Inspiration of this song:
on April 24, 1970, a member of the World United Formosans for Independence Peter Huang (黃文雄) attempted to assassinate Chiang Ching-kuo(蔣經國), who was the Vice Premier of the Republic of China at the time in front of the Plaza Hotel in New York. The attempt ended in failure, however, when pushed to the ground by security personnel, Huang shouted "let me stand up like a Taiwanese!"

故事來自四二四刺蔣案
1970年4月24日博士生黃文雄為反對國民黨在台灣的統治
在紐約市的廣場飯店門口持槍欲射擊訪美的蔣經國
但刺殺行動失敗，他持槍的手被美方人員托高，沒有射中小蔣
黃文雄被美方壓制在地時大喊：
〝Let me stand up like a Taiwanese！〞（讓我像台灣人一樣的站起來！）
他所喊的原文也寫在歌詞的最後段
〝等無彼咧人 等無一聲霆雷響〞
這首歌是積怨下的豪賭，沒有人出頭，就賭這一槍能不能打醒台灣人
賭這一槍能不能劃破黑夜、打出台灣一條生路
即使最後沒刺殺成功，也要保有台灣人的風骨
〝櫼佇這咧袂振袂動的世界 泅袂出這片翕死人的死海〞
黃文雄日後受訪表示，當時希望能夠打亂蔣家接班計畫，挑起國民黨權力內鬥
從而鬆動台灣令人民窒息的高壓統治，並引起西方民主國家的注意
此曲的音樂錄影帶設定為國民黨和納粹黨的派對，並非空想歷史，事實上國民黨和納粹黨的確有過全面合作

Quite possibly the most tasteful metal bands out there. My friends who don't like metal whatsoever like Chthonic when I show them the band. They manage to have the heavy part of metal but keep the musical aspects locked down.

I first heard the unplugged version, from the Timeless Sentence album. I thought that was the original. And when I wanted to show it to others, I was pussled, that I only found the hardcore metal version. As a metalhead I liked it, and now i cannot decide which version I like better. Epic.

I got a chance to see Chthonic live last week for Paganfest N.-A. 2014, in Montréal (it's how I discovered the band, actually). That was a damn good show! The bandmembers have a great presence on stage, especially Freddy Lim (the singer). Enjoyed it very much; if you guys get a chance to see them live, do it.
Also, that bass! It has frickin' purple LEDs on its neck! How cool is that?

I saw Chthonic with Turisas in Los Angeles. They put in a great set, that put in a great show. This band is the real deal.

Some of you all really need to watch the behind the scenes video so you get your answers as to why the video involves Nazis. The link is in the description, btw. The setting of this takes place in 1930 Shanghai where the KMT and Nazi Germany were allies. Someone in the comments early on put it best when they compared this MV to a being like a Taiwanese version of "Inglorious Basterds".
