Carmilla was just your average type of boss, she wasn't really anything special. Maxim was just yet ANOTHER character battle. The forgotten one was cool... at first, but just becomes tedious to face after a while. Nuculais is Curse of Darkness' version of Legion, which they did mention in their list, and as I said in another comment, Glamoth doesn't deserve the hype he gets. His fight is so easily broken with something as simple as anti thunder armor and potions. He can't even touch you at that point.

I don't even care. I just thank you for making this top, since Castlevania is such an underrated game, (and the whole LoS saga has been misundertood by idiots who think every H&S is a GoW), it is very awesome that you had taken the time to say something about it. My favorite franchise ever.
Some of my favorites are Abbadon from dawn of sorrow, The creature & The whips memory from portrait of ruin, Blackwell & Baccura from order of ecclesia, Count Orlox & Galamoth from symphony of the night, The dracula fight in bloodlines, & Retro The count & Ryukotsuki from harmony of despair.
Good call on the #1 here. That was easily one of the most intense boss battles in the entire franchise. The fake trio, however, is also found in this same game... they're just not a required battle like in SOTN. They're basically a bonus fight, as they are in the Nest Of Evil, which isn't required to conquer to finish the game.
That was definitely an interesting fight. The strategy you had to use to get Charlotte's _Sanctuary_ to work was one part frustrating and one part awesome.
It's one of the tougher ones (because you're trying to use Sanctuary for true ending). But my fav part about that fight is the music. I loved that music.
Grant is the one that throw knife from the ceiling and Trevor is the one to use the whip. if you were a true fan or old school gamer who spent hours in this game like many fans here, you probably would already know that. I guess that you don't know that these three were the protagonist and friends of Alucard back in 1400 during the events of Castlevania III.... But, to be fair, that's an amazing list.
Now thats what im talking about! The number one spot is in my opinion, one of the best final bosses ever in a video game. it was the first castlevania game i ever beat and it felt so satisfying.
Eh, I don't get the hype train for Galamoth. That boss fight can be horribly broken and trivialized in so many ways... A couple of anti thunder potions and anti thunder armor and he can't even touch you.
+Frank S I don't think Doppelganger really deserved a spot all that much myself, but the doppelganger they showed was his first iteration. You don't have anything to freeze him with in that fight. Galamoth on the other hand, you have everything you need to break his fight by the time you run into him, and then some.
I liked also head hunter from aria of sorrow with all those heads change and all,yeah we saw that in the classic wonder boy arcade in the end but its much creepier to see it on a castlevania game.Also the trio boss in symphony of the night isn't called fake trio but zombi trio as i know.Also a hint for the doppelganger in symphony of the night,just use stop watch get close and start hitting him,works if i remember correctly in the first encounter only.

Char Aznable Different isn't better. I didn't like the origin to Dracula as portrayed in LOS, Lament of Innocence's origin for him was better, and even that game was panned by most.
Doppelganger was actually the hardest SotN boss for me. After him, all of Alucard's new powers make short work of the other bosses. The last boss takes barely a minute to beat with the magic shield.

I think, at least for me, the game was a return to the original formula, you know, going from stage 1 to stage 2 mixed with modern styles, the game was good and it did it's job, it was a change of pace from the metroidvania style. Overall the game is great and show you different places. Sure, the game takes some point from GoW, but that make the game a little bit better, otherwise, it would be another castlevania 64

Heart of Fire that plays during the Julius fight is one of the best tracks from the entire series...except maybe the awesome remix of it from Harmony of Despair.
i love how the fake trio footage shows how easy sotn got towards the end. i mean, those attacks they use are hitting so hard, 1 hp and 8 hp out of a 400 plus hp pool. soooo scary of a fight....
Dracula 2nd form of Circle of the Moon is just epic. The battle may be easy after a while, but, it's still the most epic: The music, the scenario, Dracula, it's just perfect. the fight against the Undead Parasite in Castlevania Lament of Innocence was... weird. I wasn't expecting a brain with multiple eyes as a boss. The battle against Richter (Whip Memory), Trevor&Grant&Sypha, and also against Julius are the best ones imo.
I was so glad that the fake trio appeared so high on the list, yet EXTREMELY disappointed when he got Grant and Trevor's names mixed up and didn't mention/know they were the trio from Castlevania 3.
If it would quality for this list, #1 Castlevania Boss would be Dracula, specifically his rendition in Castlevania Fighter, a homebrew fangame by Serio. Castlevania Fighter uses the M.U.G.E.N. Engine and follows multiple alternate timelines and universes, its main mode is a long boss rush styled after the platformers. Dracula in this has his two forms but the boss fight actually consists of four phases. 1. His regular form with his basic vampire powers. 2. His true demonic form resembling that of Circle of the Moon. 3. After vanquishing his true form, Dracula returns to his vampire form, turns the moon red, and the fight heats up with more powers. The most epic part of the boss fight. 4. Dracula summons guardian bats and prepares a final spell to destroy you unless you defeat him first. Basically, the enrage phase.
my fav is IV on the SNES. the gameplay isn't nearly as good as a lot of the other castlevania games, but i love it purely for the atmosphere. i haven't seen another castlevania game nail the aesthetics and atmosphere like that game had.

The 2 vampires bosses in Villa in Castlevania 64 were epic in scenery (with the mirror, and at the end of level with the lady). I"d also add Whip Memory (though Julius in AoS is equally awesome) and Sisters, from PoR. For SotN Doppleganger... just lol. Bring the Stopwatch and ggwp.
My favorite is Beelzebub from Symphony of the Night. He's a giant corpse hanging from chains who you have to take apart limb from limb. He doesn't attack you, but the giant bees who took up residence in his body do. He's the most imaginative, hilarious, and gruesome boss I've seen.

The fight against satan in los 1 shouldve been there or atleast the battle against pan.
The Satan battle was pretty good, for all its misteps Lord of Shadow knew how to do a finale.
Satan was too easy, Pan was much better.

2. His true demonic form resembling that of Circle of the Moon.
3. After vanquishing his true form, Dracula returns to his vampire form, turns the moon red, and the fight heats up with more powers. The most epic part of the boss fight.
4. Dracula summons guardian bats and prepares a final spell to destroy you unless you defeat him first. Basically, the enrage phase.

my fav is IV on the SNES. the gameplay isn't nearly as good as a lot of the other castlevania games, but i love it purely for the atmosphere. i haven't seen another castlevania game nail the aesthetics and atmosphere like that game had.
And albus was a good guy during all the story, making him even more interesting
it took me 3 days and lots of patience to finally TWIN DRAGONS from Castlevania Circle Of The Moon (2001 GBA). And that rarely ever happens for me when playing these game! Having one weapon. limited health. no store to buy potions makes circle of the moon super challenging!
The 2 vampires bosses in Villa in Castlevania 64 were epic in scenery (with the mirror, and at the end of level with the lady).
I"d also add Whip Memory (though Julius in AoS is equally awesome) and Sisters, from PoR.
For SotN Doppleganger... just lol. Bring the Stopwatch and ggwp.
My favorite is Beelzebub from Symphony of the Night. He's a giant corpse hanging from chains who you have to take apart limb from limb. He doesn't attack you, but the giant bees who took up residence in his body do. He's the most imaginative, hilarious, and gruesome boss I've seen.
That and Galamoth, I guess Count Olrox can be thrown in there as well.
+Erik Dresner Beelzebub was pretty gruesome and he reminds me of the the very disturbing Forgotten One from Lament of Innocence.
The doppelgänger first appeared in Castlevania 3: Dracula’s curse on the second to last level. Like the SOTN one, it takes the form of the player’s current character. If you try to change into another character, it will pause for a few seconds to change. This can be exploited, however, since you can gain some ground while it pauses to change.

Symphony of the night is on my top 3 games of all time, but I have to say all the gameboy series were also badass.
Julius was the hardest and cool boss i have fighted when the guy is half of his health he do the Grand Cross who is the strongest one i have seen in all the franchise and the castle starts trembling and falling apart
