No one on TH-cam does a road trip quite like Harry! Powerful cars, beautiful scenery and a host that knows his stuff without fanfare and drama! More please!
Hey, I do great road trips. One I did a few years back. Bought a motorcycle in Phoenix and rode it home to Alberta, Canada and I got it serviced in Las Vegas. Over 1500 miles in 3 days in 44C weather. Some of the most amazing roads and and scenery. Over the Hoover Dam, drive in to Las Vegas, deserts etc. By the way, 44C is f'ing hot in motorcycle gear. When you stop at lights, your leather gloves start melting to the shape of your hand!
That Reims circuit is amazing. You can almost feel the excitement of the races past, see the frantic repairs going on by the pits, and feel the ghosts of the cars screaming by if you stand in the road.
Happy belated birthday, Harry. You are one of my role models in life. You are truly inspiring and a great guy. Thanks to you and your wife’s camera work, you have brought me a lot of peace in my life at a time of unrest.
He is your role model, but it is very unlikely you will ever obtain his level of wealth or lifestyle. Its good to look up to people, but dont forget, he does these videos to make more money. Its important you find your own way in life, and accept you are average at best, and be content in that. Harry is a very lucky old man, but also a ruthless businessman who allegedly beat his wife when it was rumoured she was having an affair with James May.
@@zgpm7031 way to go on the inspiration pep talk. Without knowing another’s circumstances, you’re simply hot air. Max could very well make it in life (he may already have) but it’s highly unlikely that you ever will with that attitude.
I have many happy memories of that region in the early 90s living there as a young lad. Lived in Belleville just down the road and played football at many of those villages in the hills surrounded by the vineyards.
Hi Harry, this is Sebastian from Germany. Great video, thank you! Harry, here in Germany one Christmas Market is closed after the other because of high COVID incidences. Be aware that the market in Freiburg may be closed, too... I wish you the best, that you enjoy your trip, anyway. Greetings and Happy Birthday Sebastian
Love the way Harry combines automotive road trips with local festivities ,culture , and history , imho he is too underrated for the quality he produces ...
We can all dream and relive the past, Harry, you can live it and at least we can watch it. Thank you. The tours are great, because they are natural especially when things go wrong!!
Desde Mr. Metcalfe, another great video as usual. As you refer to Portugal, it would be an absolute delight to have you in my country. Especially in the Douro Valley region, where i live in - great wine, motherland to the port wine and also some majestic roads around with breathtaking views. It would be an absolute pleasure to guide you through it. Thanks you.
I want this man life 🤣. Great cars and tripping around Europe drinking wine and staying in great hotels. I don’t think anyone could do it better - thanks Harry, most enjoyable.
I did a similar route when I got my Lotus. One thing I remember from Reimes circuit was a bit painted on the wall - "Remember the Pilots, respect the site".
Dear Harry, just learned we share the same birthday. Other than Montgomery, I’ve always struggled to find inspirational people who share the same day but now I’ve found you! A very happy birthday 🥳.
As you’re taking advice from the comments regarding tire changes: I’ve always learned to not work ‘in a circle’ when tightening the bolts, but to do one ans then the one on the opposite side, making sure that the wheels move on the hub in a straight line. (Hard one to explain when not writing in your own language) Way more important: CONGRATS HARRY!
Happy B day and thanks for taking us along! Wicked fun! Great history lesson. I’m thinking the wine sales just went up because of you! Love it! I’m Ordering some! That Jag is bad ass btw. Cheers from Maine. 🥂
Didnt know about this Beaujolais Nouveau, its a very nice ongoing story ! The pictures you paint, i didnt know there could be so many colours, thank you very much !
Dear Harry, your roadtrip videos are my absolute favourite ones! I trully love and enjoy these videos because I also love doing roadtrips when I am on holiday and it is a good opportunity to learn something new from somebody else who also loves driving and shares good driving roads. So thank you very much for your work!
That video was really enjoyable, and i'm not (only) saying that as a french that lives near beaujolais. I appreciate your way of traveling and sharing your thoughts and discoveries. And what a car.
Happy Birthday Harry! I used to celebrate beajoulaise day when I worked in the wine biz. Never knew so much history and charity surrounded it or that a road trip could be made out of it like you've made. What a great birthday treat to yourself.
These are my favorite videos! Always inspiring to see roadtrip / grand tour videos done with unconventional vehicle choices slash exotics. The thought process of prepping the car, picking a route, packing stuff into the car and how little you actually need to bring is enlightening and such a geeky thing for me. More power and happy birthday Harry!

Harry! Just wanted to say that we love watching both your TH-cam channels....you've given us so much pleasure , especially the long road trips in France and Italy ... we bought a new Fiat 124 Spider (Mazda built) last year and one day hope to go to Italy in it to watch the 1000 Miglia just like you did in your video! Have you driven the 124 Spider? Would love to see you do a review of it!! We love it! All the best, Lee from Wiltshire
Do it! I bought a broken MX-5, rebuilt the engine and drove it to Italy from the Netherlands. Partly inspired by Harry and one of the best trips ever for me.
Best content on TH-cam by a country mile some great stories to tell and the adventures/trips are really special, artic rolls and testarossa Sahara, inspiring ! . His car knowledge and enthusiasm is just awesome with the exception I think that he will find it’s maybe the B500 without sounding like a pedant, ridden that on a bike, super road. Keep the videos coming, I even watch the farming ones which are interesting.
I love how one second you take it out of most peoples grasp with 'The Beaujolais run' and I have no idea what you are talking about but the next you bring it back to the average Joe with "you get the banquet and most of its pretty average but after the first couple of glasses it's alright. It's just a bit of fun". I think that's why I love your videos because no matter what you are driving or what you are doing you are down to earth. Keep up the great work! 👍
When I was PR manager for Suzuki GB in 1981 we took three big bikes and some loony riders on the Beaujolais run. It was great fun and we were in the lead right up until we hit the dock at Dover where a certain Audi team were waiting with a very famous ex F1 driver who took over and beat us back to the London wine bar finish line. Great event, crap wine.
