My very basic 2004 Corolla CE lasted 310,000 miles. It’s not that it broke down, but it was hit by a drunk driver when it was parked in the street. Totaled. So I replaced that car with a 2008 Lexus IS250. It’s kind of an upgrade because that car is a luxury V6 sedan that’s way smoother and better insulated. I do miss my Corolla. It was a phenomenal car. Many memories, it was my first car.

I agree. The handling is better than newer gens. The next gen, which I used to own, is softer and taller and think the steering is less reponsive.

Fantastic cars, I have a 2003 and it is super reliable. The clocks typically stop working on these vehicle and it's a simple fix, you just have to remove the clock and re-solder the connection.

This generation is 4 inches longer than the 98-02, its a much better product. These can be had for around 2700-3000 with 200k miles as of may 2024.

This bad boy runs like a dream. Only complaint is the paint peeling off.

Yep it’s a really solid beater car that’s very sound mechanically and isn’t too nice so you don’t have to worry about it getting scratched

Good thorough review except you didn't show the upholstery of the seats (except for a fleeting glimpse of part of the rear) - was wondering as to how they held up after 200K

Yeah Cameron’s seats have zero tears and the foam has held up alright so I would say the seats are pretty solid

Whats up with the air bag

    • @user-lv4ne7nq1h

The air bags are defective, if they go off they could shoot metal out.
There is a recall for them, so you could get them replaced at any toyota spot for free.
If you have or plan to get the car, they will sent letters to you, asking you to bring your car in for a airbag replacement
