It became unprofessional to talk about salaries in the workplace because bosses didn't want employees to know about the disparities in their incomes.
Why the world is like this we want stone age
Right which is why it benefits EVERYONE to talk about money. So people aren’t left thinking they are making good money and not realizing they aren’t getting paid enough for their skill set.
So if I still had lots of workers here is how I would fix it... You can all tell each other how much you make and if just 1 person has a problem with it.. you ALL go down to the lowest pay wage. Now keep in mind, I was not afraid to close up my 5 locations. It was the workers that needed the money, not me. Give me a hard time and we could close them all down right now.. I didn't care!

It’s actually illegal to fire someone for talking about thier salary 👍🏼
christy Blankenship I heard that not talking about your salary is a good way to get underpaid. Your boss probably wants you to keep it secret so they can get away with paying people less
These two comments should be pinned to the damn top.^^^^^^
Chance Petek It shouldn’t. You know why? Because nobody named a company name.
That depends on your contract. If it is part of your contract, then you’re not allowed to talk about your salary.
Yeah. They just say bc they don’t want to give you more money
This actually made me sad. Lots on people barely making enough to survive
most of the pl are in their 20s and during that time you are often broke as shit
What disturbs me is that some people make more from welfare than others do from honest work.
@@aman-qj5sx the problem with raising the minimum wage is that it would mean businesses aren't able to employ as many people, meaning people lose their jobs creating more poverty. But yeah im not saying welfare is unnecessary, just that its sad so many people make no attempt to get off it. Does this clear things up?
@@kapurants Bullshit. The average american on welfare gets 9,000 per year in payments which isn't close to a full time job. Most people make more money off working jobs than just staying on welfare. And the people that don't work minimum wage jobs where they are getting taken advantage of by greedy corporations who undervalue their work.
@@kapurants Your assumption that cutting welfare will somehow help these people's lives is so invalid. Why don't you look at the greedy cash cows that are making so much more than the average worker. There is a reason income inequality is at an all time high.

Priorities
We've ingrained this idea in everyone's minds that it's "improper" to talk about income so the poor don't know how screwed they're getting by the systems we live in, and so the rich don't have to feel guilty for perpetuating those systems.
Also your bosses don’t like that so
Or maybe some people have friends/family who like to "borrow" money. Or haters that don't want to hear your success. The reasons are endless.
@@jeny0o0o EXACTLY. I was working with a political group out in San Diego for a few years, and there were 3 directors on staff: myself and two males. They finally told me what they got paid yearly, and I made $20k less than them, even though I was a Finance Director and in charge of the fundraising that funded our staff. Every event I was responsible for brought in record-breaking donations and you know how they thanked me? The boss gave me the raise I requested saying, “you are absolutely worth more than you’ve been making and you deserve this raise.” I was fired three weeks later.
@ Disagree, how much someone earns is their business not everyones business.
@@anyexpat if everyone was more open about it they might realize where the opportunities are at. Like being an electrician at 104,000 a year vs 30,000 as a sandwich maker.
“There’s no amount of money that can make you happy”. That may be true, but I would rather cry in a Ferrari.
no doubt.!!!!!!!
yeah but everything has a price, including making enough money to buy a Ferrari, and for that you might sacrifice friendship, vacation, simple experiences of life, love etc. so life really is a balance between all of that, don't oversimplify reality by thinking the more money you get, the more happy you are.
@@lokmanlablan I’m not saying I would be happier with more money. I’m just saying I’d rather be sad and rich, than sad and poor.

Fuck college
Its Class YT Saying that like College is the only good way to get a decent job LUL
@@thepeasant269 well unless you're going to be an entrepreneur (which is very risky and needs a lot of investment) an upper middle classed life is hard to achieve without higher education (be it university or trade school). Not everybody can have a successful start up
40k in debt aint shit LOL
Glad to see some honest answers. Watching other videos interviewing people on the street, and virtually everyone was claiming $100k-200K.
If you are unwilling to tell someone what you make, the only 2 conclusions I can come to are: either you are ashamed of the amount or you dont actually know.
Broke Asses: “That’s a personal question”
Rodolfo Suarez actually no other people don’t wanna say it because maybe it’s too big cus sometimes they don’t want ppl to come at them or befriend them cuz of their money, prolly too personal cuz i experience that in my family i’m the first born i know things about my dad’s earnings and he taught me not to say it to anyone and be humble maybe (?)
but bruh taxes are shit asf
avocado toast yes, taxes are the worst. Income, SSI and Sales. It’s like, “My dollar is only worth like 69 cents on the dollar 😭
actually usually "rich asses" don't share it
😂😂😂
CUT: How much money you make in a year ?
21 Savage: A lot

Ugh I love everyone in this video!!
Crazy how the unemployed girl was making more than a bunch of people who actually worked
She earned her right to receive that money, so not really.
@@jhoncena1111 wdym? Getting unemployment is just leeching off of the hard earned money paid by others as taxes
@@rakshay-jain She had to work hard like anyone else to qualify for EI, plus you don't know her situation.
@@jhoncena1111 do you really have to work hard to qualify for unemployment?
@@rakshay-jain you don't have to "work hard" but to qualify for it in the US you need to have worked for the employer for a certain amount of time and been let go from your position due to no fault of your own. Unemployment is not leeching. Every US employer has to pay into it on behalf of their employees. When a person files for it, the money doesn't come from tax paying citizens, but their former employer(s). In my state, unemployment is calculated based on your average earnings from the four highest earning quarters of the past year and a half or so. So if your highest quarter average had you making 8k a month you could technically qualify for something like 2k/mo in unemployment. Every state is different though so actual numbers vary. So it's possible to earn more on UI than a fulltime worker on min wage, but then again such a person probably has very high expenses that UI doesn't cover.
“16.000 a year”
“Are you happy”
“Yes I am happy. Wait happy with what?”
“Does that amount that you made make you happy”
“Nooo...”
Trying to stay positive but reality hits me like...
Duong Kristin I love how she instinctively says she’s happy. I wanna be like that.

Lmao!
Blah Smith yeah my instant reply would be an agressive no :D
I work 12 hours a day + night shifts and make 450 Euros a month.
Ffs some people I swear....
@@Im.Darius Oof, I feel ya. I worked nights last summer, and made 900 a month (6+2 day cycle of work and off, 4-5 hours a day, 10 euros an hour)
Man, I'd be happy if I ever start making like 35k a year
Money is an illusion if you have it. Money is real when the rent is due

No.
Stop.
Please
Don’t remind me!
It will be an illusion if you study and go to school

Everyone in this video are so sweet, talented, and beautiful!! I love them all!!!!😍♥️
“Quarter of a million dollars a year would be sufficient” was said so casually.

Wholesome Lad same i was shook too
Wholesome Lad yeah I mean if he’s making money then he must me good
Wholesome Lad sameee like I wanna work where he works when I’m older lol
To be honest with you I think he’s just a bloody subway employee.

Why is no one talking about the guy that straight up said he didn’t pay taxes the entire year
You don't need to file if you have no income or taxable expenses. He's literally living off the face of this planet.
@@markm0000 lmao, I saved this reply for later
1000 SUBSCRIBERS IN 1 WEEK WITH ONLY 4 VIDEOS? The IRS is talking about him don’t worry
I think he means that he had someone else do his taxes, and didn't do them himself.
because we don't work for the irs and some people don't need to pay taxes due to their job
No lie i love the honesty and i feel like people need to be more open like this. Educational reasons
The guy that said I hope I make more, no I WILL make more
