Even today Sue, there is good money on the black market for skulls. And for those of high birth to become so low in death. Money as we have seen cannot buy us a peacefull resting place, as my old nan used to say to me, there are no pockets in shrouds. Lovely place xx

    Hi Sue! Great video!
The castle look on the mausoleum is very interesting.
Having a large opening in the grill over the door, allows animals to enter and do a lot of damage.
When I first saw the outside of it, I thought it may be bigger underground, with like two side chambers, but seeing the interior, it looks as if they kept it simple.

That is very interesting about the name above the door? That is the same way my name is spelled
And I think that is where my ancestors are from? And it is Scotland ? I'm almost positive because I have scottish - Irish and English? I believe that is how it works? But I might be mistaken? And I was always told that our ancestors came over to America on the mayflower. I wonder if anyone is still around from our family? And how I would go about tracking down any of my family over there? And would they be my real family members? At least from my mother's side of the family?. Thanks for sharing this with us and showing us the historic grave yard and the building, that was once a church building? I know of a very old gravestone in Martham church, Great Yarmouth, near where in the UK. The stone is now partially covered by the 'newer' organ.

@@SerenitySueGraveyards just thought it might interest you. Alice was became pregnant by her father who had 2 daughters - the sister and mother- and gave birth to a son. The son was put in an orphanage to hide the fathers shame. The boy was sent away as a farming apprentice and grew up to be a good worker. Alice took him on to work at her farm and they fell in love despite the age gap, and got married. On their wedding night Alice recognised a birth mark on his back. It is said that the shock killed her and she was put to rest in Martham church. Its a terrific story. The stone itself is dated in the 1700s. I have the proper paperwork if it interests you? My grandpa used to take me round the old churches and finding your post brought back happy memories of learning the history and local tales at the churches.

Just beautiful and nicely maintained. Death is definitely the final equalizer. We have seen so often these mausoleums where the deceased remains are scattered. Seems too bad that the skeletal remains cant be respectfully secured once time does its work.🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for this.❤

I imagine the skulls had gold teeth and someone took them home to retrieve those teeth.💀😱

The black market has been flooded with method actors requiring real skulls for the "alas poor Yorick" monologue.

I know it's not your responsibility, but have you ever considered taking a bag along with you and collecting some of the rubbish? In this manner, you would be leaving these sacred places even better than you found them. Maybe others would notice and do likewise!

I wonder why ppl allowed these Amazing stone churches fall into disrepair? We have nothing like that here in the USA. I find them so Beautiful!! I wonder about the ppl long long ago that walked the grounds and attended church there. So sad to see. Who left the flowers?

I’m a Blake by birth, but evidently the name was Stuart( not sure Stewart)? In England….the husband was a wanted criminal, and took the woman’s name…evidently , somehow related to the crown 🤷🏼‍♀️…………thank you for all you show us!❤️

09:26 You can see the coffin lid has been flipped over to the side there. Someone definitely went in there and opened the coffins. Lids just don't lift themselves up and park themselves against a wall.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The cow tried to jump the wall into the graveyard, lol. GV had to shoo him out. The farmer said thanks, but that never happened before
