  • Daniel Ilabaca is a legend in the world of movement sports and parkour, but as time goes on and new athletes make their mark on the sport and world of movement-based sports, I'm surprised by the number of people who know little about this world-class athlete!
*Note correction, Danny is still very involved with the Stunt camera crew

Ilabaca was a really important part of the first wave after the founders. He is a super rare person who deeply integrated the philosophy, spirit, and movement potentials of parkour. Although sometimes you might still see an argument about flipping and parkour, he essentially ended the argument by explaining that flipping and tricking helps to increase your spatial awareness, which increases you usefulness as a mover and greatly enhances your safety. Easily one of the most important traceurs of all time!

100% I’ve had the pleasure of training and hanging out with him a few times when I lived in Liverpool. Really great guy

I don’t know if he quit parkour, but he definitely stepped out of the spotlight. Hope he still enjoys training!

I will forever carry with me the philosophy of choose not to fall. It taught me the importance of being decisive and having a strong mindset when taking a leap of faith in anything that i do in life. If you are Afraid to fall you will fall because you are afraid. And for that I’ll always be forever thankful to this legend.

Yes indeed, Daniel Ilabaca is the Godfather of Parkour. Out of all the people I watched and ones he stood around, he stood out the most. The way he did everything with such ease and flow. I’ll never forget the name and the face of *Daniel Ilabaca* .

It's not about who was first, but who was the most impactful. For many it was Danny more than Belle, even that he was first who define the name parkour.

Never heard about? Wow I'm kinda surprised and sad a little that this would be a video haha. Then again I understand since Daniel was one of the OG's and why I even started parkour back in 07. Definitely my top 3 that inspired me to move with such flow, creativity, precision, and overall perfection. My opinion, he is the epitome of what parkour is.

Danny still helped pioneer it across america. The failed TV show MTV's Ultimate Parkour Challege was a double-edged sword. It brought more publicity to parkour in America, but also was seen and misunderstood horribly. Some incredible athletes took bad spills and MTV was like...film that shit! Woo! Lmao
