+scantrontheimmortal In Kane's Wrath, you play as LEGION, the Logarithmically-Engineered Governing Intelligence of Nod, a successor to CABAL based on the same technology. In most of the games, he's speaking to a commanding officer like Slavik or the Nod commander in Tiberium Wars. They're just followers to him. Valuable but not indispensable. But he treats LEGION like his own child, because in a very real sense, it is. An advanced AI system meant to direct and guide Nod and to learn enough from the Tacitus to get the technology Kane wanted. He revised and upgraded it, guided it for decades until the end of Kane's Wrath. He calls it "my child" most of the time, and near the end, he calls it "my friend." That's subtle, but significant, I think. Kane doesn't view LEGION as his follower, he views it as his equal, possibly his successor. So he's more open around it.
I didn't play C&C4, just watched all the cinematics, but apparently after the end of Kane's Wrath, he takes the Tacitus to GDI, offers a "solution" to the Tiberium problem with it, and uses GDI's resources to build the control network using that last Scrin tower, so he and his followers could use the portal to go somewhere else. It was Kane's plan the entire time to lure the Scrin to build the towers so he could finally leave Earth.
Michael Moen ... And what I usually very much like to stress: when taken to the GDI headquarters to 'propose' the guards escorting Kane have P90-submachineguns! @@Revkor Yeah, Cabal's voice was awesome in Tiberian Sun & Firestorm. It's now just a distorted voice with few lines. It is a small role, so I guess that's why it's not even credited. I think they should have brought back Cabal in a major role for Tiberium Wars & Kane's Wrath.
I always thought of Kane as just an ordinary person who went for a stroll one morning and saw a Tiberium crystal, and then came up with a plan to create his own religion.
Not really. Kane is Cain, as in the one from the Bible. He killed his brother, Abel, and was then cursed by God to be immortal, which is why he can never die and he is so obsessed with ascension.
That moment you realize the entirety of the last 3 wars was Kane's attempt at attracting Scrin's Tiberium mining fleet while aslo preparing Earth for the Scrin invasion by forcing humanity to use Tiberium. Then Kane's Wrath comes out and straight up shows us that the entire 3rd war was Kane manipulating *everyone* into his prefered outcome.

+ealdie24 Actually, the former leader was Anton Slavik (CNC2 Player, mentioned in the second cutscene) who was a white dude, Marcion rose to power due to his past battle experience making his name know throughout the Black Hand, and i know old comment is old
the spit on 2:01 is an incredible beat of acting. it actually looks like a guy determined so change the world through any means necessary and truly believes in what he is saying. PEACE THROUGH POWER.
LEGION is derived from the remnants Kane recovered from CABAL; CABAL being another misguided zealot, much like the Abbess, who saw the infighting and presumptions of the Inner Circle as detrimental to Kane's vision, took it upon itself to recover the Tacitus and attempt to purge world of the insolent GDI and the "corrupted" Brotherhood.
If Alexa doesn't trust LEGION, why does she involve it in her secret plan to frame Killian? How can Kane trust LEGION if Alexa was able to have it frame Killian with a single command? If the Tacitus is dangerously unstable, why does Kane hold it in the palm of his bare hand?
+Zachary Matthew James Well, she probably only saw LEGION as a necessary evil before, but she became more and more distrusting of it as she finds out that parts of CABAL is inside LEGION. Also, she told LEGION that framing Killian was Kane's idea, since she's the ward of LEGION project, I don't think LEGION would doubt her. (Kane's fault for putting a yandere in charge) But above all else, C&C isn't exactly renowned for its great writing.
“GDI promises them prosperity, but in the slums of Rio, the homeless and hungry know the truth! They have been forgotten, they have NOTHING… BUT. THEIR. ANGER.” Gives me chills everytime.
I guess we all consider CnC 4 non cannon. The best we as fans (me technically a former child hood fan...) can do is take some concepts off of the story boards, concept art and all of those little spoilers lying around to form a better conclusion. The Tiberium Control Network was apparently intended in concept from the beginning, but only from the result of GDI extracting information from the Tacitus on their own. Kane would not offer it as was done in the CnC4 intro. Or so I suspect... The world after TS and TS:Firestorm would be relatively clear of Tiberium thanks to this Tiberium Control Network and yet there would still be areas classified as Red, Yellow and Blue Zones. There would however be more Blue Zones than what had appeared in Tiberium Wars. Most of the world would be cleared of infestation and Earth's habitability would return to sustainable levels. The Forgotten would mutate and eventually evolve to the point where certain individuals could learn to control tiberium lifeforms through sheer will, seemingly through supernatural means. Nod is secretly building up behind the scenes for some future event as is shown in TW and KW. Everything including the Liquid Tiberium Bomb and luring in the visitors was planned by Westwood. It is just the overall story progression up to the Scrin invasion that might have changed. The Scrin were most likely planned as an expansion pack... The Scrin would have shown up as a mysterious alien force like in TW but their weapons would be much more impressive, yet their motives, possibly unchanged. A leaked scene shows GDI investigating a crashed meteor. This is insinuated to be the Scrin reconnaisance vessel, an escape pod or a drone ship. I guess it is after the Ion Cannon strike on Sarajevo where a short but indeterminate amount of time would have passed... After this mission, the harvesting invasion begins...supposedly... A series of meteor strikes around the world, alien ships enter Earth's orbit massive, initial Starship Troopers like battle, End in cliffhanger... From what I read there were originally 5 factions planned and 2 or 3 expansion packs. The Factions being:GDI, Nod, The Forgotten, Scrin and a force of machines reminiscent of CABAL or Skynet... The main game would've been the Third Tiberium War. The First expansion might have been the Scrin invasion with the factions still seeing fit to oust eachother, the Forgotten ending up becoming the heroes in the end... The Second expansion might announce CABAL's Return or LEGION's Uprising and the Recapturing of the Tacitus ending with Nod's or Kane's ascension. The Third expansion might have had the Scrin Returning full force in order to conquer Earth or something along those lines... We can assume many things about what would happen after TW3... or TW and KW. Regarding the story about CABAL'S return/revenge... 1... One would think that CABAL's successor; LEGION, is waging it's own war against GDI to weaken them further for the return of the Scrin. After Returning from the Ichor Hub he would probably use his armies to fight the next war since Nod itself is a Shadow of what it once was. (If one was to go by the storyline established by Tiberium Wars...) 1...cont'd... Nod's survivors or The Truely Faithful end up few in number. The Brotherhood is virtually extinct and Kane has taken these survivors into isolation whilst GDI attempts to rebuild what it had lost after the 3rd tiberium war and the Scrin Harvesting invasion. The tiberium control network is being created and/or repaired and the future seems relatively hopeful. Soon a series of insurrections occur... LEGION's Marked of Kane; now improved with alien technology and the information of the Tacitus, attack enmass (much like in Firestorm). Out of nowhere Kane appears but there appears to be 2 of them. One is real the other a look alike with almost holographic blue facial features. CABAL HAS RETURNED! LEGION ends up fighting him for control of the Cyborg Armies...You the player end up deciding their fate. You soon discover what Kane truely is as clones appear one after another... *(not telling LOL)* 2... Perhaps CABAL ended up surviving the destruction of his own facilities and secretly built an army like Kane had done with his Marked of Kane. He appears after the Scrin Invasion and perhaps ends up being repaired by surviving Scrin entities as a means of escaping Earth. He is remade and reprogrammed. Eventually becoming aware of his predicament, CABAL begins planning another takeover but this time he takes extra precautions. He reverse engineers Scrin Technology to build his armies, until the time of his choosing, before his final rebellion begins... He later meets LEGION, a being he views as a second rate mockery and begins manipulating his Scrin masters. 2...cont'd... I'd like to think Cabal is using the factions own technologies against their own in order to make it seem like a series of civil wars. The Scrin eventually suspect something is going on after discovering evidence of survivors from their harvesting force. The Scrin end up sending their true military forces to Earth ahead of schedule. This ends up being a disaster for them as CABAL sets up all the armies into one major conflict in order to weaken them. He utilizes his built up armies to seemingly destroy GDI, Nod and the returning Scrin, all in one massive battle. Essentially he sets up a plan identical Kane's. GDI later pisses off the Scrin... Nod and LEGION struggle against CABAL... The Forgotten try to survive. The Scrin want resources... CABAL wants revenge... Everyone else wants to escape this hell hole created by a bunch of green alien crystals...and an army of begrudging fanboys...
nope liquid tib bomb never existed it was the tacitus the scrin bible and soul prison of their greatest enemy the martian emperor who knowed how to eradicate tiberium and the scrin forever but their overlord stopped him in time.while kane.maded by westwood is suspected ti be the last alive martian ,poisened by the power of tiberium, that wants whole universe in his hands then we would get gdi and forrgotten aliance which would kick scrins ass becuse their technology managed to counter tiberium(exp.gdi dropships could absorb ion storm energy and go full speed ahead) and they managed to make more blue zones with purifier project maded from the tacitus diegrams captured from cabal.however cabal isnt dead his main bunker managed to work without kanes mind tricking kane in believing him which would result of invasion of yelow and red zones by cabals forces.he assimilates most of scrin invasion and losses a lot of humancyborg because of that .so bassically nod is jist a shadow in tib incursion they managed to destroy philadelphia but that wasnt something the story was just kane wanting to make a new world where he can start his empire without gdi to stop him .as seen in first and second tib war his worces are weak comperred to gdis walkers, mammoth tanks, variety of orcas, ion cannons, space station, orbital strikes, big f carriers and more to come
I think I remember seeing story boards about that a few years ago. But the Tacitus being a soul container is quite interesting. For the Martian King though... I assume his name was Marvin? Originally I was thinking that the Tacitus is just one of several. Together they would allow control of Scrin automated forces and their towers. Or perhaps when put together it would form some kind of Super a.i or a wormhole to another planet/dimension or something. Like maybe even the Overlords throne room... Perhaps a huge ass megaweapon... I thought that, if the series began with GDI and NOD then it would end with them. Nod and GDI having one last enormous battle to the death or something like that. From what you're saying about Kane: Kane was in control of CABAL but CABAL managed to free himself and begin a war, Skynet style. I knew that if CABAL returned, he would do something crazy like "assuming control" of Scrin forces. I like your story too. :) It makes Kane seem like a real manipulator and Mastermind.
The C&C story has the same problem seen in many continueing series like Assassins's creed or Lost: it's writers are just making 'mysterious' stuff up, and adding more weird stuff without any idea what the overall story is going to be. Then eventually the story either ends up as a confusing mess with no ending or with a dissapointing ending coming out of nowhere. The C&C story is unsalvageble because they never really thought out who Kane was and what the climax to his story should be.
**cough** MassEffect **cough** Sorry I have a cold... Maybe Kane was trying to start his own Empire after murdering his brother to get revenge for his exile to earth. If you take the Biblical Cain and Able story as inspiration of course... Where ever Kane was from (synonymous with Eden) he was banished to and cursed, to wander the Earth (allegory for Nod) for all time... Meh...
+SuperNinja XX67 Philadelphia survives in Tiberian Sun, as it is only destroyed in the Nod takes over the world ending. It's blown up in Tiberium Wars. KW occurs before, during and after TW. Kane delayed Boyle from going to the Philadelphia during TW (using Legion to lead the forces there) because he wanted him in charge to provoke him in using the Ion Cannon on Temple Sarajevo to lure the Scrin and to use the Ion network on the Scrin. He knew GDI would win despite Nod's push after the Philadelphia attack which would leave the GDI military in charge without politicians if Boyle was on Philadelphia. It would make GDI ultimately dominate and win again, with the Scrin a no show, leading to the ultimate death of Nod after showing their hand and Kane's ascension unobtainable in a GDI controlled world.

C&C 3 lives in death! Just like Joe -Kane- the game hasn't aged a bit over 10 years! I can still play it and feel like I am playing a fresh new game that just got released. Pretty hyped for the remasters too (praise Kane!) though maybe It will be enough to make C&C great again...?
Always thought it was odd that after TB3 NOD switched from Crimson to Violet Good thing I just ignore the existence of C&C4. No base building = not a Command and Conquer game.... and I could actually stomach the idea of Kane allying with GDI as part of a plan to manipulate them into doing his bidding (which he ended up doing)
CRocketSlim Super late in saying this but it was changed to purple because Kane was being a weirdo and wanted to be more “Scrin-ish”, I guess is the word. At least according to some schmuck at EA’s C&C team during an interview or whatever (I think it was in an IGN discussion of the Tib uni).
@@AVerySexuallyDeviantOrange To be fair choosing that color was a shrewd move to show he was sorta trying to make the NOD less threatening and more mainstream (in CC4). In short so it was more palatable to GDI leaders.
is it me or was Alexa jealous of Kilian that Kilian had all the attention of Kane and Alexa didn't so she somehow got Kilian in trouble and Kane killed her. I know I may be wrong but watching the cutscenes it seems to me that Alexa was jealous of Kilian
Yes. Actually she was pretty paranoid from the beginning. She felt uneasy about Legion but used him to frame Killian into attack on Temple Prime. Shortly after that she says that she doesn't trust Legion because CABAL's cyborgs once killed her parents. And CABAL was a foundation of Legion. I figure she must've been a child during Firestorm Crisis and maybe even witnessed her family been murderded by CABAL. She saw Legion as necessary evil for a while but when Legion got close to the Tacitus, her PTSD took over and she completely lost it.
I think I finally get it. Kane actually saved the world. Since he survived hundreds or even to thousands of years, he's probably an alien (might or might not be scrin). He created the NOD faction just to create the liquid tiberium bomb to trigger the alien harvesting force to come to earth prematurely and build towers. He helped the alien secure a tower so that he can create a portal to the alien world as he want to meet the Scrin race for some reason, probably cause he's bored with earthlings. But in doing so, he saved the earth. The opened portal somehow dissipates tiberium on earth, which is what GDI gravely wanted when working with Kane. Without Kane, GDI would have been a superior force and would never have a chance to cause a tiberium explosion, until the entire earth is engulfed in tiberium, killing all lifeforms. Then the Scrin simpy come down and harvest what they have seeded (they seeded tiberium on earth long ago). Or they might have still came down prematurely > get rekt by GDI > and bring a super invasion army and destroy earth.
Pretty much, but it was not the intended path that the original west wood team wanted. Cabal was mean't to have larger role after firestorm. and the scrin meant to be more of a mystery. firestorm feels like a different story from new EA cnc 3
Kane is the same Cain from the Bible. He was banished to Earth to live forever by God for killing Abel, his brother, and the Scrin tower was his way to escape his curse.
C&C3 needs a new expansion, KW was totally cool, but many things were left unexplored and a few units and skills need some tweaking also the game still needs some fixes.
I like how even in the first cinematic of act 2, you know something is off about Alexa. Honestly that is one story beat I love about this game. Having a surviving victim of CABAL's culling being the caretaker of its successor. The conflict between her trauma and faith is projected onto Kilian. Kilian had her doubts about Kanes plans yes, but that never manifested into betrayal. Alexia however did it twice. By using LEGION to frame Killian and later trying to destroy LEGION. Fearing it would become another CABAL. Given that LEGION was built on what remained on CABAL, her fear was not without reason.
Command and conquer lives on! I've seen the mods! So many different ones, all good in their own style! The second tiberium war! Twisted Insurection! Dawn of the tiberium age! Command & Conquer WILL NOT DIE!!!!!!!

It's so strange that I didn't realise quite how hammy and silly the command and conquer cutscenes were as a kid. Not to disparage them. I think they're fantastic and way better than CGI animation. I just find it weird that I didn't see at 13 and absolutely just felt like I watching a cool movie.
Cause the visuals, scenes generated, attires and actors and actresses chosen were solid choices. Add to that the compelling story and you get cinematics that overshadow whatever flaws might exist.
So... anyone wanna mention the fact that the Marked of Kane existing means that Kane is the False Prophet with LEGION being the Beast of Revelations? The only mean to exist in the Brotherhood after the Third Tib War is to be Marked according to Kane himself, and the Mark literally bind you to LEGION after "the awakening".
Dick Halloran looked familiar in Doctor Sleep, then I realized It is Brother Marcion (Carl Lumby). There is a uncanny resemblance between him and Scatman Crothers.
for folks that havent made the story links. we start this game directly after c&c tiberium storm where we see cabal and kane merge (we must reasses our directives.) as for legion missing in c&c 4 (this is just guesing on my part) legions purpose was to repair, understand and stabelize the tacitus and was no longer needed by kane afterwards.
so Kane's Wrath starts before the Third Tiberium War and then fills in the question of "who attacked temple prime" and other things that happened after Kane's "Death" correct?
draciswolfsbane Kane tricked the Scrin into coming by tricking GDI to ion cannon The Temple of Nod. The massive explosion that resulted made the Scrin attack earth too soon. He then used the tower that was constructed to "ascend". The nature of this ascent is up for debate, but I think the scrin are out of the picture, for the time being. (with the tiberium control network in the fourth, they may be gone for good, their only purpose to come to earth is to harvest tiberium.)
My understanding from reading the C&C wiki was that LEGION became the tactical computer for Nod in the fourth Tiberium war and that he controlled all the cyborgs for the commanders. He's the voice the you hear when playing as a Nod commander in C&C 4 telling you your objectives and battlefield briefings (not the cutscenes the actual briefings immediately before a battle)

What if... Legion's purpose was to hack into the intergalactic Scrin network?
Or something like it
But it seems that Cabal hacked Legion and destroyed it. But EA forgot it completely.
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б cabal influence has been destroy when killer virus attack Legion mainframe
(Kane's fault for putting a yandere in charge)
But above all else, C&C isn't exactly renowned for its great writing.

(If one was to go by the storyline established by Tiberium Wars...)
1...cont'd...
*(not telling LOL)*
2...
From what you're saying about Kane:
Kane was in control of CABAL but CABAL managed to free himself and begin a war, Skynet style.
I knew that if CABAL returned, he would do something crazy like "assuming control" of Scrin forces.
I like your story too. :)
It makes Kane seem like a real manipulator and Mastermind.
And yea scrin couldnt counter forgotten no matter what forgotten managed to use ion storm against the scrin which would be pretty interessting

No, Kane's plan in TW is perfect, he secured a tower, eradicated Scrin's scout force and weakened GDI and plus he got the Tacitus back.
Those that don't know the end bit is a Scrin transmission saying. Threshold tower 19 is active invasion imminent.

That, and they're both blonde cannucks.
I liked Killian ;(
LoL- left side of the screen in the first video- Nod, users of the most advanced technology on Earth, still use cold war era computers in 2031.
By the end of the 3rd war, Nod was still using AK's, Apache's, and traditional jet fighters.
with the largest army in human history, and an empire consisting entirely of the world's disenfranchised, you kinda have to cut corners on your budget
Kane: "Time to sleep my child"

Anyone noticed that Kanes mask looks very similar to the classic CABAL look from Tiberium Firestorm.
Nope
Of all the franchises that needs to make comeback its C&C, not Red Alert, more Nod vs GDI.
having the actor for lando be in this project was a nice touch
They didn't seed it. It arrived to Earth in 1995. Oct. 2.

You know Kane is hitting that.

Joe's acting in that first cutscene was phenomenal
Joe's acting as Kane has always been phenomenal. He was born for this role.
Dick Halloran looked familiar in Doctor Sleep, then I realized It is Brother Marcion (Carl Lumby). There is a uncanny resemblance between him and Scatman Crothers.
CABAL is no more, though his memory lives on...
for folks that havent made the story links. we start this game directly after c&c tiberium storm where we see cabal and kane merge (we must reasses our directives.) as for legion missing in c&c 4 (this is just guesing on my part) legions purpose was to repair, understand and stabelize the tacitus and was no longer needed by kane afterwards.
And what about the scrin? It hurts when i try to think about c&c 4 story, it sucks so much
so Kane's Wrath starts before the Third Tiberium War and then fills in the question of "who attacked temple prime" and other things that happened after Kane's "Death" correct?
correct, as for the scrin only theory i have is that they were supposed to come in full force in the next one (if it ever gets made)
draciswolfsbane Kane tricked the Scrin into coming by tricking GDI to ion cannon The Temple of Nod.
4:08 Kane was BAWL AND FEWLISH!
Typically, being called "brother" would be comforting, but being called brother by Kane carries some very heavy, frightening connotations.
It's too bad we never got a sequel to this story.
