"rich" is synonymous to "plentiful/abundant" and in the context of skin. "She has a richly pigmented skin." Abundant in melanin. I guess using the adjective "rich" instead of just plain "dark" gives the thought a more pleasing sound.
This reminds me os this video on increasing vocabulary to avoid using the word "very."
Isn't that the normal way to describe deeper complexions tho? Saw a lot of makeup where I live labeled like that, but I'm not from an Englisch speaking country :)

What I love about lisa is that she really teaches us something. No trashy product reviews , just techniques! This is great because I feel like I can do these things with my make up at home without a 300 $ brush or a 100$ blush. Also she is so classy and calm and I dont feel yelled at watching her because she doesnt have this "im the best" vibes. Others tend to be very loud and shading others during a tutorial has become a trend which is annoying, I came to improve my skills not to hear the latest gossip

Because Lisa is an actual professional make-up artist. She isn't a self-proclaimed "beauty guru" in her mother's house bellowing about free products she is paid to shill. She's the real deal. Magazine covers, film, you name it.
I mean she already works with biggest stars, so I guess she's confident enough about being really good, that's why professional MUAs on youtube are so different from all the influencers.
Call me obsessed, but I'd really love to see you do this on a deeper skin tone too. I know you described how one could make adjustments, but there's nothing like seeing you do it.

I am a dark skin black woman, and I do something similar to this all the time. I do a sunset type of thing using a raspberry color, a peachy pink, and a coppery color. It is a fun look.

Ladynipchick2 I know I’m not the og commenter, but I agree. If I’m doing my makeup, I need blush. It just looks fresh and youthful to me and completes the face. It gives life to the complexion.
I find it instantly adds 'life' to the face by brightening up the skin and making it look fresher and healthier and therefore more youthful :)
Ladynipchick2 a small percentage of people don’t need blush and they look great. But most people look healthier and more alive with the right blush color. It instantly brightens the face. Because as we age we lose the healthy color we had as children.
Blush also immediately makes the cheekbones pop and lifts the face (as long as you don’t apply it too low on the cheek). Once again there’s a small percentage of people that have naturally sculpted cheeks, but most could use a little lifting.

I’m not a fan of bronzer or contouring, unless it’s for special occasions, so without those things you definitely need blush to make your face look less one dimensional when you have foundation and concealer on
Honestly though, I’ve only been using blush for about a year and a half now and I only started using it when I tried out the Glossier liquid blushes. Before that I didn’t think blush was very ‘me’ but ever since getting the blushes I use them ever single time I put makeup on, without fail!

I've been into this style of makeup recently. Just a bit of concealer, light brows, voluminous lashes, lip gloss and blush. No bronzer or contour and I feel like it's so natural and pretty for the spring/summer! LOVE that you made this video. Always so informative and helpful
Of course had I put orange and pink blusher over my face and eyes, I'd look a fright. But Lisa's there, with her magical suqqu brush and magical fingers creating a beautiful artistic look!
I was scared it would happen to me as I don't wear blush but I tried it and it turned out really nicely! I just lined my waterline, added a wing and a clear gloss and I was good to go!

Lisa is one of the few MUA on TH-cam that always remembers people of deeper skin tone.
And of the MUA that bother, it’s obvious most don’t do it because they care. It’s just for appearance.
Lisa did it from the beginning and genuinely cares about including everyone.
P.S. (sigh) Her rings are so divine. I am so sad I can’t afford them. I usually do not crave expensive jewelry but those rings are something else. They remind me of Lisa. Delicate and elegant, but also fresh, unique, and bold in their color. And that noise they make is music to my ears like her beautiful voice.
If I can ever afford them, they will be the first expensive piece of jewelry I buy!

This is a very intuitive technique. You never really know how it will end up until you reach that elusive point of "perfect" which you will probably miss and make a mess on your first tries.😅But darn it, who cares bc the result is beautiful!🤩
Lisa always proves that you don’t need a ton of makeup to look absolutely beautiful.
There are 11 blushes in this look. And a total of 29 products (brushes included) all of them high end. This look easily costs 1200+ $.

I'd say apply more on your cheekbones tbh, I have a round face as well, and I find applying blushes either under the eye without crossing the nose line or cheekbones, since applying it like Lisa can make my face look bigger and not in a flattering manner, just my opinion
This type of look is going for a more flushed look. After you get out of a really hot shower, look at those naturally more rosey points. Follow that as a guideline, but refine it with makeup. Not sure if that helps in understanding the best natural flow of your face shape or not, but that's the best way I can explain it through texts instead of in person lol 😂😂.
I love using two blushes together- a peach and a lilac pink, gives a beautiful effect. Lisa how is it you never seem to age btw, do you have a portrait in your attic? :)

My number one face MUA. I love that Ms. ELDRIDGE doesn't spackle on foundation, marker on opaque square brows.... overly warm the face! Essentially.... she does not do the TH-cam/Instagram trends. The you tubers all look the same, nothing new. Ms. ELDRIDGE always delivers NEW!

Yes I definitely need to do this technique because I love blush more than any make up product. Honestly I probably own over 60 blushes and that comes from working in the beauty industry and constantly buying blush because I can’t help myself when a new brand comes out with them💕

Very pretty! I do something similar because I'm 53 and this is such a youthful look. What I add however, is a bit of blush right along my hair line and under my chin and just a dot on my nose about halfway down. Then, and this is what really makes everything come together, I take a very fluffy/airy eye-shadow brush and lightly swipe highlighter on my eyelids and forehead between my eyebrows.

What a fun technique! And I admire your use of "richer skin tones." So often it's put in a way that . . . dismisses? demeans? darker skin (usually unintended).

It would be a dream of mine to have my makeup done by you. You are extremely talented and don’t overdo it which we tend to see on TH-cam quite often now.
Lisa could you do a blush/bronze tutorial on someone with acne? I find I can make my skin look really nice with foundation and concealer. Set it - but then blush/contour etc make my acne really prominent again or damage my foundation! Any technique help? X
maybe try stippling motions instead of buffing and duo fiber brushes they are more soft and less dense
You probably need softer brushes that won't move your foundation/concealer around and to maybe pat on the product instead of swirling or heavy sweeping. She did a full face on someone with pretty heavy acne not too long ago. Maybe last year or the year before. There might be some good tips in there.
Matte products will help. You do not want a blush or bronzer with any shimmer at all as even the slightest bit will highlight any uneven texture. Matte cream products would probably be best, then can be set with a tiny bit of powder and setting spray. Less likely to highlight the unevenness in texture. Use highlighter very sparingly, use shimmer to draw attention to high points if the skin there is clear and it will take the focus off the parts that aren’t as smooth. A strong eye or a strong lip always distract as well 🤷🏼♀️

Omg I was expecting a Daniel sandler water colour blush technique, which I love those blushes. I totally wasn’t expecting a completely fresh and unique take on how to make use of the tonnes of powder products, I already own. The look you’ve achieved is so pretty, and I’m blown away by the fact your one of the worlds best makeup artists and are still so humble and convey your vulnerability by saying “ I applied some mascara as I wanted to look nice” .. I've been doing my own version of the gold look for every day, including the blush, a little less, and I have been loving this as my every day makeup! Best look I've done yet!

Also I wanna say I absolutely love how calm and "fluent" your videos are. You don't cut and edit them a lot, you just keep going and don't have to cut out a ton of random rambling and this is how your audience can truly tell you are an absolute expert with a lot of experience.
