This game uses a lot of Leitmotifs (A leitmotif or leitmotiv is a short, recurring musical phrase associated with a particular person, place, or idea.), Lord Brevon has several theme variations (both groovy, foreboding, epic and intense) that appear in the game. It reminds a little of the Empire theme of Star Wars. The melody of the main theme is used several times too, but I can't remeber where especifically (definitely in the cutscene on Lilac's treehouse). Cool stuff.
When people talk about great platformers in the indie space, it's a tad disheartening to see this not talked about nearly as much as the likes of Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight or even Shantae. Hopefully Freedom Planet 2 will get so many new fans into the series, because it's something special.
I've been patiently awaiting Freedom Planet 2 since it got announced 5 years ago and the fact that it is finally happening makes me so unbelievably happy!
Freedom Planet is some heat and I'm so excited for the sequel. On the other hand, if you wanna play another underrated Indie platformer, I'd check out Iconoclasts. It's a metroidvania with some of the best bossfights you'll ever play.
I play this on mi Wii U on a 480i resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio (TV Settings and messing with Wii component cables). To give it that high resolution Sega Saturn look (704x480i to be precise, games like VF2, Dead or Alive and Decathelete used it on the the old Saturn). This game is very fun, the cutscenes were THE VERY LAST THING made for the game so it makes sense that they feel off (I often play in classic mode so I forget some details). The backstory for Lilac and Carol in interesting, they are fun protagonists and Milla is a decent sidekick with a potentially tragic backstory, also you can break the game with a special technique with Milla. You can make her fly with some tech and blast her it's fun.

Although I haven't played it yet, but I've seen several playthroughs, and listened to the OST, I love this game!
