In 2010 and 2011, Dallas agreed to teach separate two weeks for the Renovaré Institute in Denver, a cohort of 40 students, mostly in ministry positions. In these videos he systematically works through his main teaching points which lay the theoretical foundation for spiritual trans-formation in Christ.

Love this but i wish ortberg wouldn’t interrupt him so much :)
Dude how many times you cut him off
He's a cat hater, so...
When Dallas Willard speaks of "soul" is he using it in the same way scientists use "consciousness"?
That's an excellent question. Sort of. Consciousness is usually a word to describe attention or what we are aware of. If you dig into some philosophy, you'll find the word "intentionality." That's an important word for Dallas, when he speaks of consciousness. That said, soul for Dallas is something deeper. Something that is still working when you aren't paying attention. Hard to explain in a comment. See Renovation of the Heart chapter 11
But excellent question. Keep digging. Keep asking
@@conversatiodiv well that makes sense, because he says a plant has a soul. Ortberg says that is what integrates all the functions of the plant, gives it unity. I doubt whether he would say a plant has consciousness.
The interruptions are killing me.
We'll let John know. :)
Part of it is that cup of coffee :)
Some NDE’s say they see their pets in heaven
I have heard Billy Graham say this. If they are not there, there will be something better. I was told to think of a child enjoying making a simple meal he loves- like a cheese sandwich, transforming into a top chef who would remember those first steps in making food fondly, but now enjoying making and eating much more complex and delicious foods from around the globe.
Unnecessary interruptions.
