when i read this story in the manga i was super confused that i completely forgot about it. however, with the way you presented it, i CANNOT WAIT FOR IT TO BE ANIMATED!!!! it gives me like turn back the pendulum vibes, or the short flashback about ichigos mom in the final arc. those are incredible!!
He was a better lord commander than Yamaji because he was willing to sacrifice unohana for zaraki to envelope the needed strength in order to challenge the Quincys and he requested the help of Aizen Sosuke. The old Yamato would have never done these things.
He even accepted bazz b and other quincy's help, yamamoto would have never done it for pride but the goat shunsui doesn't give a shit on gotei's pride 😂
@@Harry-tr6qrHe definitely has pride but remember what he said during the arrancar arc that "captains don't have that kind of luxury & once you get in to a war both sides are evil", he just wasn't bothered about it and had to do what must be done. He knows when to take something seriously and respect opponents and when to do whatever needs to be done. Basically accounts for everything.

Shunsui is such an interest character. He is such a carefree guy but anyone can tell that he has this darkness within, with is perfectly embodied by his zanpakutou. The way his shikai works with children games is youngfull but bleak due to the way it is used. My favorite monologue will forever be his, after he killed Stark (which was elevated on the final arc with Aizen and even Zaraki). He does not have the luxury to worry about honor or style in fights, he simple has to win.
Shunsui’s life is the saddest in my opinion losing that many and being alive to feel the pain would be horrible. I was not a big fan of him but learning more about him make me like him more. He needs a break and go on a vacation 😂

Also you forgot to mention that Ukitake also comes from a noble family but a lesser degree around the same level of Kira
yes kyoraku family has a high rank among the nobles but again..above them there are the 5 noble great families..yes also ukitake is from a noble family I was just giving some examples
Shunsui's bankai, Karamatsu shinjuu, viz withering pine lover's suicide, is based on the japanese novel the love suicides at sozenaki. In the story, there were lovers and then family conflicts then they killed themselves under a withering pine tree by slitting their throat.

The thing about Bleach is that it has A LOT of subtle shinto symbols that westeners do not know about, same with expressions in Japan. For example, people complaining that there's barely any romance in Bleach but a lot of pairs end up been canon. There's a lot of subtle ways to say "I love you" in Japan without saying "Ai Shiteru". Is a cultural thing to not show emotions and been subtle. Same with symbolism in bankais that a lot of people lost. Nanao confessing her love for Shunsui, Rangiku and Gin, Urahara/Yoruichi, Renji/Rukia, etc etc... With Shunsui's bankai is the same. Theatre is a very big part in Japanese culture... most if not all theatre plays are tragedies. Like the life of Kyoraku :( The only ones that he didn't lose were Nanao and Lisa. His whole life has been a tragedy play. So bad. Thanks to Kubo at least he seems happy with her 10 years later.
The inner sword thing doesn’t make any sense sometimes you can get a zankapto or create one depends once you have one your spiritual pressure gets released into the blade to basically like save your energy for you because you can’t take in a lot like the most you can take in will limit your body and you can’t take anyMore in once you put that energy into the swords you can start trying for the first and second stages of the energy you have once you have enough energy and that’s when your inner swords will manifest the manifestion is really only for the powers of the swords you create the shikai and banaki that why it goes with every character personality you don’t get a swords from having spiritual pressure unless your really strong like Kenny

During anime I never really cared of shunsui, his battle with starrk was cool and had a great zanpaktou but nothing special. But man in tybw he was such a badass, he became one of my favourite characters.

Zero squad can't die. They are immortal. Read the new light novels, they all got revived by ichibei and he mentioned zero squad can't die since they have the soal kings oken inside
