Just wanted to clarify a misconception regarding Living Dead, you said "You need to be healed TO maximum health", but that is NOT true, you need to be healed an amount EQUAL to maximum health. I.e at 90k max HP at level 90, you can be healed 50k then drop back to 1, you only need to be at 40k to heal a total of 90k HP and not die.

This video was immensely helpful! A level skip for dark knight was bought for me for my birthday not too long ago, and it's been a struggle relearning the job since. This was by far the best guide in helping me relearn all my buttons ^^
I ALSO didnt know about Unmend reducing Plunge CD until i found this video. But also, Living Dead does WHAT NOW?! I mean it's still not the best, but holy hell is it better than it used to be....
I only recently tried final fantasy 14 haven't bought the subscription yet but once I reach 60 which I think is the end of the free trial I'll start the subscription.
A few corrections: - Bloodweapon makes you regenerate MP on Weaponskills AND Spells, which is important, since your aoe's (Unleash and Stalwart Soul, as well as Unmend) are spells - Using Delirium attaches MP generation to quietus and bloodspiller, but the amount you restore differs. Bloodspiller gives you 200 MP, but Quietus gives you 600 - TBN being the best mitigation tool is... debatable. Especially compared to the other tanks single target mitigation tool. Holy Sheltron, Heart of Corundum and Bloodwhetting are objectively better. Still, TBN certainly has its uses. It should be mentioned that you don't get a Flood of Darkness or Edge of Darkness proc for free, but rather you get a "refund". So you spend 3k MP on TBN, pray to the twelve it breaks, and if it does, you can then use an ability that would've cost those 3k MP I know that it's somewhat of a contentious issue, but TBN once was good, in Shadowbringers that is, especially compared to the other tanks abilities, but while they got an upgrade, DRK got Oblation. You have flexibility with those abilities, which is neat, but... yeah.
adding another note, iirc walking dead doesn't need you to get healed to full. It needs you to get healed for 100% of your HP. you can be under 100% HP when it changes to undead rebirth. this used to matter before undead rebirth was a thing but now not so much 😀
One thing that i am still getting a hard time getting used to and something you missed is the fact that you can't use Living shadow when you use your Quietus and Bloodspiller and vice versa I personally wish it didn't cus it feels cumbersome sometimes.
@@sharinx3389 Oh sorry sorry i meant living shadow not living dead/walking dead but yea what i meant is Quietus and Bloodspiller but i think it's not a timer but more like you can't use the Living Dead if you use either Quietus and Bloodspiller and vice versa. I think it's more or less due to how it's uses the blood gauge.
@@jaysanj152 oh don't worry ( you did the same mistake again tho xD) , ffxiv has a lot of cases when a class have a gauge but only used for 1 or 3 skill (1 single target , 1 aoe and 1 buff/special) , in general i don t really like bloodspiller/quietus i wish they had more impact on the class instead of being just strong+ some MP
@@sharinx3389 I did it again yea crap...but i got the idea.Just practiced a little on the training dummy. I've heard quietus was great prior patches where it regenerates a lot more from multiple mobs and now it's just single target.bloodspiller just feels standard tho.
Totally didn’t realize Blood Weapon changed to stacks. Does that mean I can pretty much ignore skill speed now? Since I don’t need to try and squeeze weapon skills into a timer window? Edited in, P.S: clearly I missed the change when it went live, so this vid was great! Thank you!
There is still a timer, but it's way less tight at 15 seconds (up from 10) So as long as you can get a weaponskill (or spell) off every 3 seconds or less you'll be fine
I must say, there is really nothing about dark knight that annoys me...other than how contradicting it feels to be called warrior of light in the lore and stuff...and then be dark knight xD
It makes sense. The warrior of light exists but with light comes darkness. In this case, the dark knight class is the embodiment of a heroes struggle to stop being a people pleaser or carrying the burden of the world on their own. If you noticed how little people in the story cared about the WOL despite doing their tasks, it becomes a 'why do i bother with helping others if all they do is find a raason to use me and then blame me for whem things go wrong?' A thing thats tackled often in a heroes story where aome heroes turn villain. In this case, the dark knight being those emotions that are buried deep within the WOL are manifested and speak on behalf of you who clearly is fed up and wants to give people a piece of their mind even if the WOL wont do it themselves. Something MANY people want to do and yet dont because we get judged for it even if we are right in doing so. The WOL is someone who will protect the people and bites their tongue. The dark knight is the one that stops holding back and will do whats needed to get the job done. [As exampled by the hostage situation. 'We arent here for her. We are here to kill you.' A valid strategy if you know your enemies.] You dont just stop being the WOL even as a dark knight.
I LOVE the way you explain DRK but they changed it Whaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! and I am just starting out and I can't follow along. Can you please do an updated one through the release of Dawntrail at least, even if you don't add the 91-100 spells, that's fine. I just need to 90. Please??????
Dayum. The higher levelled skills look really good..I’m level 64 but only a quarter into HW..so I won’t be getting to play around with those skills like TBN anytime soon 😢 I also feel really really squishy in some ARR dungeons. Hope it gets better when I get those skills unlocked. And if it doesn’t, then I should hang up my tanking role 😂
can you do a red mage one next. also is dark knight recommended for that lv 80 boost paid service cos i feel like it could really do with the boosts from the crypt lurker set.
Don't boost, just lvl naturally and learn the class. Also cryptlurker gear you get in SHB anyway so it's really not worth paying for a boost just to get that gear.

Why do you hate dark knight? As a healer main i love healing my parties. As a player who cant trust other healers to keep the team alive however... i'd feel that with dark knight.

"Massive sword" is a lalafell and basicly wields a fancy kitchen knife.
Meanwhile, Elezen and Roegadyn players are essentially wielding a girder beam on a stick lol

i think you confused carve and spit and abysall drain shared CD , you can use blood gauge abilities during living dead/walking dead

You forgot to mention stalwart aoe combo also gives 20/30 blood gauge respectfully

As a healer main, I hate DKN. As a Lalafell, I NEED to play DKN. oh well.

Its a shield that absorbs 100% of damage until it breaks, and when it breaks it gives u free damage. Pretty good if u ask me
