SOAD to me is by far the best nu metal band. They're heavy but accessible, dark but goofy, deep and light hearted, intensely political but not preachy... It literally should not be possible to exist a band like them. Everything about them is so chaotically well balanced, it's insane.
I absolutely LOVE their unique sound, but because of that, I can't find any other bands that sound similar other than Scars on Broadway (Daron's project) I wish so much they were still putting out more music, but I'm thankful for what we got

Correction... I never listened to Limp Bizkit or Licoln Park... and I grew up in that era. Couldn't stand those bands or the people who listened to them. As a matter of fact, I would DEFINITELY disagree with some of these bands to being labeled as "nu metal". Godsmack, SOAD and Rob Zombie were never seen as nu metal during that time. You never heard those bands on the pop stations - Limp and Park were all over pop stations. You had to be on actual rock stations to hear them.
I never liked Limp bizkit. I always found his voice annoying as hell. Anyways I would have put slipknot first then disturbed, rob zombie and korn in 4th. the rest could go in any particular order cus I never really liked them. I was always more into death metal and black metal.

Later on they started to change their style because over time Chester had damaged his vocal chords. They changed styles to make music that would go better with his vocals that was industrial/electronic rock, not pop. Unfortunately the new music wasn't received well and Chester didn't take the criticism well. The man loved his music, old and new. He put everything he had into his music. It was his therapy, like many musicians. He was going to take his life one way or another. He was troubled long before Linkin Park's last music with him was released. He suffered for a long time. He was telling us this all along. RIP Chester Bennington.

@@r4m_safetycar1 They were considered numetal from the beginning of their career before they were even called Linkin Park, my guy. Later on they started to change their style because over time Chester had damaged his vocal chords. They changed styles to make music that would go better with his vocals that was industrial/electronic rock, not pop. Unfortunately the new music wasn't received well and Chester didn't take the criticism well. The man loved his music, old and new. He put everything he had into his music. It was his therapy, like many musicians. He was going to take his life one way or another. He was troubled long before Linkin Park's last music with him was released. He suffered for a long time. He was telling us this all along. RIP Chester Bennington.

Not having Mudvayne here is insane. They're easily the best nu metal and easily the most talented (their bass player and drummer alone have more talent than any other band in the genre lol)

If Korn could've seen the future and known that they would influence such bands Lincoln Park and Limp Bizkit... they would've offed themselves and never recorded a song. Korn did not start out as nu metal. They toured with Manson, Nine Inch Nails and other ACTUAL metal acts.
