bts army Every building should have that. Each floor should do- but it could be bad... because if people above you flooded the tube and tried pushing you down so more people could escape, you could slip out injured-

On BC ferries they are permanently set up to provide easy access to lifeboats from upper decks and uses a pully/lever to deploy/release the slide.

Good idea, needs perfecting. In an emergency, people will not calmly one by one enter the Chute, and someone will get stuck, or possibly even suffocate considering how tightly it wraps the person.
wonder how many people's lives this would have saved if this was invented before 9/11

here's the thing, its one of those great in theory, terrible in practice things. Sure it's a unique thing that CAN save lives, but in a actual emergency situation, your going to have people hogging and shoving trying to get in it, plus like 5 people trying to go down at one time, causing more harm to people trying to get out, and holding up the chute, your better off with a greased metal pole.
What happens if the chute is on fire or destroyed? What will the person do then?
