Dad had a 1990 standard Aerostar and my bro had a 2001 Standard Sporttrac, both had the same shifter. Wonder why Ford never got creative on how it looked.
standardisation its cheaper to build 1 good part 1,000,000 times than 5 different crappy parts 100,000 times each up till 1994 almost all ford suv's trucks and even cars has more than 50% interchangeable parts a 1990 F150 and a 1990 crown victoria for an example had the same engine same transmission and even the same axle and rims same fuel tanks same with the econoline vans the e150 has the same engine same transmission same axles same fuel tanks as an F150 ford did this to make use of provin tech as well as making the vehicle cheaper to the consumer while still making more profit than the competitors
When someone wants to show you blow by while the engine is cold, laugh in their face and call them out because once it has warmed up to temp is when the REAL blow by shows off, most have about none on cold start. This guy is shady showing blow by at cold temp. I drive a 2000 7.3 with nearing half a million miles on the stock engine, it doesn't have blow by at startup either, when it warms up however it does have a bit.
lol i had a 6.9 that looked like a steam engine on startup from blow by it for so bad i the cap keep blowing off so i just used rubberbands 2 coffee filter over the fill so it had air flow fixed now #3and #8 had bad rings ...
We have 2 of the 392K miles $1995 260k miles $2995 Both 2000's
