[Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace 暮沉武德殿] Lyrics(歌詞)
    Walls collapsing all around
Heads high face our own demise
Bolts of lightning strike the ground
    Demons of the mind excise
    Gunfire sounds the first attack
Brothers in arms to the end
    Putrid bodies on their backs
    Sacred symbols will defend
Who now stands before me like a ghost within a dream? (Within a dream)
When did come the day when things became not what they seem? (Not what they seem)
Outside of this palace where my loyalties to lie (Where do they lie?)
For the gods or demons with but one I choose to die
    Bridges crashing to the ground
Heads high watch them as they fall
    Tremble at the thunderous sound
    Hear the siren's final call
    Cannons ripping us to shreds
Brothers, where have you all gone?
    Demons collecting the dead
    Spirit's final breath is drawn
Who now stands before me like a ghost within a dream? (Within a dream)
When did come the day when things became not what they seem? (Not what they seem)
Outside of this palace where my loyalties to lie (Where do they lie?)
For the gods or demons with but one I choose to die (I choose to die)
Ghosts that I see, haunting my dreams
    Surrounding me, what to believe?
    Sunset decries, nightfall's demise
Mirror's reflection is blinding I cannot see
    Timeless sentence
Sounds of the shackles grow louder, insanity
    Timeless sentence
    Timeless sentence
    Timeless sentence
    Timeless sentence
    Timeless sentence
War of the ages, the violence returns
Immortal warriors escape from the urn
Hundreds of years and we pledge hundreds more
Infinite hatred for those at our door
War of the ages, the violence returns
Immortal warriors escape from the urn
Hundreds of years and we pledge hundreds more
Infinite hatred for those at our door
    Violence returns
    Souls will not burn
    Burst from the urn
    Violence returns
    [Inspiration of this song]
The BuTik Palace in Puli was used as command headquarters by Japanese colonial government to repress a Seediq Aboriginal Uprising in Wushe in 1930. During the initial phase of the 228 Massacre in 1947, militiamen in Taiwan also used it as its command headquarters. The chants in the second half of the song are the names of all martyrs who sacrificed themselves in resistance against dictators and fought for independence.

what the hell!!!!! it's so amazing the style, mixed with asian influences. I'm astonished guys, regards from Chile (south america), USA and Italy. By the way, I'm vocalist of Insanity, technical death metal in Chile.

After listening to the Taiwanese version, this English version and the new acoustic version, I see the acoustic Taiwanese version as the best, then the English metal, then the Taiwanese metal one.

      Jesse Lapham
I listened to the taiwanese version for a few weeks and didn't even know there was an english version. The taiwanese is no doubt better

***** I think as they are a Taiwanese band that deals with issues related to Taiwan (history, culture, folklore, politics, war, etc) maybe the Taiwanese version is the best way to represent their music. But I find the Taiwanese version of this to be too chaotic with just endless assault on the ears. The shrieking of his voice just seems harder for me to listen to here. On most of their other songs I prefer the Taiwanese version. Not for Defenders of Bútik Palace though. It's just my own subjective opinion. Just as your comment is.

+ Jesse Lapham (ji e シ ー · Getting ッ pu Haas Rousseau) The acoustic version brought me to tears when I first listened to it. The song was already great but that took it to a whole different level.
