As an ex electrician, I won't use any cable joint with a blade . Eg. Scotch locks. They can either cut the wire strands or be too loose on thinner cores . Any connection in a marine environment should be soldered for lifelong trouble free reliability.
Hi Stephen , they came with the fittings ,so I used them. I agree they were not that good but when the marine heat shrink was put on they were solid to the extent I could not pull one apart when I tested one to see how strong they were. I will try soldering next time though. Thanks for the tip. Andy
Hi Andy, yea, I was thinking a cob was a thing you put cheese in, but down here in the south we would say roll. Got an unrelated question for ya. Can chrome be welded ?, if so what would be the best way, mig or stick , and at what temperature. I have a hole in one of my motorcycle silencers, so knowing that you're an expert, I would ask you. If you don't have time to answer, I fully understand. You're a busy man. See ya till next time
Hi Garry, Amazing how many names for a bread roll. You could try blast welding with the MIG. It will destroy the Chrome though. A hole usually means the area either side is thin as well . So you could end up with a bigger hole than you started with. Jobs like that are tricky even for experianced weldeers. It could be time for a new exhaust 😢 Cheers Andy
Thanks for the vlog, enjoyed it.

Hi. Is this a boat your building for yourself or a customer?
Hi , This is going on the water as a hire boat for holidays.Cheers
@@nogunwales9406 thanks 👍
Use Oxyacetylene torch for heat shrink much faster
Sure it is, a bit over top though. Couldnt find the heat gun that day , so as the saying goes the best tool to use is the one you have.
