    There's a blatantly clear pattern of foolishness that has followed her to every team she's been on, and it's apparently escalating to the point where she simply quits during the season......not sure what team will want her after this 🤔

    Contract divorce is a legal term that is different from just waiving, cutting, releasing a player.
    Usually when someone is waived, cut or released by the team, the team still does pay out the rest of the contract or what is required to pay year by year.
    For example Bobby Bonilla was released in 2000 by the Mets, but the Mets continue to pay him year by year.
    From what I understand Liz and the Sparks was divorced as in the contract all the way paid out "right now". The team is able right now to use the additional cap space.
    That is not the case for when a player is waived, release or cut. In these 3 situations the salary is still against the salary cap.
    This is why divorce is used instead of release, cut or waive.
    Normally I believe the term used for this is "bought out". But even then I'm not sure if their salary is still against the salary cap.
    So yes, it was a saucy term used. But if you want your league to have attention, you have to take the good with the bad.
    The NBA doesn't just get to have good stories and terms. Alot of it is bad and at times flat out disrespectful.

    See this would never happen in the NBA. You dont just leave a team in the NBA. You get traded, cut, sent home but nobody just say we devoiced. What happened to contracts. You want the money but not the responsibility. This generation of women players not that good.

    If Liz is seeking more money she blew the endorsement bag in LA leaving the Sparks. She can always go to Europe China and Russia for another bag but her foolishness will not be tolerated there either. I seen people commenting that she should be paid more and I would like to know how many WNBA fans have gone to a WNBA game own more than one Jersey and a few WNBA hats?

      This is absolutely a huge and or major problem and or disappointed 😞 😕 😔 😪 😒 for the soon to be depleted Los Angeles Sparks club that has many Unrestricted Free Agent players are going somewhere else next season. Time ⏲️ ⏳️ to rebuild a new fresh look squad. All begin with the 🔥 firing of HC/GM Derek Fisher and departure of interim head coach Fred Williams (who will be going to Auburn University as an Women's Basketball assistant coach).

    I just scrolled through about 100 WNBA TH-cam videos and this one by far has the most views… that tells you a little about Cambage’s ability to move the needle. With respect as a former WNBA fan, the product on the court today is not good enough to move the needle. Someone who wants the attention will bring in Cambage and it probably still won’t make anyone pay attention.
    The most viewed WNBA TH-cam videos are about Cambage and about Griner being in prison in Russia. That’s a tell.

  • @JCPRuckus
    @JCPRuckus ปีที่แล้ว

    Player/Team and Player/Player pairings have been referred to with marriage metaphors for at least as long as there has been free agency, and that includes calling splits "divorce". Adding "contract" to the term "divorce" doesn't somehow make this a new sexist way of talking about women's sports. It's just a new phrasing of the same old metaphor.

    no shade to seimone augustus, but I would hate if they throw her into GM role right away. May lead to a Tamika Catchings (as Indy Fever GM) 2.0. would love for them to place her as an Assistant GM, invest in her and develop her into a GM in the next 3-5 years. Chennedy needs waayyyyy more playing time. Sparks front office needs prayers, cause....smh
