  • Here's a Latvian Nation Armed Forces (NBS) Field Ration! This military food pack is similar to the Meal Ready To Eat but unlike a MRE it is meant to feed a soldier for a 12 hour period. The main meal is canned and can be heated with the included esbit stove. This is a truly world class ration in terms of taste. The bread is unlike any other.

    That bread In Latvian is called rupjmaize, which translates to rough bread and it gets its characteristic flavour from the added malt. Sourdough bread is a bit different, it's lighter in color and doesn't have malt

    Buddy I love those and Lithuanian rations ! Next to Russia rations these are some of the best. I wonder how our Troops make it with the garbage they are given , of course when not on base with field kitchens etc. Latvia, Poland, Lithuania Russia they all got it right. The food is awesome!

    The orange color in the chicken and rice most likely is from Paprika. Reminds me a bit of the Lithuanian ration. As an 80's Mil Vet for U.S rations to me the C rats were the best! First gen MRE's sucked and there were no heaters! I am really not that impressed with the current generation MRE either. I carried a lot of my own food to the field!
    So far, the best Mil rations I've eaten were the French ones! The French ration is even better than the old C-rat! I need to try the Norwegian and Australian ones to see how they stack against the French. I had one Russian ration and honestly wouldn't have fed it to my dogs.

    I got a case of ten of the Latvian rations two years back and I loved them! My personal favorites are the Russian rations!

    Love your reviews!!!!Why are there legal issues with black currants?

    • @walrusking148
      @walrusking148 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Black currant plants are a host for the "white pine blister rust" fungus. Back in the early 20th century the fungus was spreading at such an alarming rate that it threatened to wipe out our native population of white pine trees, which are crucial for the US timber industry. So black currant plants were banned from being planted.

      The black currant plant helps the spread of a disease that kills some pines. Thus it was banned in the US. The ban has been lifted in many states but the plant is still rare

      They were a major host to a disease that threatened the lumber industry.

    Hey smart guy, I wouldn't heat the stove tablets on the same tray you're shortly to be eating off of? The Latvians use depleted nuclear waste in those.

    Jump cut, jump cut, jump cut, jump cut, jump cut, jump cut, jump cut...jesus, I'm going to get motion sick with this many jump cuts. At the point you're editing in between words within the same sentence you've taken editing too far.
