summary - tips
- reduce your fear of maths - the maths is quite easier
- practice each maths section individual
- practice on the calculator, u need to be fast
- write important figures down
- what out for trick in the question (i.e units, additional information in stem)
Thank you so much Emil, I am a lot calmer doing QR after using your advice!! You are a lifesaver for all of us !! :)
Thanks for these Emil, my ucat is today and this brings a lot of comfort instead of burning myself out doing questions
Hey! If you don't mind me asking, how did it go?
@@rehanmalik3488 really good! I got 2920 which is more than enough for me since I’m rural :)
Thanks man!
Hi Emil, thanks for this helpful video! One thing I have been wondering about is timing. I know MedEntry has recommended we stick to around a 2-minute limit per question set, but then some other sites (like Medify) have recommended we only look at the timer a few times during the exam, and set checkpoints (e.g. at 15min I should have 14 questions completed). Which approach do you think would be more effective?
i would probably say checkpoint your time then obsessively control how long you spend on each as you may become too consumed by the time and stressed out it may negatively effect your performance i mean it depends on you thats what im planning to do
Hi Emil, thanks for the upload it's been super helpful! Just a quick question @20:29 you take the words 'closest competitor' to mean the overall sales being the next highest total of laptops and tablets, therefore choosing Zontechno. I interpreted 'closest competitor' to mean the company that had the next highest amount of laptops - Michaelson tech. I got easily tripped up by this and feel the wording here is a little ambiguous in my eyes. What key words made you decide to look at overall total instead of just laptop total?
I agree, this question may be ambiguous. I chose to look at Zontechno because closest competitor didn't have a specifier that it was for laptops only, so I looked at both laptops and tablets. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a question like this wrong, it just happens sometimes :)
lol same tripping point here and yeah I would agree with Emil's suggestion.
Wording is completely unfair.
is it ok to round your numbers while solving?
Hi Emil, I noticed that for certain questions for example at 21:16 when you were supposed to do 10,845 - 6222 you instead did 6222 - 10,845 is this a technique you use to avoid having to re-enter numbers and save time and something you would recommend to always do, or does it not always work?
Either way, you get the same number just with a - in front of it. As long as you’re aware that you’ve put them the “wrong” way around on purpose, it should be fine to do whenever 👍🏻
hi emil i was just wondering if you thought the QR questions on medentry or medify were more similar to the real exam and if medify was easier or if medentry is harder? thanks
MedEntry is very close to the actual exam. In general, it's good to practice with questions that are slightly harder so that the real exam seems easy
quick question: at 20:24 why did we divide that number by the highest company instead of the other company ?
The question says expressed as a percentage of the higher amount
19:00 so the 12.5 decrease is irrelevant?
19:39 no the question is highest overall LAPTOP sales, that's not row 2.
Hi Emil, this video was so helpful thank you for uploading! I was just wondering if you ever used Passmedicine as a UCAT resource and if it's any good?? As it is a free resource I'm afraid that the questions may not be as difficult as the actual exam meaning that I may struggle when I actually sit it. Please let me know if you have any insight!
i think the questions in QR are good but sometimes they can be sooo hard. but DM and VR, especially DM is so much easier than the UCAT test, i went from scoring 700 to scoring 600 so yeah have that in mind
@@susanx6782 how were the DM questions more difficult, and which type of DM question do you think was most different?
Why did you do 196/35867 at 22:39
I dont know if you will see this but when you say in the UCAT you have to use the number pad can you not just use the numbers on top of the letters? LIKE THE NORMAL ONES?? ygm
yeah you can use the numbers on top, but its better practice to use the number pad as that's much quicker and will save you important time. Since the numbers are bunched up together in the number pad, you wouldn't have to move your hand and look down to the keyboard as much, saving valuable time you can use to answer other questions. Every second in UCAT counts. Hope you do well!
for this question 16:00 its probably best not to use the calculator at all, if you glance quickly you can see the difference between Q and R is the same for both years, 10 units (or in my head, 1 bar width), so logically the shorter bars would have R as the highest % of Q. Like if you took a bite out of someone's cookie it'd be like 50% of it, but the same size bite of a cake would be like 5%..
go boi
Why multiply by 15 in the ratio question??
He calculate the ratio and the company P to Company Q is 1:1.08
so when company p become 15 means 1*15:1.08*15
wahooo :D
im ten
"AFFILIATE TOKEN IS INVALID"
You bruv do a vid on CAS hacks. If you need to bring a maths expert in to give yourself some cred then I'm Ur guy
Yeah I'll be sure to bring you in
not to do with QR, but is score of 600 for DM good?
wahoo
W
Can you just bring your own calculator for this section ?
Nope
Dahtah lol Data
I’m so scared, my exam is today and I’m gonna flop it
@@anyonymous9145 I flopped and got 2230 💀
