    Thirty Seconds To Mars in 2018 is just a solo project of Jared Leto’s ego.

      edgy kid ikr , I loved them , even saw them live in march and was a decent concert , but their latest album and output has just made me outgrow them , kinda a shame as I absolutely loved them to death

    New Seven on Sunday Idea if you haven't done it yet
    7 Overrated Singles by Bands You Love?

    • @thegreatslothlord7796
      @thegreatslothlord7796 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Not a bad idea at all personally mine would be:
      1. Creep by Radiohead (Absolutely amazing song that gives me goosebumps to this day by I hate how everyone just associates Radiohead with this one song).
      2. Feeling good by Muse (Awesome song that I love but it does feel overrated when it comes to how most people knoe this song by them and don't bother to check out their other amazing songs).
      3. Down with the sickness by Disturbed (Personally, I find it a great song but I can't listen to it all the time. Also, do you really have to be that violent? Jfc).
      4. Chop Suey by System Of A Down (Great song that I absolutely love and the whole "Toxicity" album is great but it can feel overrated when most people only know this song, "BYOB", "Toxicity" and "Sugar").
      5. Why does my heart feel so bad? By Moby (Really good song by Moby but it does feel like it's overrated when people seem to only know this song then his other amazing works like "Porcelain", "Natural Blues", "Honey", "Flower" and "Run on").
      6. Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana (Again, awesome song but it does feel overrated when people only associate this song with Nirvana and claim to be a huge fan. Not to mention, not many of the mainstream majority know much of Nirvana's awesome songs like "In Boom", "Rape me", "Polly", his awesome cover of "Where did you sleep last night?" and "The man who sold the world").
      7. No one knows by Queens Of Stone Age (Awesome song and one of my favourites by QOTSA but it's debatable in how overrated you could consider the song as the studio version can feel overrated without the quirky Spanish radio bit at the end but again, listening to live versions of this song it isn't at all. It all comes down to your perspective as with QOTSA their singles can feel overrated but at the same time, not and feel almost completely underrated).
      Should've mentioned before but it all comes to your perspective. Some songs I mentioned you might feel are extremely underrated while others might find it super overrated.

    • @jakobeboah1
      @jakobeboah1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mine would be
      7. Uprising - Muse
      6. Sugar, We’re Going Down - Fall Out Boy
      5. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
      4. What I’ve Done - Linkin Park
      3. The Pretender - Foo Fighters
      2. Enter Sandman - Metallica
      1. I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin

    • @xAnarchRadiostar
      @xAnarchRadiostar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Great Sloth Lord i feel like thats a good list. I noticed those singles are overrated in the mainstream

    • @iliketrains3495
      @iliketrains3495 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      7: Knights of Cydonia by Muse (elitists claim you're a fake fan if you like their popular songs but treat this like Bohemian Rhapsody. Couldn't get into it,.)
      6: Good Riddance by Green Day (hear me out John)
      5: Shape of You by Ed Sheeran (and it's fucking shit)
      4: Creep by Radiohead (duh)
      3: Paradise by Coldplay (not a bad song but it pisses me off when this is the only song Coldplay #fans' know. This and Yellow)
      2: Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs (I get it's their most popular but it ain't their best)
      1: Numb by Linkin Park (forgive me, it's good but not great)

    • @iliketrains3495
      @iliketrains3495 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Great Sloth Lord Surprised you put Feeling Good out of all Muse songs, I feel most fans completely disregard that one. The others are just their most popular so I see where you're coming from.

    30stm sadly, for me. It's really sad to see the decline of this band to be honest. I've listened to them for over 10 years but for the past few years all they've done (or lack thereof) has been disappointing. I really don't know what they're waiting to just quit it all at once because they've clearly ran out of ideas.

    • @lizakolganova7608

      Liliana Maria true AF. And it's sad. 7 years ago I was sooooooo into them, I even have "Provehito in altum" tattoo) Now they are not good at all, to say the least. But The kill will always be my fave, it's awesome)

      I'm half in denial about it but yeah, i agree. The songs are beginning to get same-ish. I got Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams but i didn't really replay it. I did see them live during that era and they were pretty good but when i comes to albums i prefer Jared's '00 vocal style and i think i just need to live with the fact that isn't ever going to return.

    Hoo boy! There's a whole lot of bands and artists I've grown out.
    - Twenty One Pilots (I still really respect their talent, and they put on a really mesmerising live show. But they really aren't all that special to me anymore.)
    - Melanie Martinez (it wasn't really anything to do with the accusations in the first place, but her songs just got really stale to me after repeated listens.)
    - Halsey (yikes! Do I even need to explain?)
    - Andy Black (I wanted to start getting into more "HaRdCoRe" music and he was where I started... long story short: nope!)
    - Pierce The Veil + Sleeping With Sirens (similar reasons to Andy)
    And that's pretty much the tea, I was pretty much a huge Tumblr "pastel goth" girl and then briefly a "sO fUcKiNg HaRdCoRE OwO!!!!" emo, I'm still REALLY emo. I'm just really picky haha!

  • @sanfransiscon
    @sanfransiscon 6 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    1. Simple Plan = This is the first band I ever got into, so a few songs have nostalgia. But otherwise, it's meme status.
    2. Three Days Grace = Another one of the first bands I got into. It just got stale for me. Got me into AMVs tho.
    3. Skillet = Speaking of AMVs. For a while I liked what I heard, but found out that's pretty much all they've got.
    4. Blink 182 = I don't know if this one actually counts. I was always put off by them but liked a few songs for a while.
    5. Story of the Year = The gateway to me getting into heavier music. I still have a good amount of nostalgia for them, and was surprised by some tracks on the new album, but a lot of their lyrics are hard to take seriously. I still occasionally listen to them to get into the mood to write fantasy action, though.
    Maybe this is all because these are bands most people get into in middle school but I wasn't able to listen to secular music until late high school...

    • @hollysmyth2704
      @hollysmyth2704 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Same, I was really into her album, I guess I liked the idea of a concept album. She's still talented, but some lyrics feel a little forced, and border line cringey at this point. Electra Heart by Marina and The Diamonds was a better character driven album in my opinion.

    • @principality543

      damn shitted on her. i think shes over cause of the rape thing...idk that was career homicide

    • @principality543
      @principality543 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Avenue Teal im actually from the same town as her just alittle younger- everyone there( i moved) hates her cause she is successful. im indifferent tho not my style of electronic pop. i dont think she did honestly but idk what her career trajectory will be- im a solo artist so less competition( i know - im evil) i dont wish her harm tho (socially or physically)

    • @Ash-op2ql
      @Ash-op2ql 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Avenue Teal I think it’s more the way she handled it in the first place by saying “she never said no.” There are a millions ways better to handle rape allegations.

    • @Ash-op2ql
      @Ash-op2ql 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Avenue Teal I cannot speak for those who are behaving that way but the internet provoked bandwagoning assholes. At the time, too many fans were doing the opposite and because of their blind love for her didn’t even want to entertain the idea she did anything wrong. And to be fair as far as I see now the only thing she 100% did wrong was the way she handled the allegations. I think it’s important we as a society pay attention and listen to those who speak out about their rape experiences because even in the rare instance it goes this way and it’s all made up, there are still people who are trying to ok what Cosby did. Or try to place blame on the victim.

    • @adamkelly2527
      @adamkelly2527 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Agreed. 95% of Christian bands are so cliche and void of any creativity, with sterile and fake-happy lyrics. I will say Kings K is not one of them and I saw them live a few weeks ago. Fantastic show, and they played the explicit version of “A Prayer” which it was moving as hell.

    Bands I grew out of..
    Fall out Boy (become too poppy and lost identity. I still like a good bit of their pre-hiatus stuff thought)
    The 1975 (a lot of their lyrics started to sound really cliche to me like they were all just quotes stolen from tumblr)
    -Twenty One Pilots (they have become too cringy, toxic fan base, lack of new music)
    -Simple Plan (way too generic and unoriginal)
    Good Charlotte ( same reasons as Simple Plan)

  • @JillyMaysHere
    @JillyMaysHere 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    -Most 2000's pop-punk (Exception: Green Day)

  • @hahaishereman
    @hahaishereman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    30 seconds to mars was my favorite band of ALL TIME until VERY recently. I don’t even think it’s that i outgrew them, I think they just changed too much. Also Jared Leto’s ego didn’t bother me before (I literally started listening to them when I was 9 so it’s not like I even noticed) but I think it has since grown, and become more noticeable to me with age. Really disappointing because I never thought in a million years that they would sell out in the way they have. Especially since they released a wishy washy patriotic weird ass album where they don’t really take a stance on the current state of America at all. It’s like they don’t want to have any kind of opinion in their music anymore so that they can appeal to as many people as physically possible.

  • @pdoglarsen

    i still like some of Disturbed's older stuff, but anyone who says Their Cover of Land of Confusion is better than the original (even though i like the cover) i will have to fight, but yeah, i don't think i've listen to anything new from them since. Asylum i think, but i didn't even listen to that album much.
    Yeah, i'm Also pretty much done with 30 Seconds to Mars. I still liked songs off Love and Lust, but "America" is just a mess.
    (I'm trying to think if there are any more bands, most bands i at least go back and listen to stuff every now and then, even if i've stopped listening to newer stuff)

      I guess, Maroon 5 and Train to some extent. (but I think with Train I only ever liked Drops of Jupiter. and their self titled with Meet Virginia (I still Really like Meet Virginia) (and Maroon 5 I think i've only really ever liked their first album as well).

    30 Seconds to Mars's debut album shocked me how good it is. I only knew them for "This is War", "The Kill" and "ATTACK". It blew me away and I'm so disappointed that's the sound they dropped.

    Personally feel that Disturbed 'does' have a lot to come back to. Absolutely love their work and honestly did really like Immortalized; I think it wasn't necessary worth the hiatus but it was still pretty good. Songs like The Light, Never Wrong and Save Our Last Goodbye were amazing imo. They've been teasing some really huge departures for their upcoming album... might change your mind?

    I thought Lifehouse, Good Charlotte, and Hollywood Undead were in your previous list already (or a video similar to it)?
    Despite HU’s extremely vulgar lyrics, I still manage to like they’re music. It’s like the most off compared to all the other bands I love and I consider them a guilty pleasure. I still like all of their albums except for Swan Songs and I still think their song Mother Murder will always be their hidden perfect gem.
    As for bands I grew out of, I feel like I’m slowly getting tired of PatD.

    Hollywood Undead is a true party rock band. I feel weird when people take them remotely seriously. 90% of their songs are just bitches, boobs and booze. It's perfect when you're high as hell. Yup, I like them.
    The bands I personally don't listen to that much now are 3DG and TFK.

    My analysis/opinions of the bands on this list:
    #7 - Don't hate these guys, but I never really got into them.
    #6 - Same as above
    #5 - I still love plenty of these guys' material, but they're more of a singles band for me.
    #4 - This band just makes me sad. They used to be amazing, but their best days were years ago, and the bigger their lead singer's ego gets, the less likely it is to get any better AT ALL.
    #3 - Don't hate these guys, but they're more of a song band, yet again if I here one of their songs on the radio I won't complain, I'll enjoy it for what it is. Just not an album's worth of material that I could enjoy.
    #2 - Oh boy...I still loooooove these guys, ngl. I even still have fun listening to them, yes they're a guilty pleasure for some but I still enjoy them. Their new stuff is better than their older stuff, though, as they matured and grew up.
    #1 - No...just no. That's all I can say about this band.
    Great list man! Looking forward to more. :)

    Hollywood Undead is my favorite band. To me, they have a flare that attracts me. I remember getting into them back in 6th grade and I instantly feel in love with them. For a time, I did push away from them. After listening to Day Of The Dead, my love for them resparked. Some songs are party songs and just having a good time. Others really do tell a story. Like how I think Rain tells a story of a solider going to war. The Diary is a story of a struggling alcoholic. Their latest single, Gotta Let Go, tells about moving on, dealing with the issues, and overall trying to get your life back on track. I love how they evolve as a band but still stay true to who they are. This is just my opinion, but Hollywood Undead will always stay with me.

  • @ThatKarmaKid
    @ThatKarmaKid 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I apparently have more bands that I grew out of than I thought. Sorry about the novel I wrote, but there were 6 I could think of.
    1. 30 Seconds to Mars: I really agree with you about them. I really loved them 2006-2008. I just didn't keep up with them because after A Beautiful Lie I just wasn't interested in their music and Jared Leto is.... a lot. I did like that documentary about them being sued by their label though, it was interesting.
    2.Black Veil Brides: I can't believe how into them I was. If I go back in my tumblr history, I just cringe about how much I liked them and how many fights I got into becasue I would defend them. I even ran a side tumblr about one of them members. Andy Biersack's dad still follows me on twitter. I was into them from around 2010-2013 which was part of my junior year of high school to my freshman year of college. Oh god. I still will go back and listen to their second and third album because I do still enjoy them but their first is just sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom and their fourth was stale. I didn't even bother with their most recent album. I still have my t shirts though. It's hard for me to get rid of a band t. Also I'm still following a lot of my internet friends I made around that time so at least some good things came out of it.
    3.Asking Alexandria: the last album of theirs I listened to was Reckless and Relentless. I just kind of grew out of that style of music. I'm going to Warped so maybe I'll try to see their set for old times sake since I didn't get to see them when I liked them.
    4. Of Mice & Men: I remember loving their self titled album and The Flood and the reissue of it but I just couldn't get into Resorting Force and never listened to anything after it. I saw them live and enjoyed it and I've even met them and they were really nice but again I think I just didn't like that style of rock anymore.
    5. Escape The Fate: I really enjoyed their first two albums, even liked the third but I just didn't keep up with anything after that. I tried to listen to some singles but they just felt so stale and like what they were doing had already been done.
    6. Get Scared: They're not as big as other bands in the genre, in fact I don't even know if they're even together anymore. I loved their first EPs and album but then they had a line up change and did an EP with Joel Faverie which was a good EP. Then they got rid of him and brought in the original singer and I just kind of didn't pay attention to them after that. Joel ended up being arrested for child porn so maybe it was a good thing they got rid of him when they did.

      I kinda have to disagree with FAtN, their new album changed their sound a lot, it is softer but it is actually because their new singer can't go as heavy as Chriss(their old one). Their sound was oldschool numetal-ish mixing some heavy screams. Now, they went rap-rock with some pop-rock elements. It is still creative but it is different from what they did before. I understand why you grew out of them.

    Not with a band, but this is exactly what happened to me with Avril Levigne. I found some old CDs while I was cleaning the other day and found her first two CDs, which I listened to all the time when I was 13-14- While listening to them, I thought to myself, "I used to love this crap? What the ****". The lyrics felt so deep back then, but listening to them now, they're razor thin; Completely without substance. Same with Simple Plan...ugh.
