As the president of Klaatu's re-issue label and distribution from 2001 to 2010, I'd like to thank you on behalf of the band members (who I still work with)
They did a song on that album titled All Good Things which actually about losing his best friend, his dog. The song came back to me when my favorite dog died in 2018. A very emotional song.
Canadian band. I have their debut album. They were (in)famous for a rumour where people thought they were the Beatlles in disguise after the release of their first album.
The Day the Earth Stood Still is my favorite Sci-Fi movie of all time. When the band Klatuu came out I was floored by their song Calling Occupants. I remember the chatter wondering if it was the Beatles in disguise.
MAN! Love Klaatu and AGAIN did not realize you were on this project. May favorite Klaatu song had to be "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" from 1976. Thanks for AGAIN making my day Mr. Sklar. These tunes are classic!!
I remember when Klaatu first came out and all the Beatles comparisons. Especially the tune, "Subrosa Subway." And of course, the Carpenters covered their "Calling Occupants." Great Canadian band.
Just for the record, the film was based on a short story by Harry Bates, called :Farewell to the Master". The protagonist says to the robot Gort "Tell your master..." and Gort says "You misunderstand. I am the master." (Klaatu;'s people in the movie handed enforcement of measures designed to prevent them from exterminating themselves in war to robots like Gort, and that ability could not be revoked once given.)

Terry Draper did NOT play drums on the album. It was a beef he had with the record label....because he was the drummer in the band. But they wouldn't allow him to play on it.

Thank you for the music and your presence that makes the day a pleasure. Art and fair compensation is fickle and does not always go hand in hand. To ‘make things happen’ is a secret sauce.
