A Few Good Knights Review
A Few Good Knights (prototype) is a 2-4 player game for ages 14 and up with an average gameplay length of 30-90 minutes published by All Night Games.
In A Few Good Knights players attempt to gain the most renown by gathering gold, mana, and complete item sets while avoiding damage and wounds. Gold and Mana are earned by collecting sets of gems through rolling 7 adventure dice. The dice options are docile, danger, and deadly dice which have increasing rewards as well as dangers. After 2 or 3 nights depending on game type players will add together gold, mana, and item sets then subtract wounds and the player with the most renown wins.

It's interesting you struggled with the rulebook because this clicked for me right away after only one read and I am someone who frequently feels the need to watch gameplay videos before attempting to play. In comparison to the Garphill games for example this was much easier to digest. Similar to Garphill, I like that they carry over iconography between games. From a solo perspective, this is my favorite Valeria game so far.
I have not played Garphill but I might check it out. It has been awhile, but if I remember correctly I believe I think this is one of the games I tried to just read the rulebook before setting the game up. Usually when I read a rulebook I play a mock round or two in order to make sure everything clicks. But I agree the game is very easy to understand, once it clicks it clicks.
I still don’t understand how to play this. I’ve never played a game like this before and it seems overly complicated for no reason

Nice How to play video! Keep up the good work! Just one mistake I noticed - in place aquatic flower you say that when you upgrade your storage you MUST complete the bonus action listed (compost in this case). This is untrue. As mentioned on page 13 of the rules, "Players can choose not to receive the Bonus if they wish." This holds true for every bonus you are able to obtain in the game.

2:55 is an illegal move. Portals can only be used to move monsters already placed on your map, not to swap one out that's in the lair with one on the map.

Thank you! Question: Are the cards in hand, kept hidden from the other players? If so, how do trading opportunities occur?
Cards are kept hidden, but like Catan you can ask for a trade or you can even show your hand if you would like. There are no real restrictions when trading. You can trade multiple cards for s single card or one for one. As long as both parties agree. I hope that explanations helps.

Just to be sure. Do building cards have to be placed in a stall on the board once built, or do they remain outside the board?
Good question. They do not take up space on the board they are set to the side of the board if they have a location usable by others. And next to the player if they do not. Edit: Buildings must be placed on a Nagaya location.
@@ABoredGamer According to the rulebook, buildings do use a space from the board. Page 11 states: "To build a Building, you must spend the resources indicated on the Building and have an available Kobun to place on it. Place the card and your kobun on an available Nagaya space on the board. If you choose one of the corner houses, pay additional mon, as usual."

I envy the US for that! lol cries in Canadian! Amazon board games up here are stupidly and highly priced. Even if you were to pay for shipping for just one game at any online board game store instead, you'd still be saving money compared to Amazon prices. I've gotten maybe 3 on sale but that is it. Good list!
