I'm assuming all the "Old" tabs have to be removed in order for the new larger 10mm bolts to fit. Unfortunately, I don't have a jack and trying to install at regular height. The bolts would only screw in 1/2 way and then got stuck or tight. I think the older tabs are smaller and preventing me from screwing in all the way.
That's probable. I honestly went with the original bolts because, if I remember, I ran into the same issue. I can say that I have been happy with the OE bolts on the upgrade kit.
Hi there . thanks for your video . I am trying to put my new spoiler on my 2001 Chevy Corvette the center one and on each side when I try to put the nut in to the hole to put the bolt still the nut comes loos from the hole on the frame ..what do you recommend ? Thanks
On my 2002, I had these annoying little clips that sort of pulled all the pieces together. They sort of looked like the link below. DO NOT BUY THOSE, I found a picture that is similar, NOT the exact part. I remember them being difficult to work with, however, for the most part they should clip onto something and stay in place as one side is on the bolt side and the other is on the inside of the bumper. Hope this helps? I do remember struggling a bit to get it on but it finally did. If you're still having trouble, let me know. I'm going to think about it more and see if I come up with another answer. www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=G6jfpBco&id=61BF121803CCCB896B89DEF7360F353000F450EE&thid=OIP.G6jfpBcoyY7SW8YoOP_NnwHaFb&mediaurl=http%3a%2f%2fpitstopusa.com%2fimages%2fF21329746.jpg&exph=587&expw=800&q=bolt+clips&simid=608014185342042436&ck=EA9AB5FB2B14F067666751CDBCE48219&selectedIndex=2&FORM=IRPRST&ajaxhist=0
Nice job. Did you notice any difference in engine temps? Luckily I haven't scraped anything too bad where the air dam got damaged, but I have scraped my fair share of times lol. I've never paid attention to dips in the road as much as I do now.
I did not. They seem to run about the same as before, giving me some confidence in my install. I think cooling is my next tackle though, as I have paid more attention in the last few months and I don't like how hot it gets in traffic.
@@iDriveDaily ECS mail order tune is something to think about. You could drive out to them instead of mailing. There's a list of things they change, but it includes lowering the temperature fan settings. My car never goes over 200° even when in stop and go traffic on a hot day with headers not wrapped or coated. It would sneak up to 220 before the tune.
They're almost like a rubber. Its a strange type of material, because it looks like plastic but isn't. They don't really get brittle as much as just wear down. Although, the sparks from a metal dam would be pretty epic.
he needs to show pics of the actual bolts and locations. He mentions "a couple of bolts' to remove and replace but it looks like he is including more than two. He should make this a slide show with each pic showing which bolts and highlighting the bolts with big red/yellow arrows for each section. and just don't talk so much
Thanks for the advice, I will take that into account. I do believe I mention how many bolts and the location of each of them, even if I don't show them.
Nice job! I’m doing the same to my C5!
Right on!

I went with the OE bolts and I'm good to go. Thanks for responding

So you decided to just film the sides ?
Not sure what you're asking. Try 5:30.

I will definitely put that on the radar.
That camera angle is so screwy I couldn’t tell what you were doing or which direction To put it
Those renforcement pieces would be pretty easy to fabricate from sheet metal of they get brittle with age.
