. We know that the Palma Fiocina is not strong enough to clash with the beam sabers of the IJ, so it hints at the possible limited abilities as a weapon. The closer the Palma Fiocina hits the more effective it is.

I love Shinn but over the years I’ve made peace with the ending to his story. It’s a tragedy first and foremost and while it might seem like the staff and writers were meatriding Kira and pals (which lets be honest, they were), I’ve come to accept what they wanted to do with him and his role in it all. He’s a victim in all of this. A victim of Orb’s ideals, a victim of LOGOS’ plans, a victim of Durandal’s manipulation, a victim of the Archangel’s interference, a victim of Athrun’s poor mentorship and it all comes to a head where he becomes so blinded by trauma and rage that he decides the only way forward is to destroy the future to make sure such pain can never be inflicted again. It might have been a bad ending for him but I feel it was a fitting and realistic ending to his character and it tied in with the themes the show was putting forward. I mean the fourth opening says it best: ‘if the path you’re on is a dead end, why not lose yourself there?’. Shinn knows what he’s doing is wrong but he’s so terrified of other people like him suffering that he ends up being swallowed by it and going down a terrible path. It still stings a little to see how badly he gets treated in the finale but I can at least understand what they were trying to go for and can appreciate that now as I’ve gotten older, even if it’s not what a lot of people were expecting. Not arguing it wasn’t rushed to hell and back though, that’s 100% the case. If they had more time and weren’t pussy footing around in the final act, they could’ve had Athrun and Shinn engage in a proper showdown instead of a one sided curb stomp. But c’est la vie, I still think he’s the best CE character
Same here mang, I’ve come to peace somewhat about Shinn’s story. The way his story ended in DESTINY left me with mixed feelings, I understand his choices and path, but at the same time I still ponder about the other possibilities of him possibly taking another path. But like a saying goes, “the path not taken is the same as it never existing in the first place.” And that it’s best to not think about it. Even I found his character arc to be realistic but I still think about the path that never existed for his character. Could he had defected against Durandal? Maybe. Could Shinn have forgiven Kira much earlier? Maybe not. Despite all these possibilities, Shinn’s own destiny was always placed in stone it seems, to be a fallen hero.. it’s somewhat of a cautionary tale and one that reflects Kira from certain view, Shinn is like the Kira who never had anyone to shoulder his pain. A warrior of solitude. Your response reminds me a lot of the Shinn fanbase on Reddit lol. A lot of depth in the writing for a character of a 2 decade old story. It seems like to me that the story has aged quite well over time now to have many people such as yourself to be invoking these type of discussion posts and what not.
@@animeironist yeah, it’s very nice that people are able to go back and take a critical, honest look at Destiny now over the years. In all honesty, I think I like it better than Seed. @@officialFredDurstfanclub hell yea mang I too definitely do think that Destiny is better than Seed during certain parts. One of the main reasons why I find it better than seed is the moment when Shinn killed Todaka. In SEED, Kira just killed Andrew just for the dude to be retconned back into life. But nah this time, the 28th episode of Destiny really showed a tragic side of war not seen in og SEED. Even tho both shows still have an ungodly amount of of plot holes and stuff it’s still enjoyable at certain parts.
I agree that Kira is a victim. Durandal's Destiny plan failed but the real world's Destiny plan succeeded. Kira and Lacus didn't want to fight, and just wanted to retire like they did at the end of Seed. But the reality is that those who can fight must do to keep the world safe. This is why Durandal's plan was not needed.
I played the hell out of Generation of C.E before I watched the show and assumed the events of the IF routes were canon. So when I watched the show I was so confused.
I just wanted a true SEED Destiny plotline. Gundam 00 but set in CE. Because that's what it all boiled down to for the orignal concept before Morosawa turned it into a production mess because she got called out on her work ethic. Shinn and Destiny being the star of the show and fighting the entire world to have them stop fighting for petty reasons. Shinn putting Kira in his place because his idealism isn't well executed. Athrun DOESN'T get replaced by Lacus and keeps a RED gundam. His gunpla DOESN'T come with Lacus figurine or any other pilots and actually has a metal white gold inner frame for the Infinite Justice. Cagali isn't reduced to a bumbling helpless crybaby, everything that she is not. More involvement of the Junk Guild and the Astray series.
It wasn’t just Morosawa that screwed over the production but Fukuda too. There’s an old deleted blog post by an animator claiming that Fukuda and his wife made it hard for staff members when the two decided to attend a TM Revolution concert instead of working on the anime. From what I read it’s implied that the animator was Yosuke Kabashima who apparently told Fukuda to not attend said concert to give flowers. Speaking of Athrun, holy shit yes mang his character could had been done so much better, I would just have him come to his own conclusions instead of just bouncing to Kira’s side because of plot. The writing really screwed over the whole cast in the second half of Destiny fr.
They need to remaster the PS2 Rengou VS Zaft games. Those were good times and the ability to pilot Strike Freedom as Athrun was a godsend lol. Also, screw Kira and Lacus for being self inserts in the story. Just sayin. Such bs characters and Destiny could have been saved if the story just focused on Athrun and the Minerva crew. Props for the well-made video.
Thank you for the comment mang. A remaster of Rengou Vs Zaft would be nice ngl, but I think Bandai is more focused in the mainline EXVS now, but hey Battle Destiny dropped unexpectedly during the HD remaster so it’s possible if Seed FREEDOM does well enough we could potentially see another SEED standalone game. To be honest Imma say it but as someone who watched the anime 10 times and read the mangas and played almost all the games, Kira and Lacus don’t bother me that much anymore. I used to hate Kira with a passion when I was younger. But now, my hate for him has subsided and I’m fine with his character, somewhat. But yea mang I agree if only the focus was on Athrun and the crew of the Minerva finding their own path then the story would had been so much different. The presence of Kira really screwed over Athrun and Shinn’s character arc

I was always just bothered by blind, ignorant fans who were part of the Church of Jesus Yamato lol But the fact that he's a self-insert of Fukuda is a testament to how lame the story turned out to be. I read a fanfiction called Gundam Seed Revolution few years back and it was refreshing since the author's take was exactly what I wanted GSD to be. Let's hope we get a good GS/GSD game at the wake of the movie, like you said.
@@adventjx To be honest, I don’t really consider myself a “fan” or the series, I’m more of an enjoyer of sorts. That’s why I endlessly rewatched the anime over and over again trying to to make sense of the plot inconveniences and trying to make sense of the director’s vision. I love the anime, but because I enjoy it so much, I can accept it’s a heavily flawed story but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any good parts. If I was a fan however, I would had just accepted the show for what it was but instead I’m unsatisfied with it. Oh yea the Church of Jesus Kira Yamato was “something else” lol.Times were different back then, I remember when they used to roam the internet claiming SF can beat Turn A and 00Q. It was pretty funny looking back on their shenanigans but it seems their numbers have dwindled now.
Hate to say this, but you forgot one more possible ending. The Destiny Plan is enacted and soon afterward it caused the end of society on the Earth and PLANTS. In Super Robot Wars V, the final boss and villain Nevanlinna, explains the Gardim civilization she attempted to bring back, was doomed to fail due to the Highly regulated societal structure it had created. When she explain what Gardim did to every aspect of life for efficiency and rationally, Shinn and Athrun realized it was very similar to the Destiny Plan. Nevanlinna then said that because of this, it created a silent, building rage within the people of the said civilization despite not having the ability to take action. It reach the boiling point until finally, Gardim tore itself apart. The entire race of Gardim nearly drove itself to extinction. Now, Imagine if Durandal had managed to destroy ORB, Kira and Lacus to ensure the Destiny Plan was enforced onto the world. Overtime, people would've started to hate being given roles that were assigned to them and not able to choose for themselves, until finally, the people of Earth and PLANTS would've driven themselves to extinction.
I didn’t mention the SRW series in this video since I like to keep it self contained to the anime only side of things but yes I do remember the Gardim plot being a twisted reflection of the Destiny Plan. If I remember correctly the Astray manga series also had a similar case to what you’re saying, where in one of the colonies, a very similar social management system akin to the Destiny Plan was in place. Eventually everyone grew unfulfilled with their lives due to the unsatisfactory system. Anyways speaking of SRW V, I did find the character development of Shinn and Kira to be very well done, building upon the special edition ending of the anime.
kira kill ray,and fight shin together with athrun for fighting destiny and then shinn lose, for me that is good ending like that...because destiny is most advance mobile suit inthat era gilbeert durandel mention..in ep 45,46.
Ending 4 or 6 for me. While both sides do suck. I would stick with O.M.N.I so I can stop Durandle's brave new world plot while also dealing with Logos.
Destiny Gundam is weak because hist battery type Gundam especially hist weapons is big cost for energy when shinn use all hist so weapons don't be mad because I noticed it especially if you watch Gundam seed anime Kira Yamato is way emotional especially they lose flay alester compared to shinn who is totally puppet to durandel that is way Kira Yamato is trying to stop the destiny
Oh yea the battery type was a plot hole(retcon?) you know what really grind my gears is how the show never explained that. Instead viewers have to come up with their own theories to explain said plot inconveniences. You know that gives me an idea maybe one day I’ll make a video of explaining the many plot holes of CE
@@animeironist The hyper deuterion engine is a nuclear reactor but is also a hybrid of a battery. It supposed to still be capable of powering suits indefinitely. From what I've seen recent retcons have stated that the reason the Destiny ran out of power against its first fight against the Strike Freedom was because its hyper deuterion engine got damaged after being shot with the railguns of the SF.
@@jaimiranda8563 that seems plausible, I always went with the reason that back in the day theorists claimed due to the high output of the Volteire Lumire wings and it’s constant usages have caused instabilities in the engine itself. It’s like the process of the hyper deuterion engine can’t keep up with the regeneration of energy due to the constant influx of the weapons being used. Even in the lore, it’s been hinted or stated somewhere that the Destiny’s maintenance process was a pain in the ass. The theory you posted made a lot of sense, although it brings up another question, how are the rail guns able to damage the engine itself? Shouldn’t the VPS armor of the Destiny protect the inner frames from damage of a ballistic weapon? I guess that since the SF’s rail guns are improved, the impact from the weapon can cause damage somewhat (capable of pushing back the Destiny twice)(?)
@@animeironist I definitely agree that the WoL power consumption is extremely draining, but in small bursts of usage I think it's manageable. Like I mentioned with the SF's railguns damaging the Destiny's reactor, I think that + Shinn spamming the WoL is what led to its energy nearly running out. To answer your question about how the railguns damaged the Destiny despite being physical ammunition, people have been saying that apparently the railgun rounds are coated in PS Armor. How it works? I don't know. Seems to be another case of Seed Destiny's bad writing lol.
@@jaimiranda8563 it’s funny how when we try to explain the inconsistencies of the lore, more just pop up. SEED DESTINY’s poor writing in the last 10 episodes really are just the worst of the worst lol.

I recommend put some music in the background when you talk. The BG noise is distracting. You can do that in TH-cam’s editor.
@@animeironist Factsss always good to meet a fellow Gundam Seed fan with similar mindsets. Yeah, I guess it's our loss if we let a character's existence bother us.
Generation of ce is great.
kira kill ray,and fight shin together with athrun for fighting destiny and then shinn lose, for me that is good ending like that...because destiny is most advance mobile suit inthat era gilbeert durandel mention..in ep 45,46.
