    Personally, I just give 100% effort the whole time (obviously I don't maintain top speed the whole time though). I solely focus on staying relaxed. If I tense up at any point in the race my time will wind up being up to 1 second off. I've also got a very solid level of natural speed endurance (my 200m is faster than 2x my 100m) so this strategy may not work for everyone. Just my two cents!

  • @eman7183
    @eman7183 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I went out as fast as I could without being tense and I ended up getting tired only after 100m and my form started to break down with 150 to go. I was in first and I was able to maintain that. The guy on the lane to my left was neck to neck with slightly in front of me going around the last turn but I had the outside so I was technically running faster. With 50m to go I started to brings my knees up and was able to pass him.

    If you do it right, you can sprint 300m until just before the muscles become too acidic. You can maintain your top speed for about 30 seconds before acidification sets in. The ideal is that you sprint the first 150m at 95% of your personal top speed, then you go down to 92% to recharge reserves, the 3% are completely sufficient to recharge the battery. After that, when you turn onto the home stretch, you pick up the pace again to be at 95% again, the last 50m you then notice whether you can mobilize your reserves for a last stable 50m sprint.

    We must run 300m different down under in Australia. We only have 1 bend to run. Typically the first 100m starts at the top of back straight, then we run the bend that would usually be the first 100m of a 200m sprint and then bring it home down what is usually the 100m straight. I've never seen a track like Latif has drawn.

    Sometimes yes. In our dual meets we stay in lanes, but in state meets we break at 150m. Just use common sense there isn't much difference in strategy.

  • @GoBIGclan
    @GoBIGclan 12 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Thanks a lot. I never really thought about doing that sneaky on the line of lane 1 and 2 trick. Its no use for me when Im running for a good time, but any race that im running to win, that will be a great tactic to use! (because although it slows your opponent down and makes them have to run farther, it also makes you have to run a tiny bit farther too so I would not recommend this for those races where you know you will win and you are running for a good time. Thanks!

    i have to finish a 300 meter run for 50 seconds,and i dont know if i should go with all power from the beegining to the end or increasin my speed step by step. the reason of this question is cuz almost at the end of the line a feel extremly tired

    • @mackenziie.s
      @mackenziie.s 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      definitely go hard about 95% for the first 100 on the curve just float and then on the second curve do 100% from there till the end it's very hard to not be tired at the end, if that's your case you might want to go 75% on the first curve but you don't want to slow down to much or you will lose all your energy and need to rebuild it

    • @papacake_7913
      @papacake_7913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should start relaxed about 90% then go 100% the curve and just try to hold on the last 100m

  • @vive7c

    Hey I’m preparing for California Highway Patrol physical and I just needed to grasp what 300 meters looks like distance wise.
    You have great energy, a lot of endorphins rushing around and it’s very contagious. I kept thinking to myself hey man I’m a tennis player why am I training for a 300 meter dash!
    I like what you said about free energy right from the start. Say you gas out but you can recover so much faster because you haven’t been running for as long. For example the alternative I like to add HIIT sprints in between runs say my pace is 8’ I’ll sprint much faster until I gas out and then it takes longer to recover and maintain 8’ pace until I control my breathing again.

  • @pepsiman9840
    @pepsiman9840 7 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    how do you run a 300m if you don't have good conservation of energy?

    • @mythrin
      @mythrin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Well you kinda can't, well at least not well. It is a sprint, so if you can't maintain close to your top speed by floating the whole race, you will have to go at a lower speed, but you'll be unlikely to win against experienced athletes.
