the best tip if you are riding a bike or e bike is always pay attention becouse not everyone on the roads or crossing the roads do that.
i was very young about 14 and i was out on my bike and a woman with a push chair just came out from between parked cars right in front of me and i hit her and knocked over the push chair luckyly i was going slow and no one was hurt apart from me and i was devestated and aplogising profusly but the woman apologised to me for not looking first.
so what i am trying to say is you may think you cant hurt anyone with a bike and that is very very wroung at the very least you can hurt yourself.
the roads are a dangerous place never forget that.

in my opinion (especially on noncargo e-bikes) people overdo it with the tire size. a thinner tire is more future-proof as you can put them on a bus rack, giving them more versatility, and making them better car replacements. the only time it's somewhat necessary is on a cargo bike, or if you live somewhere it snows more than 2-3 weeks out of the year.

You're totally right on that, but it's so much easier for you guys in the US. Here in Europe, especially in Belgium, the air is so polluted that it actually eats the rubber of the tire from the inside out, which can be very inconvenient when you're in a hurry, because there's no way you can see this nuisance coming. Always a gamble. Changing tires on a regular basis is our only option. We call it the Belgian drag...😨

But get it too hard and ride quality will be diminished with a bumper ride, less grip, slower breaking and you'll ware out the centre of the tyre faster. Low pressure is worse though but you should easily be able to tell if they're too low !

use a tire pressure calculator. most people over inflate their tires which makes for a slower and uncomfortable ride

I just commented on a kid jumping his e bike the rear tire was riding real low and he almost piched his sidewall on a landing. Low tires will absolutely decimate your range and top speed.
