Disco 12 probably is the only thing I feel pretty confident I can get. I’m in a lottery to buy Thirteenth Colony DO but I’m not gonna hold my breath on that. And my market just doesn’t get a ton of cool stuff
I'm flying almost 2,000 miles to visit Kentucky in about three weeks. The two bottles I'm looking forward to finding the most are Bardstown Discovery Series #12 and Knob Creek 12 year (we have every Knob Creek *except* 12 where I live). Wouldn't mind finding a JD 10 or 12 either.
You’re right about WT putting out BANGERS lately. A store near me got like 20+ cases of CNF last year and put it out at retail with no limit so I’m lucky to have backed that up. I have a pipe dream of it happening again this year but I’m not holding my breath. I was fortunate to get WT70 (49.95) last week and RR15 (249.95) last month so I’m probably due to miss the next Turkey. I think the export WT8 and 12 are excellent so I have high hopes for this 70th anniversary edition and will back it up if I can 🤞
I like OGD 16. It needs time in the glass. Its delicate. I paid 180 for it where I was before taxes. Some people are not happy with it. I think it opens up in the glass like older scotch does.
Why not looking for some New Riff 8 year product? Have at least recently released the 8 year Bourbon and Rye here in Cincinnati, and they’re clearly hitters overall from a craft brand. Might surprise as more findable bottles of the year that you can get for near $60-70 retail since they aren’t as ‘allocated’ as a craft brand from my knowledge, at least outside of the Cincinnati market. As a brand specifically, New Riff 8 bourbon/ rye > New Riff single barrels imo. Next time you’re through Cincy for a pick try and find it at TPS or New Riff gift shop either as bourbon or rye and give thoughts in a review, cuz not everything has to be the legacy (especially allocated) hitters to look for. Would love to see more vids on bottles being sought after that aren’t just the allocated bottles that half the community can’t find without going outside of our way time or wallet wise that are deemed as sought after, but almost impossible to find without greasing the wheels to have the chance to get.
new riff is an astoundingly good brand - imo they're already punching at the weight of a lot of the legacies. their single barrels (especially when you can find them around 115 proof) contain some of the finest bourbon i've ever had the pleasure of drinking
The bottle I’m most looking forward to this year, and I stand a good chance of getting it because I already got it in their online lottery, is Found North batch 010. Can’t wait for it to arrive.
The last Master's Keep has me worried about Turkey. I thought it was mediocre at best, and at that price you have to be better than mediocre. It's just sitting on shelves here now.
I'm ready for the store pick Elijah Craig Toasted at Barrel Proof w age statements. I've seen labels of it, and heard of stores picking the barrels. Will travel for a bottle like that.
I was at high west on Wednesday ( they released dram that Sunday) and people where walking into the gift shop and walking out with a case( 6 ) of midwinters. It was crazy how many people were buying cases. But to be fair. It’s delicious. I will not disclose how many I bought. Hahah
Just picked up 2 of the turkey 70th anniversary. It’s a damn good bottle for $50 and that’s in WV. I could probably get you a bottle if you want to come to Dearborn to get it. lol.
As far as midwinter’s goes, I managed to get an act 11 at $160 *Canadian* which translates to $115 US, and for the quality I actually am fine with that price honestly
No one talking about how the WT 8 yr 101 70th anniversary is the exact same specs as the duty free bottle that's been there for years. I need a side-by-side blind tasting from someone!
Saw the Penelope Estate Private Select for $199 locally. The bottle in person is unreal beautiful, but I want to know its good before I fish out that kinda cash
My grandpa just died and he loved old forester, so id love to find an old forester 10 year to drink in his honor. But PA SUCKS with alcohol and i doubt il see one
I get black out stupid on wild turkey and nothing else, whats up with that? Jimmy 70th... $48 here in Fla. Got 3 New Riff Single barrels. Quarter horse from Green River... banger. 7 year HH BIB...banger. Daviess County French Stave... banger. Metal top ET BIB... banger.
WT 70th was mid and I'd rather of just saved money and got a regular 101 even though it wasn't too much more expensive. Seemed like a cash grab but I could have gotten a weird batch.
I looked at the bottle and said thats what it looked like. Didn't try it, left it on the shelf. I was hoping I was wrong though. Next to it was the C924 and I chose to grab that. Glad I did.
Cracked my OGD 16 year. OGD is an all time favorite but have to say this was a BIG disappointment. Not worth MSRP of 200 much less secondary. Bummer as I had very high hopes!
OGD 16 has gotten less than stellar reviews from other Whiskey Tubers...at $200 I'm passing on this one. I was considering skipping the ECBP C924, but I picked one up and I think it's actually a pretty good batch...best of 2024 anyway...not upset about my purchase. Where is Jack 14?
ECBP C924 and the 70th 101 are very distributed already. My local store in Montana got both last week, 6+ bottles each. I picked up the C924 but the 101 just seemed like an excuse to double the price of their 101. Hope I'm wrong and missed out.
@@michaelfrock2473 I like it. I haven't tried any of the other releases. I have a store pick barrel proof EC and I like the C924 better. I'm not big on proof, still pretty new to whiskey, but its my favorite high proof bottle I've had.
Midwinter's isn't worth 50 dollars; let alone 150. Without question the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on whiskey. Save your money and buy 3 good 50 dollar bottles. Or try it at a bar. Trust me, its the most overpriced bottle on the planet.
Would like to see pictures of the bottles your speaking about as you speak about them. If possible
Wild Turkey 70th Jimmy Russell bottle is great. $55 here in Louisville, KY!
Would you say it's better than RR10?
I just picked it at 45.
@@thundermerc WT70 blows away RR10. RR10 at only 90-proof leaves more to be desired. The WT70 is WT101 but more complex and creamier. It's fantastic!
@@DMW23agreed. No comparison.
I'm getting this tmrw at my local store in Dallas, TX and can't wait!!
I just picked up 2 more of the WT Jimmy Russell's today! $49.95 out the door!
I picked up the Remus Repeal Reserve VIII last week. It is very good. I can't wait to try it again after it opens up for a week or two.
We got our Jimmy Russell bottles and had him sign them. Really cool experience
Excited for the Still Austin “Tanager”. It’s essentially supposed to be a cigar blend/cut that Nancy Fraley is putting together.
Disco 12 probably is the only thing I feel pretty confident I can get. I’m in a lottery to buy Thirteenth Colony DO but I’m not gonna hold my breath on that. And my market just doesn’t get a ton of cool stuff
Dan sorry but I can’t stop laughing at todays video with that bottle behind you and the one liners! 😅😂You guys are hilarious!
Smokeye Hill Blue Corn Barrel Proof and Woodinville 8 year you guys should definitely try this year!
Hope everyone has a good day!
Thanks man you too

KC 12 best value and one of my fav bottles. $65 and tasty.
KC 12 is everywhere in MD, and I picked one up for $55 a few months ago. It's a great pour though, so get at least 2.
Picked up a Penelope Estate 9 today for $120. It's a four-grain, distilled in Indiana AND Kentucky.....

C923 ECBP Is unbelievably good
Cam will be getting a banger delivered today that's on your list 😀
Nice decanter over Dans shoulder.
A good list, but I'd argue BTAC is easier to find than Russel's 15 at this point (at least in NY).
MWND Act 11 is popping up EVERYWHERE around here again lately. Couldn’t even sell through it apparently. Pumping it out before Act 12 drops.
The WT 12 Year Export was great…
The Wild Turkey 70th release is really good.

I just picked up high west MWND and the Bourye from the distillery and have a couple extras. Open to a trade.
Disco 10-11-12 are at the store near me for 150 a pop. 7-9 are at the Woodmans fyi
I heard 10 was iffy but 11 and 12 were great
Drifrless glen small batch rye batch 13 got 1 bottle it was the best whiskey I've every tasted now I can't find it again
I just came across the Penelope Estate 9yr near me in Massachusetts, should I be going back to get it?
Hell yeah
I found WT 70th at my local Kroger for $46.
Looking forward to JD14
I am hearing through sources that a 14 yr JD is coming out Mid 2025 and Barrel bourbon and Old Carter are calling it quits so get it while you can.

I have to agree with Sean on MWND... Sorry Dan. 😞
I’m looking for the OKI 16 year
When oki was putting that stuff out they were new riff
OGD 16yr is great Dan I think you will really like it. Sean might not.
Wild turkey 70th in Arkansas $56 after tax.
Who’s had the best releases of the last three years? Wild turkey, or Jack? 🤔🤔

I'm pretty sure I've seen it in these videos before. But what is that bottle that sits directly behind Dan's head
I've commented on it B4. Think they told me it was a decanter
@themooseloungepodcast it looks like....."Johnson, have you been playing with your"........"Balls, big orange Basketballs" 🤣
OGD 16 , imma be honest , I was disappointed at that price , IMO it's $100ish bottle....
