I started out like this 50 years ago on my own place. I lived my life raised a couple kids and have slowly over the years made a good place to live. Get to know your neighbors and make your self usefull. This will come back to you many times over. I have 50 acres planted to roots, patatoes,onions,carrots. Good for me and the community. The second year I was here found a bees nest in the woods. I captured it took it home and over the years I've turned it into ten hives.Good honey production. I'm a good mechanic and a journeyman carpenter . I can trade my labor anytime in this community. Making yourself useful is the key to your surviving.

I love that you share the skill-sets that few still possess and that you love the earth and what it offers. I trust you will be a fantastic naturalist and continue to provide a safe environment for God's land and creatures. At age 75, my time has past but I watch you, Lukas, and fondly recall the many times of my life I spent building shelters and trails in sometimes harsh climates. My personal feeling you should have got the sleeping bag out and put it over about a foot and a half from the fire so that it would start to warm up so it would be warm when you got in it.

I love watching your videos! I camped all the time when I was younger. As a much older female (might sound silly but) I actually am afraid to do it now but I would love to be able to. I confess I would have to be a girly girl and use a cot. My old body could not sleep on the ground anymore!! I will have to camp vicariously through you!! Lol keep making your awesome video's! (Congratulations on owning your forest!)
As a fellow old lady, I camp in my backyard for a week each year in the fall. I love the feel of the cold, fresh air in my lungs when sleeping outside in my makeshift shelter. I even did this when I had bone-on-bone arthritis in both hips prior to having them both replaced. So don't give up camping just because not as young as used to be!
