      Ours came with the rosette on the right side loose and will not tighten up. Defective.

    Nice video. Simple and to the point. I just recently got my FX6 but I chose the Anton Bauer battery plate because that way can still use original battery with V battery

    Hi mate. Thanks for the video. How do you keep track of battery power whilst shooting? I'm assuming that the battery meter on the camera doesn't show correctly and that blue light looks like it's on the wrong side. Am I missing something here?

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Thanks for watching. Typically with any camera I look at the battery it self if it's gold mount or v lock type battery. They pretty much all have an indicator or small LEDs showing the level. Also I will look at the voltage on the camera display. I can't remember if the FX6 can show voltage or not but when I work with the Alexa Mini, I know from experience that the camera will shut off once voltage is down to about 11.3-11.5 volts. It's different for every camera but something you can test to find out. That gives you a more accurate estimate of how much power is left.

    hey man not sure if you can still put that 15mm rod holder on the original side you wanted but i think if you twist it 180 degrees you might be able to get a bit more clearence from the mics

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been putting it on the camera left side. I can remember The exact reason why but everytime I try to switch it over...that when I remember..so I've just kept it on the left. Haha Thanks for watching.

    awesome ! one thing im skeptical about is if you want to add a monitor as atomos ninja V OR SMALL HD! is there any possibility to have it in the front up the matbox ?

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually got a SmallHD Cine 5 for my FX6. You can use a Noga arm or an Ultralight to put the monitor out over the MB. When I do handheld I like the have the monitor flush with the camera left side of the MB. BUT it depends on what lenses you are using. My Leica R primes are very short so it's not a problem. If you have physically longer lenses you will need a longer arm to put the monitor out further.

    Can you put back on the cable management clip from the top you took off, back onto that top plate?

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I'll check once I get the camera back from a rental this weekend.

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You can put the cable management clip back on the cage. Titla made a slot for it to go back on.

      @@FilmmakerSurvival Thanks!

  • @jakeward5074
    @jakeward5074 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you find the clip on matte box with the Leica R's?
    They hold up okay if all 3 trays have glass in, or do you think would need to mount onto rails at that point?

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's pretty good. I did have to upgrade my EF mount to the Metabones cinelock because the weight would shift the lens when using a wireless focus motor. I think if I was doing 3 filters I would go on the rails to be safe. Those lenses aren't really meant for that much weight hanging out front.

  • @jackdavidson5506
    @jackdavidson5506 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you lose the bottom plate, you lose rails support, right? And it looks like the side of the cage still sticks down below the body of the camera. Am I right? Doesn't that create a problem? Sorry for being obtuse, I'm looking at a 2D screen and trying to think in 3D space :)

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use rods off the top. Yes I beleive the side plate would stick down past the bottom past the body without the bottom plate.

    How do you manage to put the camera on a gimbal? You have to strip it down to minimum, it looks it will take forever to switch between gimbal and tripod.

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are using the right gimbal that can support the camera then you don't have to strip it down much at all. The Ronin RS2 can hold up to 10lbs. This FX6 with everything I use on it weighs exactly 10lbs. You may want to take off the monitor and matte box to help. All you really have to do is maybe switch a base plate if you want to go to studio mode. Realisticly it should only take a minute or 2 to switch. If you're going handheld it's just a matter of putting the monitor on and handles if you need them.

    • @SungaProductions
      @SungaProductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which base plate would you recommend?

  • @IanSnape
    @IanSnape 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The battery plate is a nice design but blocks the card slot access alot, which is a frustrating issue.

      @willvazquez3218 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FilmmakerSurvival Are you able to remove and insert cards or do you need to remove the Tilta adapter or v-mount battery? Also, is the Tilta Kit heavy? I just switched to the FX6 from an Amira because of how heavy it was, I don't want to end up in the same place. Thank you.

  • @heraldocreative4735

  • @Halebobby1

    is there a good way to mount a wireless on that attachment so you can still hold the camera with the grip? Looks like that mount just gets in the way of the grip which sucks cause I can see myself wanting to shoot in with the grip and camera against my stomach as I'm a tall dude lol...

    • @Halebobby1

      also all the controls you have with the grip, iris, auto focus assignable buttons etc...

    • @FilmmakerSurvival
      @FilmmakerSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could get a small noga arm or ultralight and put it from the top. You might be able to just move the bracket it comes with in one of the upper holes on the side.
