@@devdeepa7 yea I feel you on that. All Shinn needed was a real bro like Kamille and a mentor like Amuro and things would had played different. Even if SRW Z is a whole different continuity, the writing made by the Bandai Namco staff is nothing short of spectacular.

Oh yea I definitely know what you mean about Kira’s OPness in scenes and how it ruined the show. I know a lot of people (including me) agree that the Freedom’s existence and Kira himself go against the message of the show at times. I know what Fukuda and his wife was trying to go for but I felt like due to the way Kira was shown, ultimately that message was twisted into something else. But yea it was really cool seeing Athrun and Shinn getting the spotlight they deserved in the fighting scenes and all that.

For me personally, the new suits aren’t pushed enough to their fullest. It was cool seeing them wreck shit but I expected some crazy stuff happening like how Banagher pushed the Unicorn so hard and far that it eventually crystallized and became a demi-god. That’s why if they ever do another sequel, I wanna see some crazy shit like that with the Destiny and IJ just going absolutely ham balls deep to the point that their suit ends up super damaged but far surpassing regular limits. But yes seeing the Destiny take no damage unscathed was cool asf. You know speaking of the red joints, I have a theory that the tech is somewhat diverged from the Strike Rouge’s OS that gives it it’s red coloring. In the MG manual, it’s mentioned that due to a new power generator or something that causes the power of the Rouge to be overflowing with red coloring. Supposedly this could be the same case with Destiny Spec 2, after all it was made between a mixture of ORB and ZAFT tech.

Soon, Fukuda is supposedly working on an OVA I heard. Let’s hope it lives up to expectations.

@@animeironist I hope so since tbh, I don't think SEED's whole story isn't really wrapped up, they just ended with Kira and Lacus knowing how to deal with some things, it's how I personally understand it.

@@laiden25 I see the potential too for another story. It’s actually a miracle that Kira and Lacus are removed from the story now(events of novel), having them removed can create a lot of unique things going on. Looking back at it, some of the worst written moments in SEED DESTINY happened because of the two. Now I don’t hate Lacus and Kira, I won’t get into it too much but some of the show’s messages are hindered by the existence of these two characters. And by removing them completely out, the possibilities of a story without the guidance of Lacus would be perfect. Seeing how the people of today pick the path of tomorrow without a guiding voice would co align with the message Fukuda and his wife wanted to tell.

I definitely feel you on that mang, I too enjoyed the first bits of Destiny’s story when I was a kid(still do till this day). The thing about Kira’s pacifist natural in Seed’s last half was a very decisive move. Many fans call it naive while others believe it had to be done to break the chain of hatred. Whatever it is, I think that it’s good for the community to have differing thoughts about Kira’s pacifist style of fighting. Well regarding the NTR plot line… uh well, I heard that it could had been worst. There’s a scene that Fukuda had in the original draft with Kira being lost in his emotions and well apparently groping/sexual deviant behavior onto Lacus. It’s until the writing team stepped in and changed it. It’s kinda like idk one of those anime plot lines where the MC gets emotional and starts doing something that makes his gf or a girl uncomfortable doing intense moments. And to be honest mang, most of the movie was carried by the fight scenes and animation. It’s funny that you mention Fukuda potentially having a fetish for NTR, at this point it’s pretty normal to me. Just simple anime shenanigans and stuff.

@@MRoROBOT 😂😂 Cross Ange was a wild anime, I watched a bit of it. Safe to say the plot was somewhat non-existent. It was eh but the fan service and VAs carried the show imo.

REAL ☝️. Funny enough I was actually fine with Shinn’s character and role in Seed Destiny but the movie’s and games’ interpretation of him really was such a fun experience that I accepted it as the “True Progression of Shinn” in my heart now. The novel truly gave us a lot of amazing moments with him and for that I am thankful the writers gave us Shinn enjoyers and believers the satisfaction of seeing him grow.

It’s kinda like alternate Spider-Man variants, some have flaws and may be different in certain aspects but all of them are welcome. After all it is the same guy 😂. I fw og Shinn and his AU selves, but yes he’s a very fun character to watch in the movie and novel. Z and V are great but Seed Freedom’s Shinn is up there too.

No sadly, they turned Shinn into a Kira fanboy lol Still better than how he was treated by the writers back then, he's not a bundle of rage anymore (still has that berserker streak though, which worked quite well on the Black Knights). SRW versions is still superior though

Yea even the novel gives them a final goodbye. Kira and Lacus both pull a “Kamen rider Kuuga” and disappear from the world. Leaving it in the hands of their friends and people to choose it’s path. This does leave a lot of potential in case the writers ever do a sequel in the future whenever Bandai wants to make money from Seed’s anniversary, a story without Kira and Lacus could work.

The Edge did his character SO MUCH justice(no pun intended) than the anime and goes into a lot of detail about his inner thoughts and relationships with the Minerva crew around him. Unlike the anime, where viewers might have to rewatch the series a couple times to understand certain characters and their actions, I felt like the Edge really nailed it in the first go where a rewatch or in this case, a re-read won’t be necessary. Even in SRW Z, Athrun’s character is done way better than certain aspects of how Destiny treated his arc. Both the Edge and SRW Z really did show the true potential of what Athrun’s writing could had been if they didn’t shaft him out of his protagonist role.

Oh hell yea I agree on those flaws mang, most definitely the part about Kira saying his allies were weak really felt out of character for him. I remember talking to people about this but it just felt off when Kira damn knew he fought alongside the Archangel crew and Athrun for years and by having him say that just felt so weird. I get what Fukuda was going for in the movie, after all Kira just lost his gf in that moment but that’s something Kira himself wouldn’t say regarding his allies , ever. It’s funny you mention Athrun and the Black Knights, another Japanese fan I came across on a discussion board said the same thing. Athrun really just got lucky by thinking of Cagalli’s lewdness allowing him to beat Shura. The fan claimed that had the battle gone on longer then Athrun would had potentially lost the fight. Shura is pretty op but his weakness just makes him fodder. He’s kinda like Sanji, dude is held back due to a chivalrous nature. Same mang Destiny is one of my favorites MS too. I’m happy they didn’t add any unneeded changes to the suit(unlike the Infinite Justice type 2).

@@animeironist I'm glad the movie debunked something I've been debating people about for years, and that's the strike freedom's dragoon system. for 2 decades now people have been saying that kira controls the dragoons with his newtype like powers and only he can use it cuz it's made for him while the legend is purely automated and can be used by anyone. I always knew that was BS. Athrun seemed to have no problem using the dragoons and he didn't show any signs of being a newtype. If anything, the argument can still stand if shinn was the one using the dragoons since he did display signs of newtype like abilities when the rising freedom got shot down.

But yea seeing Shinn be a new type was cool asf, really shows that he really is becoming more and more like the ideal Gundam protag. Someone who understands and grows from past experiences. But yea regarding the SF’s dragoons I feel like the games or manuals of the kits be spouting weird info that caused a lot of discussion/ debate.

1. Perfect analogy on the flaws Kira has, he's pulling aggro too much and solo handling everything that no one else can shine through and give a piece despite each being competent or equal to him. It makes it seems everyone really are worthless but it's due to Kira not giving them a chance and that's the point of the movie I guess. 2. Probably cuz the movie is still rather Kira focus with everything else sprinkled in and Kira really needed to hear everything Athrun had to say first. Will say yes, Athrun needs some beating for some of his faction hopping shenanigans among other things, maybe we'll see him getting slapped by Cagalli repeatedly in the prequel novel. 3. Had it been like that, pretty sure we wouldn't get as much spectacle we got since Destiny multitasking would show how resourceful and reliable Shinn is with it and also Athrun who's kinda the better Duelist of the bunch is to break Shura to drive in "strength isn't everything" since Shura is written multiple times to be the physical monolith according to some interviews and descriptions. Would be hilarious if Athrun last ditch effort is another Aegis grab sacrificing the Justice again. Lastly, hello fellow Destiny loyalist. We've finally gotten our well deserved full course to the G.O.A.T and what peak actually can do. Really is something how Destiny also got holograms on top of afterimages like it's depicting "taking all paths Destiny has lead at once" in a sense which is really cool and makes Destiny one of the high tier units of the timeline indeed.

Couldn’t have put it better myself. And that’s why Shinn is one of my favorite characters in the show, a hard worker that keeps on moving onwards towards a path he sets out for himself. But yea everything you said about him is spot on. Your comment reminds me of someone else that said Shinn was just a normal coordinator who came from nothing and eventually surpassed many of his peers. And that’s pretty cool, just a regular guy working hard in order to grow in skills. Shinn a real one ☝️

Correct except the ace pilot part. The novels told us that his reaction speed is so fast that accords which are better than ultimate coordinators cannot reactn to him. He's way above ace pilot, and on the same plane as Kira and Athrun

Tbh I don't think Rey ever intentionally "manipulated" Shinn, for lack of better word. He just genuinely thinks that Durandal's ideal was the only correct way, and thus in his mind he was "helping" Shinn's goal of ending all wars. Reminder that he was raised by Durandal, the guy who's REALLY good at getting you to agree to his ideas to the point he managed to trick Athrun into returning to ZAFT and almost had the whole world thinks DP was a decent choice, and was indoctrinated for his whole childhood. People kinda forget that Rey was also a victim Durandal's manipulation, just like Shinn was. If you think the novels are canon, they also showed that the reason why Rey ended up shooting Durandal is for Shinn and Luna's sake. He gave up his own "future" so Shinn and Luna could have theirs. So he really do just wants the best for his friends

Yeah. Athrun was just a begginer when it comes to mentoring. He did tell Shinn the right things but didn't put it bluntly enough to be understood. And also, he didn't give Shinn enough credit for his virtues while admonishing him for his lack of restraint. And he was to jumpy to conclussions. That is why he failed. Anyway, I tought about it, and it is a fairly large possibility that even if Athrun had treated him better, he'd still side with Rey that night, because Rey was the 1. person he bonded with after he lost his family and since he (S) would get nowhere without him (R). Thing about choosing between friends is, there is no good or wrong choice. That is a wrong situation.

Same mang. I almost cried too. It was beautiful mang ,watching it on the big screen. Seeing Shinn happy and being a beast with the Destiny was such a treat fr.

Real. Shinn and Athrun carried, MVP fr. I remember the Asian side of the fanbase exploding in joy when Athrun pulled up with the Z gok and when the Destiny returned. Hella funny how all the fans are talking about Athrun and Shinn instead of Kira. Felt like those two finally got more moments to shine.

@@sdbzfan1 He had one of the best progression in character development. The scene where he tells Kira to get his shit together and rescue Lacus was amazing. Showed how much Athrun has grown from being serious to a more understanding guy who wants people to communicate instead of being involved in misunderstanding. Which was something Athrun had flaws in during Seed and Seed Destiny

Ye, my favorite SRW version of him is in V. I didn’t go over much of SRW Shinn in my videos since I rather have people experience it first hand how satisfying the writing is in those games.

@@colby2628 Hell yea, speaking off it seems there might be another contender for another possible best SRW counterpart of Shinn with SRW DD’s changes in Seed Destiny. Game and story is still on going but a lot of the changes made to the plot really seem interesting rn.

Hell yea, SRW is definitely gonna make seed freedom better by touching more upon on the black knights and accords stuff. I remember some Japanese fans on forums are theorizing that SRW might have alternate events where we can potentially save Ingrid and stuff if Bandai wants to go that route.

It’s technically not an EXVS game, it’s more like a Chinese mobile port. Heavy PTW but it’s gonna take a while to get op characters being a free to play. It’s called Gundam Commander (CN) server. The game is giving out free stuff rn too.

Haha I feel you mang, but it seems with the recent success of the movie makes it clear people want more of CE. Even Bandai and Fukuda are down to expand more on the CE universe. Speaking of, Fukuda did mention he is writing another story about Shinn/Athrun, presumably a small OVA.

I agree you on that about Kira. He’s always been the one to make a sacrificial play for others(Athrun and Shinn too). It’s a trait that’s even seen in Destiny too. The guy wants and tries to shoulder everything, a one man army trying to stop everyone. Although it’s not touched upon much until seed freedom, it’s quite a bold move of Fukuda to further expand more upon this trait of Kira. Speaking of Shinn’s instinct, yea it kinda reminds me of Ultra Instinct Goku. All moving with his reflexes and being an absolute beast pulling off insane moves and all that.

@@animeironist If you look closely, Kira went this route of behavior even earlier, since SEED and the moment where Yzak shot down the shuttle with the civilians from Heliopolis, including the little girl who gave him a paper flower while thanking him for protecting them… Seeing that it’s also around this time that he went into a kinda toxic relationship with Flay, from which I admit being surprised to not have seen any flashback during SEED Freedom, as she was also one of the most notable characters that Kira could not protect. And never having been able to get real closure with her, it is also the kind of trauma that tend to linger even when the person has been able to turn the page on the relationship

@@Fayheurblode What makes the Flay situation even more tragic is that the scene where her ghost appears to Kira technically never happened. According to Fukuda in an interview, that scene in episode 50 was all in Kira’s mind apparently. Dang mang I gotta find it soon I have it on my computer but I’m not at home rn. But yea poor Kira mang, really lost his first crush right when she was showing signs of self improvement too. Then again tho if Stella could appear in Shinn’s mind and heart then maybe Flay still resides in Kira.

I feel you on that. You know it’s funny I always thought the Seed franchise worked well as movies better than an actual series. The compilation movies in mind do a good job at recapping and removing fillers from the show quite well. But yea mang had seed freedom been at least an hour more, then I think it could had potentially answered more questions left behind in Seed Destiny and or other things like the accords’ origins.

I would rather have Shinn use destiny Impulse spec 2 with two new backpacks and not Destiny spec 2. give Luna something different. I always felt that Impulse was just a hand me down suit that was not suited for her. They should have a suit that is custom built for Luna.

Cagalli piloting the Rouge again just like og seed would had been cool to see in the final battle. But she was one of the mvp’s tho. Goated for helping Athrun beat Graham.

Cagali did the battle by controlling the Justice.
