Back in the 70's when I was a teen. I started building models. This is the stuff I dreamed about doing with my models, but never could. It's amazing to me how far we have come with this hobby. And I'm sure as time passes it will stagger the mind what we can do next.
This video tells a story so much more powerful than how to create a diorama. The details and poses of the figures makes it a story of the people, not just the models.
Tom, I don't even know where to start with this. Setting aside the genius of the model itself, the diorama, and ultimately the stop-motion filming of the progress of it all, the message that the finished article delivers is sobering, deeply thought-provoking. If this diorama of a museum exhibit is not actually itself destined for a real museum, then in my humble opinion it absolutely ought to be.
Congratulations Tom. This mere mortal of a model builder bows down before you. There are some fantastic and very talented model builders on TH-cam, however none of them can hold a candle to what you have created here. A true masterpiece. You are the ‘Jimi Hendrix’ of model building. Unbelievably talented and creative. It’s my humble opinion that you may one day be equaled by others, but never bettered. Thanks for all of your work. Are you financially compensated for what you do here? If not then you bloody well should be!
Surely this is work performed for a real museum??! This is such a completely thought out and executed project, it's like a masterclass in every single element required for a world class museum exhibit! And every one of the specific details in the museum elements for this Lancaster, specifically the heartbreaking lettering quotes, the video display!!, the display barrier rope, figures. The floor surface finishing and colours, graphic design layout, the individually cut letters?!? This is beyond perfectionism into exceptionalism. What normal mortal does that? Let alone has the skill to execute it... (and this is on top of the aircraft itself). I've subbed a few creator/ craft/ scale model channels, all amazing. But this is on another level.
@@crisisguy21 OMG that also Blows. My. Mind. (Realising the effort, planning & precision and I bet dozens of little tricks to make it work we don't even see).
Tom, you've made some awesome stuff over the years, but this really goes above and beyond. This is Art with a capital A and an absolute masterpiece. You should be very proud about this. Everything about this. The clear visitors are perfect, they remind me of time lapse ghosts walking, standing, around a scene. The "screen" is a superb idea and the addition of seating that's actually also a slogan.... the roped off area.....wow. Just wow. Meine Fresse, ist das genial.
This really blew me away, loved how you used clear resin on figures so they wouldn't distract from the main event but allowed a sense of "diorama" by including them, and the video wal is utter genius. Dude Tom you are 👑
This spectacular diorama just raised the game by a million at least, the possibilities are endless using 3 D printing, and you just nailed it. Thank you.
This diorama depicts to us, a strong feeling of love for the modelling, a compromise with the accuracy of details, a spirit of research the stetical perfection, and the sensation of life in every milimeter of this greatness in miniature. A wonderful, spectacular, magnificient, and awesome diorama! ¡Magnus Doctor Modellis! ¡I Salute You!
The most creative video I have ever seen. The Lancaster is outstanding, and the clear figures evocative of a constant moving crowd viewing the display without distracting from the aircraft . The 1/32 scale Lancaster is a difficult kit to build which is great that the " theater" is showing the kit build out.( a two in one diorama). It definitely looks like What a museum quality restoration would look like. Thanks for sharing another remarkable video. Always impressive
Unbelievably incredible😲. It's beyond modelling!! It's simply genius. Bravo!! 👏👏👏 I think this is both a masterclass in model creativity and film production. 😀👍👏👏👏
Just simply amazing! To sillouette the Avro on a bombing run over black and white city far below while incorporating the circles on the floor British aero marking and as a target on the city is pure genius! I love building models and dioramas too and wish I could make it my full time job! Thanks for the master class! Ich danke dir!
Dear Tom, I have much admiration for your skill with this model. I had an not too distant Uncle who died early, in the early RAF bombing campaign in 1941. Your skill Transends all otherwise misgivings in this conflict.
I have been following model building and diorama making since getting a Monogram Models book in my youth ( about 5 decades ago now I think ) that showed an impressive B-17 diorama. This, now, this, THIS is a masterpiece. Unbelievable level of detail and creativity. BRAVO!
Your creativity is astounding. The build of the Lancaster is of course fantastic. Putting it on display in this setting elevates it to a whole new level.
Do you mean as some kind of draft for a real museum? Unfortunately no. It was just an idea of how a bomber might be presented in a modern kind of aviation Museum with integrated cinema.
Absolutely marvelous and so well completed it's just really an absolutely awesome masterpiece of work coming to life like never before seen. Love to see this in years to come. It's just that good!!
My God Tom, this is next level and then some... Where do you get the ideas...? Simply magnificent and it would be definitely prize winning! I agree with some of the comments below, it would be great to see such design in musea.
Another amazing build, your creativity and skill never cease to amaze me, always happy to see an alert that you've posted a new video. Only one thing you missed though - you should have kept 3d printing smaller and smaller dioramas - infinite recursion!
Back in the 70's when I was a teen. I started building models. This is the stuff I dreamed about doing with my models, but never could. It's amazing to me how far we have come with this hobby. And I'm sure as time passes it will stagger the mind what we can do next.
The good thing about these vids is that I get to see how things are put together, outside of just the kit.
This video leaves behind the realm of modelling and is purely in the realm of art... Just Brilliant!
Thank you very much 😊
Very well put! Amazing work! Really inspiring!
“Look on my works…and despair!” Speechless at the level of detail and imagination in your projects. Something to aspire to. Thank you.
Thank you very much 😊
This is the most artistic diorama I’ve ever seen
This video tells a story so much more powerful than how to create a diorama. The details and poses of the figures makes it a story of the people, not just the models.
Thank you
Stumbled across your channel, due to my love of the Lancaster. You have taken modelling to an art form. Speechless 😊
I'm happy you like my little experiments. Feel free to explore my other videos 🙏
That's just so good. The model of the diorama in front of the aircraft and the people like ghosts around the periphery are just magical. Outstanding.
A fantastic masterpiece by a true master 👏
Thank you very much 😊
This is well beyond plastic modeling and dioramas, this is pure Art. We are in another world.
Thank you very much 😊
Just when I thought I'd seen it all, Toms lifts the bar again! Your imagination, production skills and craftsmanship are unmatched!!
Thank you very much 😊
Thank you very much 😊
First time i have ever seen a Build video, Model and Diorama as a Diorama. Outstanding work.
Tom, I don't even know where to start with this. Thanks for your kind words - currently it's not to be in a museum. There weren't any requests 😅
I have modeled and followed the hobby for 50 years,…this build, presentation and video is mind boggling. Well done sir.
I'm happy you like it 😊
Congratulations for achieving Gold and Best of Show at EME Lingen 2023!
Now why am I not surprised to learn this modeller has won major competitions? I would have been more surprised to learn he hadn't.
Thank you 😊
A model of a powerful weapon of war at the centre of an exhibit on the moral ambiguities of war. Unique.
Thanks a lot 😊

Thanks for your kind words 😊
This deserves a place in an actual museum. Just jaw dropping. Would love to see it for real. Well done.
Thanks for your kind words 😊 - this Diorama can be seen in Lingen, Germany, from 25th to 26th of March at the Euro Model Expo...
Surely this is work performed for a real museum??!

Thanks for your kind words. The museum idea isn't of a specific museum nor will it be placed there - currently 😅
And don’t forgot the stop motion filming which is a skill in itself
@@crisisguy21 OMG that also Blows. My. Mind. (Realising the effort, planning & precision and I bet dozens of little tricks to make it work we don't even see).
Your work is absolutely a masterpiece.
Truly inspirable. Thank you
I'm happy to hear
This is simply amazing -a work of art.

Wow. Incredible skills you have Tom.

Masterpiece! The completely new level of modelling. I wonder where 3D printers will take us in the next few years, unlimited possibilities!!!!

Glorious. The clear resin museum patrons are an awesome touch.
I'm happy it worked that well
ABSOLUTE GENIUS! Modeling masterpiece. Congratulations Tom

Do you mean as some kind of draft for a real museum? Unfortunately no. It was just an idea of how a bomber might be presented in a modern kind of aviation Museum with integrated cinema.
