I got to meet Jerry Corbetta in 1974 when Sugarloaf played at The Buccaneer Club (The Buc) in Greenville NC. I was in The Buc's 'house band' and while they were setting up their equipment, Corbetta asked to see my B3. He played it for a couple minutes, (how I wish there were cell-phone cameras back then!) and then he let me see, and play his B3 for a minute. His B3 was 'customized' somehow and could do things other B3's couldn't do.
I was a 5 year old boy when this tune hit the airwaves. There were two songs that my father told me contained important life lessons in the lyrics. "Don't Call Us" and "Serve Somebody " by Dylan.

I remember Rare Earth as a young teen. I said to myself I want to be like Peter Rivera. Sing and play drums. Played many power trios. I loved singing. I still have my Shure head mic.
I saw the Classice Rock All Stars a few years before this at the Natchitoches Jazz Fest. They were great, and Jerry Corbetta was the highligt of the show. I was sad to hear he's gone now.
