  • In this review of Honey Buzz published by Elf Creek Games we show both the deluxe components as well as the standard components. We also go over the ease of play, ability to replay, and how well the theme fits with the game.

Awesome intro Tom. Honey Buzz is a favorite of mine and the Elf Creek treatment is always an eye pleaser.

Does the Deluxe version come with two sets/types of pollen (regular and deluxe)?

Thanks for the comment 🙂. My deluxe edition came with both, But I am not sure about newer editions.

Is this game still stand the test of time? It’s only now that it’s back in stock for over a year here in Oz. But now I’m a bit hesitant. But it’s soo beautiful, i just wanna know how much game is on it. My taste in games have changed from a year ago and really appreciate more medium heavy type of euro game.

That's a hard question to answer. For me, who picked it up just after the Kickstarter wrapped, still enjoy it. I am a big fan of worker placement and Honey Buzz with it's delayed but rewarding way you take you actions adds a bit more strategy. Plus the looks really help, especially with players that have not played it before. It's a good game to show off. I can't tell you buy but I can say I would buy it again if I did not already have it. Plus I am also curious about their expansion that recently came out. But I think there is enough game in the original that I have yet to actually buy the expansion. I hope my answer helps in any way. And thank you for watching. I really appreciate it.

@@ABoredGamer thank you for your reply. I too am a fan of worker placement games. Does this shine more as an economic game more than a worker placement? Hmmm it’s a tough one but gosh it’s soo hard to pass up this game because it’s just drop dead gorgeous.

It really is gorgeous, especially with the deluxe upgrades. Personally I think it's a worker placement over an economic game, but that's how I play. I try to build my hive to gather as many works as early as possible so I collect honey to complete orders. But if you like economic play better you can make a strategy that just has you collecting and selling like honey stock. I don't think that strategy works long term though, especially with more players that could end up selling the same honey you have and lowering the price early on. I think theme is economic heavy, but the actual gameplay is more worker placement.

Thats a lot of items...always looks interesting but I always stay away from these kinds of games fearing that I won't get into it 😮

I know what you mean, more stuff doesn't always mean more fun. We really enjoy Honey Buzz over here but we are also big fans of worker placement games.
