@@sihly_me9386 Those types of archives deserve to be taken down. It goes against the entire message of the channel, and was Mark and Ethan's ONE wish, to not preserve anything.
They're fine with clip comps, edits, and animations, ofc, but keeping/re-uploading entire videos was expressly forbidden. Didn't stop people from doing it anyway, unfortunately, it's the internet after all. I actively avoid those, though, because unlike those people, I have proper respect for UA.

(In case you don't know, Unus Annus was a channel Markiplier and Ethan Nestor made where they uploaded a video everyday for an entire year and then deleted the whole channel. It was an experience to say the least)

to preface this, many of these video clips are from the channel Unus Annus. it was a channel that mark and ethan created where they posted a video every single day, for one year, and then deleted the channel entirely. it was a project around the inevitability of death and using your time wisely. they did and tried a great deal of new things, strange things, stupid things, pointless things, dangerous things, you fucking name it. this will explain some of the extremely random activities he and ethan are doing in some of these. i'll mark those clips with an hourglass for funsies ⌛ lol
⌛1:46 to 2:20 - mark and ethan have very tough grips and are competing to see who can keep it closed around a ball the longest; it's a strength test cause you have to squeeze the grip to keep the ball from slipping/falling. ethan had just lost and improvised a song about being upset that he lost and ended with "my self esteem is so low, please help me-" so mark is doing his own song about being the winner lol
2:34 - it's a running bit in his videos whenever they're trying something or doing some activity he's never done before, blaming the fact that he was "too poor". he hyperbolizes and makes up new lore regarding his "poor childhood" lmfao
3:15 to 3:51 - they are attempting to make crème brûlée; ethan points at the appliances and asks if they each get their own oven, since they're competing. they discover that what mark thought was just a microwave has a bake setting, and that there are two more ovens, all of which he did not know about (it was likely a rented space that he didn't actually *live* in most of the time so he didn't know). he is very excited and proud to announce that he is, in fact, a man, who owns five ovens lmfao
3:52 - mark is recording the "world's quietist let's play"; it is VERY early in the morning, there are other people in his house who are asleep, and he is going to try to record a let's play as quietly as he can to not wake them up, while also choosing to play rage games. his microphone sensitivity is on max and he's trying to stay quiet
4:36 - mark is playing the notoriously rage-inducing game know as "getting over it"; aka the game with the half-naked man in a cauldron swinging a sledgehammer around to climb obstacles that get increasingly difficult with the high risk of losing progress. so yes, he did in fact throw a chair lmfao
⌛5:08 to 5:30 - yes! they are actually attempting to manually charge their phones! this one is self explanatory in why they're yelling at amy lol
⌛5:47 to 6:19 - they found a product on the internet called "thick water"; it's water with a different velocity level and it feels like a thicker liquid. they decided to attempt to make their own, so mark's theory is relating to the juices, while ethan is mixing some pretty nasty stuff in an actual (horrible) attempt to make it. once mark commits to a bit, like drinking the can of corn water, he *commits* lmfao
7:43 to 8:09 - mark has a lot of... feelings, about very, very tall women. obviously, when the resident evil 8 trailer dropped, he freaked out, and ranted about the fans "not telling him" and clarifying that it's "not a sexual thing, it's about power"
8:10 to 8:41 - they were attempting to make pretzels without a recipe, so yes, that is a pretzel! the pretzel is supposed to float, but it sunk, so they're like "nah, it's fine, it'll crispen the boat", cueing mark's weird sentence. repeating what mark says is a pretty common bit for them to do, it's one of their bits, and a lot of times it'll spin off into something, or whatever, but in this case, they both said it with such an unintentional seriousness/solemness that they noticed immediately and broke
8:42 to 9:58 - collectively, yes, it's a running joke, and everyone fucking *hates* it lmfao

⌛10:33 - ethan does say "did", but the words slurred into "d'you", which is why you heard "do". they are attempting a drinking and eating challenge they made up where they have glasses increasing in size filled with eggnog, and they have to drink it all, as well as eat cookies. the gruffness of mark's voice that you said sounds like he's out of breath is because he actually is; drinking that much eggnog in one sitting is fucking ROUGH lmfao
11:24 - mark has a troubled past with the company of sour patch kids lmfao
he loves sour stuff, and a few years back, sour patch made a cereal. he was confused, so he wanted to try it. then sour patch also released ice cream, so he tried that too. then they released yogurt flavors and powder for energy drinks, which he also tried. so that's three separate videos of him trying sour patch kids, and he often jokes about them sponsoring him. they noticed, and sent him a "personalized" pr box. said box was obviously a regular pr box they give away, with a "personal" mix of two colors, and their shoes they created for a collab with the basketball player stephen curry, hence the joke about the smell, in neon green, when said shoes also come in red... which is his main color. mark was *very* offended. in the end, they did actually send him a personalized portrait of his youtube profile picture made out of sour patch kids, which was pretty cool, although mark did not get a sponsorship.

⌛15:42 - they are reenacting all the videos they made during the year in only a few seconds per video; there was a "hypnosis" video they had tried that was basically the start of a self-insert porn with an early 2000s tumblr girl who you are the step-father of. yes, it's fucking stupid, but the "daddy" is a reference.
