Yeah, they probably cut that out on purpose because it's not the 90s anymore. While impersonating a white British accent might still be acceptable, impersonating minority races are no longer ok anymore

I live in the Philippines. When I worked in a multinational company, during a meeting with our Australian boss, my all-Filipino (dark-skinned, very ethnic looking) co-worker suddenly asked a question in a bad British accent. Everyone in the room laughed while the boss just looked at him speechless, confused and trying to contain his laughter. We thought the Filipino was just trying to be funny but he was actually serious, trying hard to impress everyone. After a few seconds, my boss finally asked him "where are you from?"
After the meeting we asked the guy about the Brit accent, he explained that he was a telemarketer.
