I cried again - every time with this song. And seeing him so strong and robust compared to his small frame recently- I saw an interview where his friend said Tobie had gone from 260 to 130lbs. He is 6’3”.
I made this trip to base countless times, not knowing where my Sergeant Major husband was going or how long he would be gone. Never can get through this song without tears rolling down my cheeks. 💔
I agee fully with you. As a former Marine the hardest part of our deployment was seeing the wives and children clutching each other trying to look strong as we marched up that ramp into the unknown. That sight stayed with use the entire deployment until we saw the signs and ribbons upon our return. Thank you for your service, as a Sgt. Majors wife you endured many separations and deployments.
I spent the first 20 years of my marriage watching my husband go off to other lands to fight for our freedom, not knowing if I would see him again. Now I have sent my son on 6 deployments and worry about him every day. He is a helicopter pilot, so every flight could be his last, even it is a short flight. This song says it all.
Thank you for supporting both your husband and son. It is what drives us while deployed. Too often the mothers, wives, and children do not get the credit for keeping our service members spirits high and the drive to succeed to make it home to them.
I have a child in the US military. She joined because she wanted to fight and protect those that could not fight and protect theirselves. From the time she was 12, birthday in December, she asked us and others to get names off the Angel tree and buy presents for those children who would otherwise receive nothing for Christmas. She’s been in 10yrs, has been deployed 3 times. And even though sue now has a child of her own, she will always do what she needs to do for others. She knows her child will be taken care of if anything happens to her, and there are many children around the world that don’t have that. I worry for her often. But I know, this is what she was meant to do.
Thank you for supporting her, as a former Marine, the support from back home is what kept us going. Your daughter has a great heart, sounds like you passed it onto her.
Toby's patriotism and support of our troops was second to none! Not to mention his talent, voice and writing genius. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Rest easy cowboy with your old pal Wayman.
I have had this song 100 times and it hits me every time. God bless our military and first responders. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
This song wrecks me every. single. time!! The montage of all the soldiers through out the years, over all those wars, just makes me weep. We already miss you, Toby. Thank you for everything.
This was always one of the encore’s songs at Toby’s concert. He would invite all military retired and active onto the stage. I saw Toby 12 times. I flew or drove to many states. God Bless Toby Keith.
This song hits me hard everytime I see or hear it. Fellow Marines images flash before my eyes, some wonderful, some the material of nightmares. The wives, parents, and children deserve a whole lot of credit for keeping our spirits up, and providing the drive to succeed, protect, and return home. America is not perfect, but I'd die for it's people and freedom in a second!
I am a huge Toby Keith fan. It’s really hard to watch this video so soon after he passed. He looks so invincible in the video.. his dedication comes through clearly. We lost a good one, may his legacy and patriotism live on.
I have a tradition for September. I always listen to American Soldier, Courtesy of the Red White and Blue by Toby Keith and Welcome to Hell by Trace Adkins. A couple others are I Just Came Back From a War and Have You Forgotten by Darryl Worley. Where were you by Alan Jackson rounds it up. Had a friend and a cousin die from combat related injuries, and I was close enough to see the dust plume from 9/11.
My husband got out of the Army in 1978, and yet this song still means so much to me. He had to go to the field several times after our first three children were born, and the two older (ages two and three) would stand at the door every time he put on his uniform to go to work, trying to block him from getting out. They said, "No, Dad. We aren't letting you go." I put pennies on the calendar for every day he was to be gone, and every day we would take a penny off the calendar so they could see how many days were left.
Toby Keith had so many great songs so whether you need to hear something heartfelt, patriotic, romantic, sad, melancholy, inspiring, thoughtful, or just plain funny, yeah especially funny, then Toby’s got what you need. My favorite songs by Toby Keith are Who’s That Man; Wish I Didn’t Know Now; You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like That; He Ain’t Worth Missing; We Were In Love; Upstairs Downtown; Don't Let the Old Man In; How Do You Like Me Now; Made in America; I Wanna Talk About Me; American Soldier; Trailerhood; A Little Too Late; A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action; and of course Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. RIP Toby, we miss you!
Our service men and women serve on the front lines but we must remember that our families serve too. Too many times my ship, boat or helicopter got underway and I never knew how long I would be gone or IF I would return. I never served in Afghanistan or Kuwait but I trained some of those that did. One of my jobs was as a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer/EMT/Law Enforcement Officer. Things can go south so quickly but the men and women that saw action overseas and the military families are my heroes.
I do not know if the verb "to enlist" means something different in the UK, but here it means to join. The military guy in the video did not enlist, but he was called up to go on a mission.
I can’t listen to it without bawling my eyes out… it came out when my husband was actually in Iraq and I missed him SO much! 💔 Thankfully, I got him back physically intact after 3 deployments… and we got out of the Army in 2011.
When this song first came out I dint quite understand the meaning of the song but now it makes me cry and really appreciate what those in uniform do daily.
I come from a long line of family who have served in just about every war that's come down the line since before the American Revolution, & somehow after getting shot & bayonetted thru each war they all came home, damaged in several ways, but they came home. And whenever I watch this video I'm reminded how incredibly lucky my family has been thru the generations.
If you want to hear more patriotic songs check out Trace Adkins songs “Arlington” and “Till the Last shots Fired”. “Till the Last Shots Fired”, watch the video where he’s singing at the ACM Awards
Whenever my dad left for deployment we played this as we dropped him off. Still brings tears to my eyes. Two more of his songs you should try He’s still a soldier Made in America
There will never be another Toby Keith. An incredible patriot! RIP Please listen and watch Alan Jackson - Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning. Alan Jackson wrote this just a couple of weeks after the 9/11 attacks. Alan Jackson has quite a repertoire of wonderful music I think you will enjoy... as well as we subscribers 😊
I come from a military family currently have a cousin in the Navy. Long family history of military members my family has served in each branch except for the Air Force.
So then, even damn time a Brit or anyone else asks me why I fly a flag outside my house every day you understand. If you don't understand you've never been an American. We fought each one of us for it; not always in combat, but with principles, morals, ethics, values, and our dogged determination to never let that flag fall, be burned, or stepped on. God bless America, and God rest our friend Toby. He's with Christ today.
If you like smooth country songs you should listen to ANNIES SONG by John Denver. Great voice and his songs are usually written from experience or an adventure.
That last look at the soldier and the look in his eyes is where you have to go to disconnect, so you can get to the business at hand in your brain. If you do not do that and allow yourself to think about HOME, you may become distracted, and not make it home...alive.
I remember when I was in Afghanistan. Me and four members of my unit lived in a small room in a concrete bunker. I was playing a game of chess with my dad back in the States at the time and my boy in the bunk above me climbed out one morning and kicked the board over. Man I was pissed. I called my dad that night and told him what happened. He said, "Don't worry about it. I was about to win anyway." He probably was to be honest.
Kabir, here is a song I have not seen any one react to. It's Radney Foster-Angel Flight (Radio Tower Remix)-with Lyrics. There is a video on TH-cam so if you react to it I hope you have no trouble viewing it. It is so hauntingly beautiful.
There have definitely been a lot of really good county music from the late 80s to about a decade ago. There were some really good artist before, but they were fewer and far between.
Toby did a lot for us Vets, old and new. Rip Toby, from this old tanker.
As you did for us! Thank you for your service!
So true on what he did for vets. Honor to see him while he tour Afghanistan providing us he awesome music.
R.I.P. Toby Keith. You will be sorely missed. 😢🙏🙏

Great song. Thank you for your reaction. Another really good one of Toby's is Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. One of my favorite.
Every UK reactor has covered this song, including Kabir.
This song always chokes me up. Sometimes it feels like he was talking about my time in the army and how I feel as a veteran.
Salute to your service brave Soldier!
@@AmyErffmeyer-ld1uh Thank you Amy!

This song still brings tears to my eyes.
This song wrecks me every. single. time!! The montage of all the soldiers through out the years, over all those wars, just makes me weep. We already miss you, Toby. Thank you for everything.
One of the best songs ever written. Tear jerker of a video.
RIP Toby, you will be missed. God bless you.
Wow! You've done it again Mr. Keith ,as tears well up. Perfect song. RIP Toby Keith.
RIP Toby Keith, Great American 🇺🇸 Country Legend ✌️❤️🎶

A true loss of a National treasure. Toby Keith always made us feel that we were not forgotten.
RIP Toby! You are missed.😢❤
☄️Godspeed...Toby Keith🫡

My Dad is a Vietnam Veteran. This is the one song he wants played at his funeral. Nothing else. God Bless our Veterans and Military.
A video that is a must is Toby’s last tv performance:

This song gets me every time. RIP Toby you or your music will never be forgotten
You gotta do "Let s talk About Me" BY Toby Keith
Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood has the BEST American songs and made you feel it in the HEART ❤❤❤ !!!!!!

I was able to meet and take photos with Toby Keith during both of my deployments. He was very nice and personable. I was shocked to hear of his death!
My husband has been an active duty Marine for the last 19 years and still going strong. Songs and videos like this always hit home ❤
I have heard this countless times and it still gives me chills. ❤
I do not know if the verb "to enlist" means something different in the UK, but here it means to join. The military guy in the video did not enlist, but he was called up to go on a mission.
Right, he was being deployed. I grew up a military brat and remember my dad getting calls.
My understanding is Toby was most proud of being a songwriter so he’d appreciate this reaction. RIP, Toby
Toby was well known for his support of the troops.
Toby had it all but, his vocals!!! RIP Cowboy.
I can’t listen to it without bawling my eyes out… it came out when my husband was actually in Iraq and I missed him SO much! 💔 Thankfully, I got him back physically intact after 3 deployments… and we got out of the Army in 2011.
I served in the Army Reserve and was fortunate to not be sent to combat, but this song always made me stand a bit taller. Thanks, Toby. Rest in peace
Thank you Toby.. RIP To a man that walked the walk. Was true to his family his faith, himself and our country.
I still get choked up when I hear this song - so long for now, Toby - such a true American hero! We will miss you!
This song never fails to make me cry. My grandpa, dad, aunt, uncle, and my son were all in the U.S. Army and my cousin was in the Air Force.
❤❤💔💔💔😭😭well I am back to crying again- Such a good man Toby Keith was, and his voice is one of my all-time favorites!!
So great to hear your compliments for this song. Toby was such an awesome patriot and singer. We loved him and will miss him immensley.
To stringfellow, what an absolutely perfect response! If you are not a True American, you will not understand. Thank you and Thanks to Kabir.
Loving the "Toby For a Day" music reactions 😀
Man this just swells up in me can’t help but be proud. God bless our soldiers. Tears every time 😢
"Crying for me " is another classic song by Toby.. (tear jerker)

Toby was the only artist i would have paid money to see .
I love your reactions and comments to Toby Keith ( American Soldier)❤
Toby Keith was the one that discovered Taylor Swift and signed her to her first record contract with his label.
And she didn’t even have the grace to acknowledge his death 🤬
If you want to hear more patriotic songs check out Trace Adkins songs “Arlington” and “Till the Last shots Fired”. “Till the Last Shots Fired”, watch the video where he’s singing at the ACM Awards
I agree Arlington will definitely give you chills. Toby Keith's American Soldier shows the effect of leaving Arlington is the ultimate price.
A beautiful songs which touches the heart ❤
Wonderfully sincere reaction!
One of a kind person.
Whenever my dad left for deployment we played this as we dropped him off. Still brings tears to my eyes.
Two more of his songs you should try
He’s still a soldier

Made in America is another patriotic song that was pretty much a tribute to his father.
Awesome song!

The US has captured the market on patriotic songs.
RIP Toby
He has some funny ones as well. The ballad of Balad, call a marine, and wacky tabacky to name a few.
