You were using it wrong. The only time you moisturize the headlight is the last part before using the polishing pad. It is only when you use wet sanding paper. You could get much better result if you followed the instruction that comes with the kit. Just my 2 cents... ;)
No, I have been using this product for years and I have tried various ways. Doing it per instructions does not leave a better result. That's why I do it the way I do it. Your headlights maybe different.
kingmiller1982 what I did was wet and clean the head lamp with the windex then use an old sock and wrap it around my hand and use some crest (with fluoride) put a good amount on the sock and thoroughly clean the entire headlamp and make sure you cover all the edges. Then you use the Windex to spray off any excess toothpaste and you should see an immediate difference. There are TH-cam videos that show you exactly how to do it, all you have to do is type in the search field "clean headlamp with toothpaste"
