    Once I discovered them, they became my favorites for backgrounds, instead of using soft pastels, colors are amazing, you can apply them wet or dry and the iridescent collections are just perfect

    Well, you can say your white background’s are all uniform, and that’s the element that links them together on your walls! Seriously I love your gelatos background, they are so much fun to use and easy.

      Yeah they really are quite simple! It was a lot easier to pull off than I thought haha.

    Hi, Kori. Your background turned out beautifully. I started using these types of gel crayons like Gelatos, the Shuttle Art, and Silky crayons from watching Emma at Emmacolours 2020. I absolutely love how easy they are to use, and I like the soft effect they provide. I think we are all afraid of backgrounds. Erica is so amazing at figuring out her backgrounds and doing them first, but I am kind of like you. I can’t usually picture how it will turn out. I enjoyed watching you play with these. ❤️

    Looks like this video is a year old now but I've just found it, yay! One thing I wanted to mention that I heard on another video and it's taken all of my background fear away. Make a couple photo copies of your finished, pre-background work and use the copies to practice on. When you get the technique and colors you like, go for the original!

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that is a good idea. If I'm just stumped on color, I take a picture, add it to my iPad and use Procreate to test different background colors

      This one is definitely less on the messy side haha. But, I bet the heat of your hands would help it spread really nicely and possibly get a more intense color since you're not going with the brush.

    It looks beautiful and so soft! Fits perfectly into your color scheme there with the violet hair. Yes, it can be quite exhausting to bring the gelatos down on the paper in a dry way. But I think it is worth the effort. They blend out so softly.

    Can you rub the gelato stick right onto your coloring page and then rub the brush in instead of putting it onto the pallet first? Also, could you do a tutorial how to do them with a wet brush? Basically using water to activate them.

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I have a WIP and chat where I activated them. Yes, technically you could apply to paper but you wouldn't get an even spread because you'd constantly be rubbing the pigment while picking up the brush into that area.

    I’m going to give this a shot. Do you have to use a fixative over any coloring pages you use the gelatos? Kind of like you do with the pastels. When the book is closed on the shelf is color going to rub onto the page on top of it or does it get on your fingers off the page?

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah, no fixative. As long as you let it dry, usually overnight, it isn't even tacky

    Hello Kori. I am Mocha. I am new to the adult coloring community. I have been watching several of your videos for about two weeks now. I just subscribe today.
    I love the Whimsy Mermaids and other girls' books. I have several of them. I have been scared to mess them up, so I haven't colored in them yet. I love the way you color their hair. I am going to try to color one of the girls' hair by coloring along with you. How long does it take to color the girls hair? And do you color their skin also? And oh yeah, I love their outfits.
    I have been having a problem with backgrounds, also. I did a search, and this video popped up. I have Gelatos and never used them. Will try them for a background now. Question: Where you not afraid to get the Gelatos on your image? I know some people color the background first. Which is really cool. But, like you, I don't know the color of my images. 😂
    You are super talented, and I am so glad that I found your channel.
    God bless and tfs
