Also, finally someone has mentioned the magic word I have always insisted upon. "context". Context is king. In almost any men-female mating dynamics.

Wanted to add some further insight. So evolutionarily psychology is based on masses of the average response. For example, when it comes to status, there are different categories of status which isn’t mentioned above. You have social status, economic status and mating status. There are others but those are primary. Mating status is separate from the other 2 and is based on “polarity” is sexual attraction. Most men display social status or economic status(wealth) when it comes to attraction but polarity (mating status) has a higher influence on feminine attraction than the other status’. If a man embodies the healthy traits of the masculine such as leadership, assertiveness, confidence, strength, ambition and freedom of sexual expression, the emotional influence on attracting the feminine is unmatched. Because, those traits activate the other aspects of selection with women on the emotional front. Safety, trust, respect, sex appeal and emotional connection. There are plenty of millionaires/billionaires out there that have to pay for sex because of their lack of actual mating status vs economic/social status.

Love the discussion about switching from dual mate strategy to mate insurance when new data come in that make more sense. Too often "science" is dogmatic instead of adapting to new data like it should.

One thing I question is how Mr. Buss contends that women who have affairs are always unhappy in their relationship. How reliable is that info? Because women often have trouble with accountability and need a good excuse, passing the blame onto their partner for example.

Michael: "Have you done any studies so far into this?
Dr Buss: "No I haven't, but that's a good clue to follow up on..."
That's what I call a real "influencer". Kind of how the EveryDay Astronaut prompted Elon Musk to change the design of his rockets.

Cheaters cheat. Choose someone based on something other than their looks. Or just accept reality about HUMAN nature and cheating.

Do you have a scientific experiment proving large bodies of water can curve? Or maybe a scientific experiment proving that you can have gas(air) pressure without a container? Thanks 😊

Yes, we know that bodies of water and atmosphere can be held on to a large spherical body by gravity. In the case of the atmosphere we can see it on the surface of Venus, we actually have probes that I’ve landed on Venus and have photographs of the atmosphere from the ground.
As far as water curving, we can see that on the surface of Saturn‘s moon Titan. So we know theoretically and empirically that it is true. Great question, thanks for helping me further prove that the earth is round.

I think he’s incorrect about Mate Switching.
Women get ATTACHED & fall in love with their affair partner because women (usually) get ATTACHED to men the sleep with - Buss already knows this so he’s contradicting many of other verifiably researched points.
Additionally, those women are usually sleeping with someone who is higher value than their current partner AND the man they’re cheating with is likely out of their league in the dating market and likely won’t commit to that woman.
So a woman cheating with a guy who has value so far out of her league AND most women get attached to men they have sex with, especially when they have sex with the same man multiple times = Still Mate Switching.
The reason men can cheat and NOT fall in love is that men don’t often get attached to women we simply want to have sex with. Additionally, the women men have extra-marital sex with are not as attractive or viable as partners as their current wives.
This is such an obvious conclusion that I have no idea what’s happened to Buss.
I think he may be believing the surveys of what the women say they’re doing vs. what they’re actually doing in practice.

39:20, not quite in “sharp contrast”. 40% of men and 70% of men fall in love with their affair partner, and like Dr. Buss said women who cheat are more likely to be emotionally dissatisfied and therefore primed to fall in love with somebody. If you normalize men and women’s starting points presumably the differences would decrease further
